Chapter 44 The Truth Of The Situation

"Haha... So, when will you start your exploration, Captain Jin?" Hua Meili teased.

Being teased by her like that somehow made him feel a little embarrassed.

"Eh... I decided to go and explore today. I and my team will go on a search for some supplies."

"Then, do you need someone to go with your team from my team?" Hua Meili could not help but ask.

Looking at Jin Hua's team, not like she was holding something against them but she really felt that they are too weak for her taste.

If somehow, they ever find themselves in trouble, who would save them?

"No, it's alright. My team and I are enough to go. No need to trouble the others." Jin Hua quickly rejected it.

"Then, are you riding a car?"

"Uhm... The car we used to get here was already ruined so I guess we need to walk to reach the city." Jin Hua sighed.

He thought of how far it would be if they were going to walk from the Mansion to the city. It would probably be hours of walking and they might not be able to be back so soon.

Thinking about this, he somehow regretted building his Mansion somewhere far away from the city.

If he only knew that a day like this would come, he would have built his Mansion on the city's square.

"With all the Mutants around?"

Hua Meili raised an eyebrow amused hearing what he had said.

She would not find it funny if only he was like her, she did once run all the way to the city on foot during the night.

But listening to him say that he along with his group would travel on foot towards the city, the corner of her mouth tug into a strange smile.

"What Mutants?" Jin Hua asked puzzled.

He had never heard of Mutants before, are there other creatures other than Zombies around?

"It's the term I used to call zombies, Mutants." Hua Meili explained seeing his puzzled expression.

Jin Hua was then immediately enlightened after hearing her explanation.

"Oh... That's a peculiar way of calling Zombies. But, that is a better term than Zombie. Well, about the car we don't have one."

Hua Meili looked at him like she is looking at a fool, the walk to the city is miles away. They are going to be Mutant snacks before they reach the city!

"Jin ge.... It could not be helped then. Du Hexi, go with them." Hua Meili sighed helplessly.

She then tossed the key to the WC to Du Hexi. With him around, she is sure that nothing bad will befall them.

"It's alright, we have enough manpower."

Jin Hua quickly rejected thinking that she wanted the butler to go with the team.

But he could not help but look curiously at the key that Hua Meili toss to the 'old' butler, then retracted his gaze.

"Who says Hexi is fighting? Hexi will only be responsible for driving."

Hua Meili laughed knowing what he is thinking about.

"Driving? Who's car?" Jin Hua asked puzzled.

He was sure that the car they had driven was long ago in ruins and had already been thrown far far away.

"Whose car? Of course, my car." Hua Meili smirk.

Everyone gathered in front of the gates as they wait for Du Hexi to drive the WC out.

They look at the garage with curiosity, they discuss among them what type of car Du Hexi would be driving out.

Among them, the highest vote of what car it is was a Ferrari while the lowest was a Land Rover.

But when the car was finally out, everyone could not help but stare agape at the WC since they had never thought that the car that they would see would be so much farfetched from their imagination of what a beautiful, fragile rich young girl's car would be.

'Was she planning to go to war?!'

"Wow, this is one hell of a car!"

Gao Hou drooled, his eyes sparkled in excitement looking at the car.

"You have such a nice car, Meili!"

Yu Diqiu and Yu Feng gave her a big thumbs-up as they touch the car from bottom to top and top to bottom.

They were feeling the car so much that if it were only a girl, they would surely get a hard beating.

'It looks like we have another set of car maniac here.'

"It's yours?"

Jin Hua looked in disbelief and could not believe that his sister would use a car like that if everything was still normal.

"Yup, it's mine. I let Cheng ge do some modifications on it so a normal Phase 1 Mutant would not be able to even dent it a little. So, it should be safe for you to use this as you explore the city." Hua Meili explained as she also touches the car in amazement.

No matter how many times she sees this car, she still gets excited about it.

But thinking about her personalized car which is more beautiful and sturdy than this one, she smiled.

"I... You're really the best, Mei!" Jin Hua exclaimed hugging her.

"How did you know that a Phase 1 Mutant cannot make a dent in it? And what is a Phase 1 Mutant?" Lian Pian asked confused.

She never heard such a thing before. Could it be eaten?

Hua Meili rolled her eyes inside but outside she only look at her indifferently.

"Du Hexi took the WC for a spin in the city and the Phase 1 zombie did not even make a dent when it attacked. And Phase 1 Mutants are the Mutants that evolved like a Level 1 in a game and their strength could be compared to Phase 1 evolutionary humans which are the evolved Humans." Hua Meili patiently explained.

"If your comparing us by Levels, then are there stronger Mutants than the one that we are currently facing right now?" Lian Pian said alarmed.

She had never thought about it before that there were stronger Mutants than the one they are facing now.

She had always thought that the Mutants would never get stronger than them and would stay forever in their original state.

"Is what you're saying true?"

Jin Hua who also heard what Hua Meili said was also alarmed, his face paled.

If Mutants would also evolve as humans do then they must really prepare for the future, they must get stronger to protect those they hold dear.

He would not let some undead Mutant out there surpass him!

He will do everything in his power to get stronger and to be the one who will surpass those man-eating monsters!

He will be the strongest among all the humans!

"It's true. Mutants evolve and also get stronger as we humans do. So, you must be careful not to cross path with a Mutant higher than your own level or you may endanger your life. If you do encounter one, immediately run and never look back." Hua Meili warned.

She dared not say her warning in a playful manner, she knew just how serious of a threat the Mutants are to them.

If she joked about this matter, they might get the wrong idea and treat her words as nothing but air.

So, she said it very seriously.

"Where did you hear about this?" Mingque Shui asked curiously.

He had never heard about this information before from other survivors.

This is the first time he was hearing about this so he was skeptical if he should believe her.

Still, he kept her words to heart.

What can he say? Her words might come true in the near future.

"Of course, I'm not just saying some hearsay. I would not be telling you all of this if I am not sure about the truthfulness of this information. Hexi could be the judge of my words. Hexi had always been the one who always went out among all of us here. At most, he had already encountered one or two of this stronger Mutant."

Hua Meili could see that they are a little bit skeptical about what she said but it doesn't matter.

She already warned them of the dangers ahead, it is up to them to believe her or not.

"While he was out driving, he saw a stronger and more powerful Mutant when he was around town. He saw how powerful it was compared to normal Mutants. Phase 2 Mutants are a lot more stronger than a Phase 1 Mutant. You could easily identify them by their powerful aura and bigger body than Phase 1, so do be careful. And now.... aren't you going?"

Hua Meili cutely tilts her head after explaining.

"Going where?" Jin Hua asked still not snapping out of his thoughts.

He looked at her with a dumbfounded face.

"Silly, you said you're going to search for supplies today in the city. Did you forget?"

Hua Meili flicked his forehead waking him up effectively.

She giggled, retracting her naughty hand.

"Supplies? Oh, right. Haha... We're going now, Mei."

Jin Hua quickly bid farewell and sat inside the car beside the driver seat. The others also followed suit and took a seat in the back seat.

Their minds still floating in the clouds thinking about the information she had told them.

If what she had said is true, won't the world turn even more chaotic than it already was?

"Be careful, Gege."

"I will."

The car started up and slowly drove out of the gates.

She watched them go until she can no longer see the silhouette of the car before getting back inside.
