Chapter 12

-[Robyn]-

"I don't trust him." She said firmly.

All this time the Schnee have been around and now they decide to help. She knew he was up to something.

"Well, that's what I thought too. I checked the buildings he bought. All of them are in good condition and are waiting for the people to move in." Fiona said, having a hopeful look on her face.

She didn't blame her. She was too optimistic.

"Robyn, if he's telling the truth, this would be a great step up for the people down in the crater." Joanna said.

"I'll just go and find the truth myself." Robyn said, about to walk off when Fiona moved in front of her.

"That's another thing. If you go to meet him, he's canceling the deal." Fiona argued.

"Figures. He's scared since I can sniff out what he's hiding." Robyn said confidently with a scoff.

Fiona laughed awkwardly. "It's more of your aggressive stand towards the Schnee than anything else."

Robyn sighed as she had a thoughtful look on her face.

She didn't believe that he was doing this for no profit or gain. There was something she wasn't seeing but no Schnee did something like this without there being something in it for them.

As much as she disliked the whole situation, if it helped the people of Mantle, she would have to bear with it.

It didn't mean she wouldn't be careful. They'd make sure to keep a close eye on whatever this new Schnee wanted to do.

-[Wynne]-

Sitting in his office, he watched as the last batch of construction androids was loaded into an airship with Fiona coordinating them.

With Fiona's help as well as that of the Happy Huntresses, the Crater was now devoid of people. Now the androids could start working.

He frowned as a call interrupted his viewing. He sighed, finally answering Ironwood's call.

"General Ironwood, I'm afraid I'm quite busy at the moment so I'd appreciate it if we can wrap this up quickly." He said, getting to the point.

He saw the twitch of irritation on the man's face before he removed it.

"You're a hard person to get a hold of. It shouldn't take much of your time. I want to schedule a meeting so we can discuss the SDC's partnership with the Atlas military." Ironwood said, causing Wynne to shake his head.

"There's no need for that. Though the arrangements were made between you and my father, I've already looked through them. Rest assured, I don't believe I'll be making any changes to it." Wynne said, shutting down the man's attempt to use that meeting as an excuse to discuss other things.

One of the very few things that Jacques did that he left the same was his partnership deal with the Atlas military. Stupid as the man was, he knew how to squeeze money out of them.

Ironwood would no doubt try to get him to lower the prices and increase the supply for the military.

"That's the problem, your father and I were in the middle of discussing a few changes in that agreement before he passed the company to you." Ironwood said, keeping a tight lid on his expression.

Wynne was silent for a moment. "This is the first I'm hearing of this. I'll take it into consideration and let you know when my schedule is open." Which would be never or at least not anytime soon.

With that, he ended the call immediately.

He pulled some files on a few people that worked in the SDC. On the surface, nothing looked out of the ordinary but looking deeper into their records, the discrepancies were hard to miss.

Ironwood had some spies in the company during the time Jacques was the CEO and he'd only snuck more in after he took over.

'I'm going to have to have a word with whoever's hiring these people.' He thought in exasperation.

Leaving the office, he made his way to a rather large room in the manor. It was the same room where Weiss had her training with different instructors.

Waiting inside was a tall dark haired man, who scowled upon seeing him arrive. "I don't appreciate being kept waiting."

"I apologize. I had some other matters to attend to but I'm here now." Wynne said, not taking offense as the man walked up to him.

They were engaged in a silent staring contest until he stopped in front of him. "Look kid, just because you're some big shot doesn't mean I'm going to take it easy on you." The man said, handing him a case that he'd brought with him.

While he had been focusing on the business aspect of life, he wouldn't forget the dangerous aspects of it as well.

The instructors that trained Weiss were better off as ballet dancers than huntsmen in his opinion. He'd also fired Jacques' secretary who hired them.

The man in front of him was one of the few huntsmen who weren't at Ironwood's beck and call. He didn't need a suck-up that would tell him he was doing great when he wasn't, another reason why he chose this guy other than his skill.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Wynne said, opening the case to reveal its content.

Inside it were two twin guns. Taking hold of each of them, he switched them to their other form which was a pair of swords.

He'd ordered this some time ago and it was finally time to learn how to use them as well as some unarmed combat.

"When do we start?" He asked the man who showed a grin.

"Right now!" He answered, rushing towards him.

-[Weiss]-

The excited look on her face hadn't calmed down as she looked at the new gacha event that came out on Huntsman Legends.

The prizes were good but the main attraction was the main prize. Looking at the digital version of herself wielding Myrtenaster, she could almost scream in excitement.

"Wow, Weiss! You got your own character! Your brother's really cool!" Ruby fangirled. "Can we get him to add us too?! Can we?! Can we?! Can we?! Can we?!"

Yang pulled Ruby back. "Slow down there Rubes. I'll admit it's pretty cool." Yang said with a grin before turning to her. "So can we?"

"He's a busy person and already has a lot of work to do as it is. I will not let you bother him for something like that." Weiss said firmly.

Ruby let out a moan of sadness at that. "I wonder what he's like in person." She said.

"Probably as bossy as Weiss." Yang joked.

"I am not bossy!" She wasn't! "Why do you have a picture of him saved on your scroll?!"

Yang was currently showing Ruby a picture of her brother on her scroll. "Blake, what do you think of him?" Yang asked, ignoring her question.

Their other dark haired teammate had been focusing on her scroll for some time now. "Blake?" Yang called out, getting her attention.

"Huh? He's okay I guess." She said unsurely.

What was wrong with her?

-[Blake]-

The SDC had been a major obstacle to faunus rights with their maltreatment of her species. They treated the faunus like trash and though Weiss was her teammate, she had yet to form an opinion of her.

When the news about the new CEO of the SDC was announced, she thought things would get worse or at least stay the same.

What happened was the complete opposite, at least from what she heard.

Some rumors had been spreading about the changes in the SDC, specifically about Faunus labor and how they were now paid better and worked in better conditions.

Though his game didn't discriminate against faunus, she still had her reservations. She couldn't confirm anything so she wouldn't believe anything until she saw proof.

Looking at the picture on the scroll that Weiss was currently wrestling from Yang, she'd admit that he was at least good looking.
