The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, sat at his desk, surrounded by the warm afternoon light streaming through the tall windows of his office. His desk was cluttered with scrolls and files, each detailing the progress of Konoha's future shinobi. Today, his focus was on the academy student dossiers.

Hiruzen believed that knowledge was power, and nowhere was that truer than in watching the next generation. By paying attention to the smallest details, the Hokage had always been able to spot potential early, giving him the opportunity to nurture those who could become great assets to the village. It was this meticulous attention to his village's children that had helped him recognize and cultivate talents like Minato Namikaze.

As he flipped through the dossiers, his eyes scanned the reports and notes attached to each student. Some stood out for their early development in strength or intelligence, while others were still finding their path. Hiruzen was careful not to overlook anyone, knowing that even the most unassuming students could become significant.

One particular file made him pause: Haruto Takeda.

The boy was an orphan, without any notable clan or background to distinguish him, yet something about his file drew the Hokage's attention. Hiruzen opened the dossier, reading through the young boy's progress in the academy. His scores were respectable—strong, though not exceptional—but what caught the Hokage's eye was a specific note about Haruto volunteering at the hospital.

Volunteering at such a young age? It was unusual for students to take such an initiative, especially orphans with no obvious ties to the medical field. The fact that Haruto had shown interest in the medical arts at this stage in his development hinted at something deeper—an early sign of diligence or curiosity, perhaps.

Flipping through the file, Hiruzen noticed mentions of Haruto's chakra control, which had been marked as steady and improving over time. Though nothing spectacular stood out on paper, the combination of his test scores, his dedication to his studies, and his interest in medical ninjutsu made Hiruzen pause in thought.

There was something about this boy that struck him as potentially significant. He wasn't a genius like Kakashi Hatake or Minato Namikaze, but there was something quietly impressive in the consistency of his efforts.

Hiruzen leaned back in his chair, exhaling a puff of smoke from his pipe. He carefully marked Haruto's file with a subtle note: Person of Interest.

The boy might not stand out now, but he could very well become someone of great importance in the future. It was too early to tell for certain, but Haruto was now on the Hokage's radar, and his progress would be monitored more closely from now on.

With that, Hiruzen set the file aside and moved on to the next student. There were still many names to go through, but Haruto Takeda might just be one of those hidden gems.
