Ch 59: Penny’s Father

"We got here pretty quickly." Osaka says

"Yeah, sadly I couldn't hide us from the final bit of radar. So we might have company in a bit. Although we went through it invisibly." Kyra says taking off her headset. After having landed the avenger in Mantel.

Getting out of the Avenger.

"Something is wrong." Weiss says

"What? Why is that?" Yang asks

"We never had our forces deployed so aggressively like that before." Weiss replies

"Wonder what's wrong." Blake says

Suddenly a full bearded Ironwood shows up on a sky scraper.

'Isn't this supposed to happen in season 7' Kyra thinks.

"That doesn't look good." Qrow says

"General Ironwood looks." Yang says

"Tired and depressed not to mention stressed." Kyra says

"We landed on top of fathers Pharmacy!" Penny shouts excitedly hopping down.

"Why don't we ask Penny to give us a tour." Kyra says

Looking around, Kyra sees what's seen in the show. Mantle is a defunct city.

'Reminds me of parts of Jacksonville and Detroit.' Kyra thinks to herself.

"I would be Happy too!" Penny shouts.

"Let's see your father first though. I always wanted to meet the man." Kyra says noticing the alarms are not going off. Yet the amount of Androids was unnatural, same with Atlas' cheap copy of a quadcopter drone using gravity dust engines instead of propellors.

"Good idea!" Penny says making her way to the Hatch on the rooftop.

Taking the ladder down everyone made their way inside.

"Shouldn't you normally go in through the front?" Kyra asks

"Normally you don't land an aircraft on someone's roof." Qrow says

"So who is Penny's father?" Osaka asks

Once they get to the second floor they made their way down the stairs.

Everyone sees an old man on a kinetic wheel chair with 4 legs.

"Father!" Penny shouts hoping onto the chair hugging the old man from behind.

"Darling!? Wow you got here faster than I thought. You seem lighter aswell." Pietro

"Doctor Polendina it's nice to finally meet you." Kyra says to the man in the chair.

Pietro squints at the girl.

"Why if it isn't Miss Stark." Pietro says

"You have cataracts?" Kyra asks surprised they haven't figured out how to remove them.

"What?" Pietro says

"Your eyes seem clouded right? There is a surgery to remove them. I'm a no good surgeon, but I bet I could pass off the details of the procedure to you and you could give it to a friend." Kyra says with a smile.

"I would greatly appreciate that." He says watching Kyra plug her Pip-boy into his computer and leaves the folder on his desktop.

"So... you are Team Rubies. Your disappearance has shocked the world to say the least." Pietro says

"What can I say... I'm really good at hide and seek." Kyra says

"Really good?" Ruby asks sarcastically

"More like I never wanna play hide and seek with you again." Yang finishes Ruby's sentence

"What's going on with Atlas?" Weiss asks

"The city is on lock down. Ironwood is searching for Arthur Watts. He's scared Arthur is both a genius and one of our own. He made Atlas security code his plaything. If it wasn't for some other hacker disabling it our army would have wiped Vale off the map." Pietro says

"You're Welcome it's a shame I could t save the airships." Kyra says

"So... can Penny give us a tour of the city?" Ruby asks some what excited when an alarm goes off.

"Trouble I guess." Yang says

The entire team walks out side.

On a run down street there are people running away from Grimm.

"I haven't fixed Blue rose yet..." Kyra says realizing she needs to do that so instead she pulls out a gun.

"Could I upgrade your weapon?" Pietro asks

"Sure." Kyra answers handing him a bag full of the Blue Rose's parts.

"The smith that made the blade is really talented." Pietro says as Ruby decapitates a sabertooth.

"Thanks." Kyra says shooting a Sabertooth that was about to get Osaka from behind.

"Guys! Support Osaka let her get some combat experience!" Ruby shouts

'That's why she is the leader.' Kyra thinks happily knowing Ruby could say it before she could.

'Vice leader is good enough for me.' Kyra thinks as she watches Osaka completely dominate a 1 v 3 with the Grimm.

"Osaka was that you or him!?" Kyra asks keeping more from coming towards the farm hand with well placed cover fire.

"That was me!" The girl shouts back.

"Well done! I'm surprised simulated fighting gave you that much experience!" Kyra shouts noticing they are being watched.

"Do you always fight in a dress?" Pietro asks

"Usually I don't even wear a dress, I just kinda felt like it." Kyra says realizing that she has the complete mindset of a girl now.

"Ruby! Do you have a Geiger counter!?" Kyra shouts.

"Mines in the shop!" Ruby shouts back acknowledging that there is a group watching them.

Yangs eyes also widen since she didn't notice them.

"What does that mean again?" Weiss asks

"What's a Geiger counter?" Osaka asks

"*sigh*" Blake sighs knowing those people watching are going to have a bad time.

'To think I would use the railroad sign and counter sign to warn her of spies watching us.' Kyra thinks
