Prologue Part 2:An old journal

Rain had spent most of her life in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Her father was a member of the Cherokee Nation. Her mother was a mixed bag of everything.

Rain would be bullied for how pale and white looking she was, but her father always told her she looked like her mother the most beautiful woman in the world.

Now though she stood grave side as her mother father and little sister were being buried. She was 16 and alone in the world.

Rain Davis sat in the office of the tribal leaders, "Rain... Your mother had an aunt named Louise Shannon. She was who your parents requested take you in."

Rain was numb she just nodded her head.

Louise was a spry older woman. Rain thought she looked like Shirley Mclean, "Heya Rain... I'm Louise. Most call me Louie though."

Rain moved in with Louie; who did her best to provide for the girl.

One stormy day Rain explored Louie's attic and came across an older steamer trunk. Inside was a time capsule of by gone eras; including a journal of an ancestor named Irish Meg Shannon.

"Hey Louie... What's with the old steamer trunk in the attic?"

Louie smiled, "That belonged to your great great great grandmother Velda Shannon. She came to America when she was a wee baby with her Aunt Anna and her a "friend" Mary Jenkins." Louie gave a wink when she said friend implying Anna and Mary were an item.

Rain began to help wash potatoes for dinner, "What happened to her mom?"

Louie sighed, "Her mother was a high end prostitutes known in London as Irish Meg. You should read her journal. It's in the trunk."

So after dinner Rain did just that.

"The journal of M. Shannon...."
