When Park Hayoon brought her daughter home, she was already sleeping in her arms.
Later in the evening, Kim Hyejin's birthday was celebrated.
Her grandfather bought wine on his way home.
Her grandmother cooked different dishes.
And while she was sleeping, her mother went out to buy a birthday present for her.
So when Kim Hyejin finally woke up, the house was already decorated. The dishes were served, and her cake sat in the middle of the table with three birthday candles on it.
Little Hyejin was marveled when she saw that everything was set for her party.
That evening, the celebration went on till night.
Park Hayoon and her parents, celebrated Little Hyejin with joy in their hearts.
It was the first time in a long time Park Hayoon was sitting at the same table as her father.
You could say that Kim Hyejin's birthday was a good occasion to bring their relationship close.
That same night, Kim Hyejin speaks with her uncle, Park Ji-hu (mother's elder brother) on phone.
"Happy Birthday Hyejin!."
"Thank you, Uncle!." Kim Hyejin replied with a beautiful smile on her face.
"Since my uncle didn't make it in time for your birthday, I will get you a big birthday present. So tell me what you want, and I will buy it for you." Park Ji-hu promised.
Kim Hyejin thought for a while before concluding "When I think of something, I will tell you."
"Okay, uncle will be waiting for you." Park Ji-hu tells her.
The next day was Sunday, and since Park Hayoon didn't have to attend college today or go for her part-time job, she stayed at her to accompany her daughter.
This morning, Little Hyejin had a big frown on her face.
She sat on the couch with her short legs crossed and a hand on her jaw.
"Hyejin'er what is wrong?." Her grandfather asked as he brought the newspaper away from his eye level.
Kim Hyejin glanced at her grandfather and said, "Nothing."
Park Ha-Jun glanced at her and sighed before he continued reading the newspaper.
"Do you want to watch snow white (A Disney Cartoon)?." Park Ha-Jun ask her again when he saw her sitting in the same position after some minutes.
"No Grandpa." Chen Lihua replied.
Park Ha-Jun stared at her for a while before giving up.
He took his newspaper from him as he walked out.
Two minutes later, Park Hayoon came to the sitting room to look for her daughter.
"Jenny, why are you sitting here all by yourself with that frown on your face?." Park Hayoon asks her as she sat beside her on the couch.
"Grandpa told me you are not happy and you don't want to say what is wrong." She continued as she placed her palm on her shoulder.
"Mama, how come I didn't get a birthday present from you?." Kim Hyejin asked with a serious expression on her face.
"Birthday present?, but I took you to the park and bought a cake for your birthday. Are they not enough?." Park Hayoon asked.
"No!." Kim Hyejin replied with puffed-up cheeks.
"Alright! Mama bought a birthday present for you yesterday." Park Hayoon revealed.
"Really?." Kim Hyejin asked in surprise as she rubbed her palms together.
"Yes, do you want to see it?." Park Hayoon asked as she rubbed her cheeks.
Kim hyejin nodded in excitement. She couldn't wait to see what her mother bought for her.
Park Hayoon took her to their room. She sat her little on the bed before opening the wardrobe door and bringing out a shopping bag.
She sat close to her daughter and brought out the things in the bag.
"Ballet shoes?." Kim Hyejin asked as she picked up the small pointee shows with her hands in admiration.
"Yes. I got you a ballet outfit yesterday. Now, you will be able to receive ballet lessons from me." Park Hayoon announced.
"Thank you, Mama!." Little Hyejin said as she gave her mother a soft hug.
Park Hayoon reciprocated the hug with a smile laced on her face.
In the following days that came by, Kim Hyejin received ballet lessons from her mother. She read some of the storybooks her grandfather bought for her, and she also played with the toys her grandmother bought for her and watched Tv as well.
You can see that Little Hyejin wasn't idle anymore.
Although Park Hayoon was in college, she had a part-time job where she thought ballet from ages 4 - 10.
She had to earn money because she had a huge responsibility since she had a daughter to train by herself.
Her parents helped her a lot, otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to pull through.
Two months later after Kim Hyejin started taking ballet lessons from her mother, they met Mr. Wang and the little boy he was with at the children's park on Kim Hyejin's birthday.
Park Hayoon took Kim Hyejin to a children's bookstore, so she can buy some educative books for her.
As Park Hayoon was picking up some books for her daughter, she asked her.
"Jenny, have you thought of what you want to be in the future?."
Kim Hyejin thought for a while before replying, "No, I don't know. When I grow up, I will tell you."
"Jenny, you are not a baby anymore. Think about who you want to be in the future and tell me about it later." Park Hayoon said to her.
As they were coming out from the store after purchasing some books, they heard a voice calling out to them.
"Excuse Miss."
So they turned to look behind them only to see a familiar face.
Mr. Wang was standing in front of his car that was parked opposite the book store.
He was on a call when he saw Park Hayoon and Kim Hyejin come out from the bookstore.
At first he was not sure, but when he caught a good glimpse of Park Hayoon's face, he was then sure, so he called out to her.
He didn't know Park Hayoon's name, so he could only call her 'miss', with the hope she would turn around.
And luckily for him, she did turn to see if she was the one being called.
