The Incomplete Meeting

"Sis…" Abigail called out. Whereas Aurora was in her own world, with her laptop opened in front of her and her mind somewhere else.

"What's wrong with her? She has been like this ever since she joined her new job" Abigail said to herself as she sat in front of Aurora. She stared at her for a few minutes, hoping that her older sister would notice her but to her luck, she was too spaced out.

"Aurora!!!!" Abigail finally had it and yelled to which Aurora flinched really hard.

<Aurora >

"Wha-! What's wrong?!" I exclaimed upon the sudden increase in the pitch of Abigail's voice.

"You" Abigail replied as I expressed my confusion. "What in the world happened for you to behave like this? It's soon going to be a whole week since you started working at that company. Did something happen there?" she asked.

"What happened to me?" I laughed, averting my gaze.

"You are acting really weird~ You space out way more often and you are always in your own world. Whenever I mention your work you start to act weirdly and dodge the question. What in the world is going on?" Abigail questioned as she folded her arms over her chest.

'How can I say that I just dug my own grave? I threw coffee right at my boss's face and now we are playing hide and seek in the office. And I don't know why, But he always appears right where I am and hiding from him is itself a marathon, plus, I have to explain my unusual acts as well which is a separate headache' I thought but soon my thoughts got disturbed when Abigail called out for me.

"Look, again," she said as I shook my head, "Oh? It's just work pressure. Nothing more" I said which Abigail didn't buy for obvious reasons.

"That excuse of yours is really old now and will not work! Come on, tell me what the real deal is?" Abigail said.

"You're not gonna leave me alone, are you?" I asked to which she shook her head as I sighed, "Okay so,..What happened is th-" I got cut off as the doorbell rang.

Ding Dong

"Oh! It must be Hernan!" and with that Abigail ran off towards the door, leaving me dumbfounded.

I slowly turned towards the disappeared sight of Abigail and said, "Very well... Sister..." and then again slowly turned back, focusing on my laptop's screen.

"Yo! Rora! What's up?! I brought refreshments!" Hernan exclaimed as he barged inside, followed by an excited Abigail.

"Hmm~"

I only hummed and continued typing. Hernan went towards the kitchen, placed the refreshments on the counter and then he took out three packs of noodles.

"Rora? Are you hungry?" Hernan asked to which I again just hummed in response.

"What's wrong with her?" Hernan asked, "Don't know" Abigail shrugged.

Soon Hernan cooked noodles for everyone while chit-chatting with Abigail. Abigail set the table where I was sitting as Hernan brought freshly cooked noodles and placed it in the center. Both of them sat down as well and I also couldn't resist since I was hungry as well.

A while had now passed by, and all of us were now done with eating, I was back at work while Abigail and Hernan were preparing their assignments.

"Oh? Rora! Are you free tomorrow?" Hernan suddenly remembered. I looked at him before humming. "You don't have work tomorrow, right?" Hernan again confirmed as I nodded.

"You are 'Free' free, right?" Hernan again asked as Abigail facepalmed herself.

"Oh, Come on! Just say it already!" I looked towards him, irritated, as he passed a smile, "My Uncle wants to meet you," he said.

"Your Uncle? Why?" I questioned.

"He has met Abigail and Abigail has also met my every family member but they haven't met her family and you are her only family so, he wanted to meet you" Hernan explained.

I pondered for a bit before nodding. Abigail and Hernan squealed in happiness. "Really? You'll meet him?" Abigail exclaimed in astonishment as I looked at her weirdly.

"Why? Is there a reason I shouldn't?" I questioned as both the younger ones aggressively shook their heads.

"Then tomorrow dinner! Done?" Hernan asked. "Okay," I said as she stood up. "I'll text you the location later. Okay?" Hernan said.

"*Yawn* Okay" I showed the okay gesture, "I'm sleepy so, I'll go off to bed. Are you staying over?" I asked as Hernan nodded, "Okay, Don't stay up late...And d-"

I was speaking but got cut off, "Don't do anything naughty~!" Both Abigail and Hernan said in unison.

"And I mean it!" I glared at both of them as they nodded. Soon I went off to bed and both the younger ones, ignoring my words, stayed up all night watching movies and cuddling each other.

"Where in the heck is your Uncle?" I exclaimed.

Abigail, Hernan, and I were currently waiting in an expensive restaurant that didn't have many people around. This venue was decided by Hernan's Uncle who somehow got indulged in an important business right before heading over here.

"It's been more than half an hour!" I whisper-yelled as Hernan looked guilty.

"I'm sorry. He is always late for appointments that are not related to business" Hernan looked down as I sighed.

"It's not your fault. You are not to blame" I said and sat back. Hernan just passed an apologetic expression to Abigail who just gestured to him 'Not to worry'.

"What was his name again?" I suddenly asked.

"Huh? Who?" Hernan looked confused.

"Your Uncle!" I said.

"Asher Howard... is his name" Abigail spoke. That was a familiar name. I went into my thoughts.

'Where have I heard this name before?' I pressurized my mind when a sudden bell rang,

Wait a sec…

I paused for a second.

"Oh! There he is!" Hernan stood up followed by Abigail. I slowly stood up and turned around, only to find my Company's CEO walking in our direction.

'Ah...Shit!'

"I need to use the restroom!" and with that I ran out from there, leaving Hernan and Abigail confused.

___

"What should I do? What should I do? He is Hernan's Uncle?! I knew Hernan belonged to a prestigious family and his Uncle was a really successful businessman" I said to myself.

"Hernan told me his Uncle's name many times and even tried to show me his interviews but I never paid any attention to him... Stupid, stupid!!" I slapped myself.

I was currently sitting on a closed toilet seat, wondering what I should do. Fifteen minutes passed just like that and soon I started to receive Abigail and Hernan's calls.

"Ugh! What should I do? I can't just go and meet him. What if he fires right upon seeing my face saying, 'You dared to throw coffee at me?! You are fired!'...But? Does he know I'm working under his company? I don't think so. Because if he did, I might be jobless by now" I said to myself. After a minute of thinking, I finally came to a decision…

"Okay!" I stood up with a jolt, "Let's run away!" I exclaimed and encouraged myself.

Peeking out of the restroom, I looked towards the table where all three of them were seated and Abigail looked quite uncomfortable.

"Sorry, Abi. Forgive this sister of yours but I really have to do this," and with that I slowly started to sneak my way outside, making my way while hiding from pillar to pillar.
