Prologue

Have you ever wished that all your problems would just disappear?

Or wished that you could just start a new life?

All the time, I wish for both of those things. Ever since my birth, terrible luck has followed me, no matter where I try to escape to.

This Misfortune, it found a way to ruin anything, and everything.

Here's a lesser example: On my ninth birthday I had gotten an adorable puppy. It was the cutest thing, pretty eyes and gorgeous brown fur. I named her 'Coco.'

The next morning while walking her, she got loose somehow. A truck completely flattened her when she tried to cross the road.

But this wasn't the wasn't the worst thing to happen.

One time, a stray bullet flew through my window, injuring my shoulder. Any higher, it could've hit my neck. This fact kinda scares

Then, there was that one time I went camping with my friends in highschool. That night, a bear rampaged through our camp, destroying our tents, along with everything else.

Eventually, I grew tired. I was done.

When I turned 18, I moved away, but my bad luck followed.

Job after job, I was fired.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

The constant noise of my alarm clock filled my eardrums, skating them by the sheer loudness.

"GAh! Why dOEs it have to be so LOud?"

My eyes caught sight of the time.

[ 7:30 A.M ]

This WAsn't GOOD! Not one bit!

"I'm going to be late!"

Sprung out of bed, tossing my blanket aside. I had to make it to my new job at the caffe.

BUmp!

My toe bashed against the corner of my dresser.

"Oww! Nuts!"

Next, I ran face-first into my bedroom door.

"Frick!!" My hand covered my face out of agony.

This day was ALREADY going bad.

On the way down the stairs, my foot slipped off the edge.My body tumbled down each and every step, till I hit the floor. By then, my head was spinning. But I couldn't give up yet.

And so, I jumped back to my feet. As I entered the living room, I heard a crackling noise from my ceiling.

"Huh? What's that?" I looked up.

Swoosh! BONK!

The ceiling fan fell down, right on the top of my skull.

It goes without saying, I ended up being late to my job.

And if today wasn't bad enough, I was fired.

"I hate this." When I returned home, I wrapped myself within my fluffy brown blanket.

Quietly, I sat there, in my pitch-black room. Like I was living in a cave.

Never. Never. Never.

I could never have a normal day.

"This is just ridiculous…"

My body slumped over on my bed, a single tear slid down my cheek.

"I wish I would just disappear."

I guess I had fallen asleep quickly. Before I knew it, a ray of sunlight hit my face, waking me.

"...Did I forget to close the blinds?.." I murmured, using the back of my hand to shield my face.

A cold breeze swayed past, gently caressing my skin. Birds chirped from overhead, gliding through the sky.

My eyes widened, my pupils shriveled up. I swifty sat upright, now aware of my surroundings.

Surrounded by trees, It was fairly easy to identify where I was at.

This was a forest.

A dang Forest.
