Chapter 99-04

"I would never leave you," I whispered, before softly kissing his lips.

"How did you find me?" I asked him curiously after I pulled away.

"It took some time. Liam took you far enough from both packs."

"You looked out of it when you entered the room," I told him, replaying how hesitant Layton was about getting near me. It scared me because all I had wanted to do was be near him.

"I was expecting the worse. I didn’t know if he had done anything to you. If Liam had hurt you, or forcefully mated with you," Layton said, swallowing loudly. "It would’ve been my fault. I’m your mate, about to be an Alpha. I’m supposed to protect you."

"This wasn’t your fault, Layton. Don’t think like that, please. Liam didn’t hurt me. It was the guy who was laying down, dead in the ground. Liam defended me from him. From him and the guy that you killed," I told him.
