WHAT I knew about Alpha Dennis was almost next to nothing. I only met him once when he arrived with the other Alphas. Tonight, he held a gray cloud above his head. What he had just said shocked us. Another Alpha was dead.

"He was killed just like Kane and Adam, his hands holding his heart and one eye," Alpha Dennis said.

I wonder how he could remain calm with all of this. It was getting out of hand. There is a serial killer out there murdering wolves with Alpha blood.

I turned to look at my mate to see him with a frown on his face. I felt his apprehension because of the mate bond.

"When?" Connor asked.

"Just a few hours ago. We were supposed to have dinner together with my mate, but he said he couldn't come. While we were eating, I felt the bond snap," Alpha Dennis answered.

There I saw the first flicker of sadness. Alpha James was of course still a father to him and then an Alpha.

"Did you notice anything off with the place?" Violet asked.
