Chapter 12

I said, "Daina."

Ouch! I was speechless.

"Thanks, I was just passing by"

I grunted, keeping my eyes on the road.

I'll never forget how you saved my life.

Cara growled in my head, "You weren't passing by; you picked her up."

"Couldn't you have offered a better reason? "

"Quiet!"

I yelled.

I suppressed my feelings from Daina.

Daina's POV:

I was finally allowed to see the sun again after a week in the hospital.

I smiled while breathing the fresh air outdoors.

"Welcome, darling Daina," she rubbed my face.

"While you were gone, I was bored.

You're back! You recovered? "

I slowly nodded.

My gut churned as I recalled falling into the jungle trap.

"I think I was set up."

I was the only one that slipped into a trap and nearly perished during the forest excursion

There's no hunting.

Why a trap? It's illogical.

I must investigate.

I won't allow whomever laid this trap go

"Daina, you too?"Dason r's expression changed.

I want to tell you something when I visited you in the hospital, but you were sick, so I wait until you were home.

I let my ear rest on her lips when she beckoned me closer.

"That day, I saw a she-wolf in the jungle. She was sneaky and vigilant, which I found weird.I saw her wandering about a grassland for a long time. After your accident, my mind kept going back to that scene over and over again. It couldn't have been a coincidence."

I couldn't forget plunging into the deep abyss and getting stabbed.

"Maria?"

Her father had already harmed my family.

She won't let me go! It wasn't odd.

She failed to murder me then.

Now that she knew I was alive, she'd attempt to kill me so I couldn't seek vengeance.

We used to be buddies, but now a vast abyss seperated us.

To take retribution, I needed to solve this dilemma first.

I had no proof that Maria attempted to murder me.

Dason's one-sided remark didn't convince me it was Maria.

I'd be cautious about Maria.

The following day was sunny.

Jason took us swimming at the beach.

Most of us were bored and disliked training on the training ground.

The seashore changed everyone's mood.

All trainees want to try.

We headed to the beach with swimwear and diving glasses.

I squinted in the warm sand.

Dason

gripped my arm and spoke incessantly in the light.

Do you enjoy the beach, Daina? The water is blue like the sky, and the air is soft and lovely. Daina, what's wrong? Do you enjoy the view? "

Inadvertently, I looked at Maria.

Her beautiful black bikini showed off her physique.

She established eye contact and grinned as she sensed my attention.

Her emotionless gaze and grin made me shiver.

I turned aside, not wanting to look at her, and start planning what to do afterwards.

"Ready, set, swim!"

Jason exclaimed.

Under his direction, we lined up and wade into the sea.

Jason was one of the first to enter the water and encouraged me when she realized I was still on the beach.

She said, "Daina, come here. Let's go."

 I'll come shortly.

After hesitating on the beach, I pinched my lips together and waddled out.

I made my motions appear sloppy, like it was my first time swimming.

After witnessing all the trainees swim away, I slowly approached.

Except me, all the werewolves in swimming training appeared as comfortable as mermaids.

Everyone moved away from me.

Alone.

Before then,Maria was swimming ahead with everyone else, but I pretended not to notice her and swayed the water with my hands.

Maria slowed down, falling behind me.

I decided to act when I realized she was near enough.

I covered my chest and splashed a lot of water.

"Help!"

My legs kicked, but I continued sinAlpha.

My ailment prevents me from swimming. Help! Jason…Oh…"

I swallowed water while speaAlpha.

Uneven waves made me dizzy.

I cried for aid among the ups and downs, but the other trainees were too far away to hear me.

I pretended to be hurt and drowning to bring out the perpetrator.

Maria watching me? If she intended to murder me, she wouldn't give up.

This was the only method I could think of to lure my opponent out.

POV: Maria

Lucky Daina!

I thought she'd perish in the trap I prepared, but she survived.

She'd be unlucky next time.

She had to die.

She threatened me and my father every day she lived.

Something went amiss with Daina during sea swimming practice.

She was water-stupid.

She fell behind the other trainees quickly.

I liked the chance.

Nobody would suspect me if Daina drowned.

I surreptitiously watched Daina as I thought about how to fake her death.

I slowed down to avoid arousing her suspicion.

To my amazement, she swam far away with the other trainees and vanished.

Daina was alone.

While I was deciding how to handle her, I heard her scream.

I was ready.

I swam to her and saw her drowning.

She required aid getting out of the water due to her injuries.

God aided me. I feigned to be worried by holding Daina's hand.

"What's wrong, Daina?" What's wrong? "

"My injury aches. I can't swim..."

Daina palely leaned on me.

"Can you land me?" Please…"

She coughed so much she couldn't complete her sentence.

She then spit water.

Seeing her pale face increased my want to kill her.

Off-guard, I forced her head into the water.

If she drowned here, everyone would assume she perished from a training accident, and no one would suspect me.

Daina lost.

POV: Maria

Daina's death excited me.

I kept her head submerged while she fought in the water.

She ceased trying after a few seconds and sunk motionlessly.

I was happy to be free of Daina, but quickly recognized something was wrong.

Werewolves could hold their breath for lengthy periods in water.

Daina's death was unexpected. Something stabbed my ankle, sending a stinging ache up my leg.

I screamed as blood flowed from my flesh and mingled with water.

Daina emerged from the water holding a sharp rock.

"Ha. You think you can murder me that easily?" she hissed."

Whore! No surprise she sunk quickly.

She want to assault me then.

Since she understood the truth, I stopped pretending.

I smiled ferociously.

"Yes, I'll murder you!" Why are you living, Daina? While you're alive, my pack won't be at rest. "

"Pack?"

Daina laughed like she'd heard the funniest joke ever.

"What's your pack?" Maria, you must love being the Alpha's daughter, right? But I own your position! Your father assassinated the genuine Alpha to take his position.

I escaped to another pack as a slave, but look at you! You've become noble, but God is fair.

"Quiet!"

Hatred filled my veins.I want to rip Daina's jaw off.

"My father and I worked hard to reach where we are. Don't blame us."

"You prepared a jungle trap for me, right?"

"Yes! Ugh! You're horrible! I want you gone immediately! Go to hell! "

I didn't want to spend another minute listening to her, so I began wrestling in the water.

I recall her sloppy swimming, which indicated she wasn't as proficient as me.

She was hurt. This gave me confidence to take her down.

Water sprayed nonstop as we struggled.

My hatred-reddened eyes.

Daina's water motions surprised me since they were so agile and skilled.

Her injuries didn't slow her down, either.Clearly, she didn't relapse from her earlier injuries.

Her awkward motions were partly an act.

Then I understood this woman was testing me, and I'd fell into her trap.

My damaged ankle made it difficult to swim.Daina punched me with the incoming wave.

She kicked me in the stomach.

I scarcely noticed the faint abdominal discomfort.

When I sunk, I was short of breath.

Daina swam over, stomped on my back, and booted me farther into the water.

"Argh!"

I screamed, and water filled my throat.

I plummeted like an abyss beneath the ocean.

I didn't quit.

With Daina's leg on my back, I couldn't move.

Pain paralyzed me.Every second was agony.

Dazed, I let go and sunk.

Would I die? Why did Daina kill me? Was I her match?

Suddenly, I felt hateful.

I sat up upright.

I exhaled and dove deeper, swimming away from Daina.

I couldn't see what was going above the water, so I assumed Daina couldn't see me.

I squinted in the water and saw Daina's figure far away but on watch.

She remained put for a while.

If I reappeared now, she'd grab me.I was almost suffocating.

Already, I'd been holding my breath.

I thought my lungs would burst if I remained in the water another second.

I noticed a large piece of driftwood float by

My drive to live pushed me to pull myself up.

I'd never been so desperate.

Daina was invincible.

With this idea, I eventually emerged near the driftwood.

I clutched the huge driftwood and gulped for air.

Daina didn't see me under the driftwood.

I gently swam ashore while clinging to driftwood.

At the beach, I collapsed.

My eyesight clouded when I saw the azure sky.

Ouch! murder me, but I had no proof.

Sea stones even cut my ankle.

If I accused her, she might claim I sprained my ankle swimming.

I had to suppress my fury for now.

I'm alive.

I had time to accomplish my goals.

Stephan Buther's perspective:

Daina was meant to attend swimming training today.

She'd just recovered.

Accident? After touring the castle for hours, I went to the beach.

Daina drew me like a magnet.

At the beach, nobody knew where Daina was.

She was left alone during swimming practice and hadn't returned.

This made me angry.

I want to beat up Jason.

Too often lately, Daina was in danger.

I got a horrible sensation, which made me search faster.

I searched the shore but couldn't find Daina.

My visage became more gloomy as my fear grew.

What if she drowned? I must locate her.

I decided to search for her at sea after some thought.

Daina swam back to shore as I was going to instruct my crew to ready the boat.

Her nimble, flawless motions made my eyes light up.

I felt both relieved and pleased.

My feelings were complex.

"Mr.Stephan Buther, will you also swim?"

Daina smiled and swam to me.

Seeing her secure, my throat tightened.

I praised God for blessing her.

I'm pleased she's okay.

"Hey!"

I extended a hand.

She grabbed my hand and climbed ashore with my help.

She collapsed into my arms when I lifted her.

I hugged her after hesitating.

Her delicate scent put me at peace.

Daina twitched.

My reply spooked her.

I leaned back and admired the beautiful girl before me.

My heart raced.

"Daina, don't you know to workout with your coffeem?"

I intended to give her a lesson but was strangely nice

Daina spit

"If anything happens to you, what will I tell my mother?"

I coldly eyed her.

Daina wore a one-piece bikini, exposing her limbs.

I couldn't stop looking at her lovely skin.

Restraining myself, I slipped my coat over her shoulders.

Seeing Daina's surprise, I said uncomfortably, "Don't worry. I'm only scared you'll freeze to death. If that occurs, my mother will blame me."

"Really? We're only friends."

Daina smiled.

"Mr.Stephan Buther, I'll have to borrow your coat. I need to change my clothing."

"I'll drive you!"

I didn't want to let her go because I was concerned.

"Isn't that inconvenient?Mr. Stephan Buther, you're busy"
