Chapter 72- Word On A Map
The councils reacted and immediately scrambled to the side when they assumed Polly was indeed going to haul the chair at them, but she didn't. Polly herself was stupefied by their reaction, her eyes widening at their unexpected retreat, and she bit back a laugh.
She pointed at the council members, turning her head to Rafael, "look, they're begging."
She dropped the chair and picked up the champagne bottle on the table, opening it with a pop, and she turned to the bewildered Rafael. She extended her hand forward, which he held without hesitation, and she took him out of the room.
Once she was gone, the council members cautiously returned to their positions. One of them peeked out from the door to ensure she was completely out of sight before calming his anxious nerves. He returned to his seat, and a tense silence filled the room.
Not even Blake could comprehend exactly what happened, and his body was literally shaking.
