22...Mate green eyes...

I was back to my bedroom to get ready for the ceremony at the temple.

I flicked my gaze to the left to assess the first outfit on the bed. I tapped my chin before flicking my gaze to the right, assessing the second outfit.

One was a simple tight crazy white jeans and a blue fashionable crop top while the other was a short fashionable gown, blue in colour too and designed in white. I was confused about which to put on.

The last time I was torn between two outfits like this was the time Pete invited me to the teenage party years ago to be his date and I'd wanted to impress him.

[Flashback]

I tapped on my chin, thinking about the outfit to chose as I wanted to look my best for Pete. I want him to see something good in me and at the same time, I didn't want it to seem like I was trying too hard to impress him.

I ended up picking the high waist Jeans and crop top which looked like a good choice. I think.

At the party, Pete would not take his eyes off me, but I felt like it was not just Pete who stared at me. There was a particular green eyes on me but when I secretly turn to look at him, his eyes would be somewhere else, checking out girls throwing themselves at him and that made me wonder if he was really staring at me or that was just my imagination.

Barry was in his usual black black attire. A black round neck shirt, black leather jacket and a baseball cap turned backwards. The small round earrings, also black in colour completed his bad boy looks.

Most people were dressed wild, making me look like one of the innocent ones at the party, but I didn't care since I captured the attention of the person I wanted. Pete.

"You look beautiful, Pixie" Pete complimented after he had checked me out like the fifth time.

I smiled shyly "Thank you"

Yeah, I wanted him to see that beauty. I bit my lip hard as I remembered how Barry complimented me back in his bedroom. He'd made me believe I was beautiful when I thought I wasn't.

For some stupid reasons, I wanted to give him a quick glance but I decided not to give in to that temptation and focus on Pete.

"You don't look bad yourself" I commented, giving pete a once over as we sat on a bench.

"Awwww, I'm blushing" Pete mimicked a feminine voice. I checked his face and saw that it had little tint of red on it. He was truly blushing.

He had put on a round neck shirt white in colour, wore a jean jacket atop it and then a dark blue jean trousers. His eyes were more beautiful with that cute outfit and even in the dark, they popped out.

I grinned at Pete as I concluded in my mind that he was very handsome. I threw my face away from his direction to hide my blush. As I was about to turn my face back to him, my eyes caught Barry's face and locked with his green eyes which were twinkling in the dark, and that wiped off my smile instantly.

He maintained eye contact with me like we were holding a competition for it. Unfortunately for me, he was so good at it making it so hard for me to win.

Asshole.

Feeling irritated, I rotated my head back to Pete.

"I'm curious about something, Pixie" Pete said with a teasing smile and I wondered what his question would be. "Why are you still single?"

Oh, is that what he's curious about? I managed to smile back at him even though half of my mind was on someone else. I don't know if the guy with the twinkling green eyes was still staring at me with his bold expression.

Strangely, I can perceive his cinnamon scent from where I sat. I don't know if that was my little wolfy part of me bringing out its sharp abilities or this was just something else, involving Barry and I alone.

"You seem distracted" Pete observed.

I chuckled nervously. Pete always seems to know when something is off with me. I have a feeling he knows when I'm lying to him also.

"I just caught a scent, that's all" I said truthfully, though I didn't go into details even when I knew Pete wanted details. "So why I'm still single?" I quickly asked to divert the 'scent' topic.

"Yeah." Pete's eyes went deep into mine as he spoke. "You're very beautiful, hot and smart, so I just can't help but wonder why you don't have a boyfriend"

Beautiful, hot and smart? All for me?

I bit back a wide smile threatening to spill out."You think I'm beautiful and hot?" I asked to confirm what I heard. "And smart?" I added.

Pete's gaze ran over my body briefly. He does not do that before, he always tries to keep things simple and unromantic between us, but today was different.

I felt heat rushing from my neck up to my cheeks, I just hope Pete does not notice, but when he smiled at me, I knew right away that he did notice the blush. He saw it and that even increased the heat on my cheeks.

He slide his thumb over my left cheek, his eyes twinkling with admiration as he did "You are cute"

Feeling timid, I tore my gaze away from Pete's face to look the other way, only to have my eyes land on Barry's body. Fuck, not again.

Fortunately, he wasn't looking my direction so I could observe him freely and he won't know I have my eyes on him.

He was saying something to his friends, demonstrating with his hands as he talked. I could see the shiny bracelet around his manly wrist and then his laughter brought my attention to his face.

I got a view of his good white set of teeth that made his laughter very beautiful in the dark. He looked so carefree with his friends, but somehow, it still looked like he wasn't free. My eyes zoned in on him and I could see that the joy people could see in the laughter was not totally reaching his eyes. He was having half happiness, laughing with his friends that way, pretending to have full fun, or maybe he was hoping he could really have the fun.

I blinked at him and decided it was time to take my eyes off him, but I didn't have the inner power to do that. Something strange far down in me keeps stopping me.

Barry soon stopped laughing, but had a wide smile plastered on his face, popping out his dimples.

He suddenly rotated his head to the side and his eyes connected with mine again. His smile wiped off to be replaced with a confused frown.

Shit, shit, shit. He caught me staring.

I quickly fixed my gaze back to Pete, my temperature rising and half of my head occupied with Barry's images.

I need a distraction. I should not be thinking about Barry when I'm with Pete.

Pete drank from the cup of alcohol in his hand and started to say something but my eyes were on the cup he was holding. I needed that alcohol in the cup to feel normal again.

Pete soon noticed where my attention was and asked, gesturing the cup towards my face "You want some?"

I quickly nodded.

Pete handed me the cup which I gladly drank from and was ready to gulp down the whole content in it if he had not stopped me.

"Hey, hey" Pete gently pressed his smooth palm on my arm "That's enough"

"You don't need this alcohol" I gestured to the cup "It can't get you drunk since you're a full werewolf" I said.

Pete smirked "You wanna get drunk?"

I grinned "I wanna have fun!"

He grabbed my hand to get me up from the bench "Follow me"

I walked side by side with him, his hand wrapped around mine, making me smile and blush.

He got two cups of drinks. One for him and the other for me. I quickly finished the previous and started with the new one Pete got for me.

"I want you to have enough fun with me" He said, grinning.

I giggled and drank more from my cup. The music soon turned the party wild than it was minutes ago. Pete held my free hand, showing his white teeth in a bright smile.

"How good is your dancing skills? Mine is very bad" He brought me closer to his body by dragging me gently by my wrist.

I laughed, staring at Pete as he also got very free with me. He spinned me with his free hand making me squeal happily, but despite that, I felt something within me trying to remind of Barry. It was like it wanted me to check his emotions, to observe him, to savor moments with him.

I ignored that feeling and focused on Pete. He is my date. I've always wanted him close to me and now that I have that, I shouldn't ruin it.

I soon finished my drink and started to eye Pete's cup. Pete noticed that and chuckled.

"You can't drink this one, Pixie " he gestured to the cup "Its mixed with wolfsbane, purely made for full werewolves"

I pouted, earning another chuckle from him.

"Dont worry, I'll get something for you. Just stay here" Pete said, walking away while I stood on a spot, waiting for Pete to appear with my drink.

I looked around my surroundings, taking in details. I saw how wild everyone has gone, how the party has turned, and then....how Barry kept conversing with a girl on sitted on his lap who now had his baseball cap on her head.

I rolled my eyes, the feeling of irritation returning in seconds. I squeezed the red plastic cup in my hand before throwing it to the sandy ground in anger.

I don't have the right to be annoyed, we have our separate lives to live in any way we wish to live it. If thousands of girls sits on his lap and break it, which I'm praying they do one day, it's none of my business.

Soon, Pete came back with my drink in hand and I forgot about Barry, but I knew that was just temporary. I knew my mind was gonna drift back to Barry sooner or later. And that, will put my heart in trouble.
