Chapter 7

Avura instantly brought her pen knife out ready to strike anything that appears before her.

"What is wrong?" Leo asked in fear as he didn't understand why she was bringing her pen knife out ready for battle.

"You mean you can't hear anything?" Avura asked offended by his question.

"No I don't. I am human don't forget" Leo reminded her.

"Of course She softly replied him. Keep quiet I don't need any distraction from you." She warned him.

She listened carefully as the sounds became clearer and nearer. She was more confused because the sound was coming from different direction. She reasoned she was surrounded by whatever was coming to attack her. She couldn't tell what kind of is specie was coming to attack her she could tell they were not vampires nor purely humans.

"Its better to hide" Leo suggested on seeing the fear in her eyes.

She quickly took a hiding position under a table very close to the kitchen not too far from window incase she needed that route for escape. In her rush to escape she didn't see where Leo picked as his own hiding spot.

It was one of Master Dee teaching to her to always study ones enemy especially if they were totally unknown.

She watched as a number of werewolves walked into the castle from different directions. She wondered what would have attracted the wolves to the castle when before her eyes they transformed back into humans. It occured to her that has come face to face with a specie Master Dee had always talked about but she had never seen. The werewolves. It was rumoured the one bite of a werewolf can kill a vampire. The thought of that made her shiver as she understood she was totally outnumbered.

"I can perceive the presence of a human and a vampire in this room" Tyler spoke looking around the room.

"What will a human be doing here" Marcel asked confused on the smell he was getting also.

"I don't know but check everywhere thoroughly" he ordered his pack as they went into frantic search.

In no time they were able to find Leo. Avura watched as they dragged Leo out roughly ignoring his pleas to the one who seem to be their leader to her.

"Who are you? " Tyler asked looking at him intensely he could tell he is the human.

"My name is Leo, I am just a cook here I have committed no offense" Leo trembled.

"Where are those vampires? " Hale asked holding him roughly by the collar .

"Gone, they are all gone' Leo nervously replied almost wetting his pant.

"Let him be" Tyler instructed, he is not amongst the killers the king asked us to look for.

"For how long have they gone? " Tyler asked agained..

"They left very early this morning, I swear I am the only one here" Leo swore making Avura wonder why he was taking so much risk for her.

"You are lying' Hale yelled punching him directly to the face blood immediately gushing out of his nose.

"Stop Marcel" shouted, he is just a kid he defended.

"He is lying to us, I can smell the presence of someone else in this room and if he doesn't speak I will slit his throat now" Hale threanted bringing out his claws.

Tyler stop him Marcel pleaded. Won't you say anything? Marcel pleaded looking at Tyler . But Tyler maintained his cool he was more concern about the extra presence he could feel around him.

As Hale made attempt to carry out his threat Avura was forced to speak from her hiding. She couldn't watch Leo die because of her.

"Stop! Stop! " She yelled coming out with her hands in the air.

"Let him go, he doesn't know anything and he he has done nothing bad. "

"And who are you? " Tyler asked as he prepares himself to attack her.

"My name is Avura, let the boy you can have me even if I have not committed any crime. "

Hale moves cautiously towards her as he let's go of Leo. Avura stretched her hands forward so they could easily tie if they needed to. Hale reached for her hand and tied it with a rope laced with vervain.

That's painful Avura protested in pain but he simply ignored her as he walked away from her. Avure knew there was no need struggling because it would be of no use.
