“If we did that every time one of us wanted to, we’d never see the sun. We could stop the yacht right here and save the expense of St. Lucia.”

“Hmm,” I thought out loud, “but you bought me all those clothes.”

“Damn! Then I guess we’re going to have to keep going.” 10

We pulled into Castries Bay late afternoon on Saturday. Sherman talked to the harbormaster and we were allowed to dock. While they were securing the boat, another government official came on board and checked all our passports.

Car and I stood on the deck, watching everything happen around us. The beauty of the place astounded me. Lush, green foliage was everywhere and beautiful flora scented the air. Further onto the island, the giant peaks of the Pitons thrust skyward. It took my breath away.

“Are we going anywhere else around the island?” I asked.
