“You’d better get out of here, Jack, before I have to fire you.”
Jack’s eyes widened even more. He looked at Car, then back at me. “Yes…right…I’m sorry.” He closed the door behind him and we heard him rushing down the stairs.
Car broke out into a raucous laughter. “That’s a first. I’ve never seen him tongue-tied before.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t wear something like this.”
Car shook her head. “Maybe you should get used to people looking at you like that.”
“It’s embarrassing.”
“You’ll get used to it, because I love it. I love to see someone admiring what I have…people seeing what I’m seeing, well, not all that I’m seeing. Try on some of the others.”
