Shadow

Ahhhhh....

A loud scream filled with pain resonated through out the entire cave, shaking everything even the mountain range it was located in.

But no matter how loud the screams could get. it couldn't get past an energy shield that lied at the edge of the mountain range. It just bounced off and no life form beyond the shield could ear anything.

"He he he... what are you going to do now shadow?"

In the dimly lit room a middle aged man with white hair and an average build wore a sinister grin as he spoke to a black hair youth.

He had what one would call an arrogant look and looked at the black haired youth with disgust

The black hair youth who was tied to a chair, had his head face down as blood dripped out of his nose and mouth, his face was all bloodied from all the beatings and torture he had received for the past few hours.The blood on him formed a vast contrast with his handsome face and features.

He looks to be around 20 years of age, but was in fact only 18 year old. The slim figure he possessed was charming and would make any girl who set eyes on him deeply shocked and probably scream with glee.

This was Josh Gray a notorious guy who was known for completing many dangerously difficult missions and coming out alive

"The young master told me to take good care of you and that's what I'll do". The middle aged man continued with his arrogant demeanour when he saw the pensive state of the youth nicked named shadow.

Josh raised his head slowly as he gazed at the middle-aged man coldly.

"Pu" Josh spat blood at his face and said...

"Why don't you tell that bastard Carmin to show him self, I have nothing to say to the dog of the Salt family".

"You..." The middle aged man always suddenly flushed with anger as he unleashed a barrage of punches at Josh. only stoping after he had calm down.

Obviously it had hurt his pride.

pant...pant..pant....

The middle man breathed heavily. His fist covered in blood.

"Boss, why don't you leave this trash to us, you should rest" a man in black clothing that obscured his face said to the middle-aged man.

"Yeah boss you should rest because of the last battle you just fought, your injuries haven't fully healed yet" said another subordinate.

"It seems you don't know what situation you're in....." he said then continued.

"Ok, then I want you to let this bastard know what type of situation he is in!" he spoke darkly as he was escorted through another passage.

"Yes boss" they saluted as he left. The man who talked first waved his hand and summoned some people who had been hiding in the dark spots of the dimly lit room. All of them were wearing black clothing that his their identity and carried malevolent aura. Counting them they were 13 in number.

"Don't worry punk you're in good hands now". One said as he cracked his knuckles.

Josh spat out the blood in mouth and calmly looked at them. He then revealed a cold grin as he said "I give you guys 15 seconds to surrender yourself to me and beg for mercy...or else..."

"..."

"HaHaHa...."

All 13 of them burst out in laughter after a bout of silence.

"HaHaHa... good one, good one"

"It seem we've beaten him a little too much, his brain have been turned upside down"

"Hey Hey, I surrender....HaHaHa"

"Say, why don't we beat him again to see if he will regain his senses!"

"What a lunatic, even though he is at a disadvantage he still doesn't fear... as expected of shadow!"

"Well then it will be an honour to be the one who puts an end to his fame!"

"Tch, I thought you were tough why don't you fight back!"

"This guy can still talk big after this damn he his making me more angry!!!"

They hurled curses at him and punched and tortured him...his state getting more miserable. If not for the hellish training he had gone through he would have even probably pass out from the pain.

But in spite of all this, he still retained his weird smile.

"It here" he muttered slowly under his breath.

But sadly they were to busy mocking and torturing him to ear what he said. There were even faint trembling of the surroundings but still non of them fought any harm could to them in here.

After all there was a gigantic energy shield around if any enemy came close they would be discovered and dealt with.

Also, the Salt family was one of the most powerful family in this town who would want to mess with them.

"10…"

Josh started a countdown

"Huh? what are you doing?"

"Are you really not even feeling any pain!!!"

They noticed his count down and started questioning him with more ridicule in their eye.

He continued with his consciousness seemingly fading away.

"damn!!! you never get tired of old jokes right!!!"

"..."

At this time they were truly speechless.

"Leader, let's use that on him!!!"

The subordinate gazed changed as he said this.

"Y...you couldn't possibly mean it right..."

"But that is supposed to be used in an emergency or when interrogating high leveled guys"

Even the leader was flustered.

"Look it will be an emergency if we don't find out why he his counting".

"All right". The leader finally agreed and they brought out a weird instrument. It was a cube that had a dark blue luster along with many smaller cubes which intertwined with each other.

" Cool instrument but unfortunately you won't be able to use it"

Josh said and his smile got wider as the tremors got even intense!

"W...what's going on?" the gang in black were suddenly agitated.

The leader suddenly lunged at him trying to touch him with the cube as he.
