Great Sahara Desert
"Are you sure it's in this place, Nathaniel?" Sebastian Shaw asked seeing that in the place there was only a vast desert.
"This is the place, humans like to hide the embarrassments of the past, that's why there is no evidence of this place in the ancient records of the Egyptians"
"My men only found this place due to an explorer who found this place by chance" Nathaniel Essex said as he continued to advance.
Sebastian Shaw says no more and follows him.
As they moved forward, Nathaniel Essex stops and says:
"I really underestimated Alex Wayne"
Confused by his words Sebastian Shaw asks:
"Something happened?"
"Yes, Alex Wayne and his people have defeated all the Marauders" Nathaniel answered indifferently.
"I see, for him to have defeated them, you're right that Alex Wayne shouldn't be underestimated" Sebastian Shaw said surprised.
He knew well the power of the Marauders and that they have been defeated means that the enemy is strong.
"Once we finish here, we will personally take care of him" Nathaniel said.
"You're right, that guy is proving to be a nuisance" Sebastian agreed.
Continuing forward the two reaches to some small ruins.
"We're finally here" Sebastian Shaw murmured.
Entering the ruins, they found what looked like a passageway, using his powers Nathaniel removed the huge stones that had obstructed the entrance.
When he finished, they entered through it.
Reaching the end of the underground passageway, they came to a kind of chamber.
Looking around Nathaniel Essex says:
"This place is too strange, it seems too advanced for its time"
"I don't find this place strange Nathaniel, what do you mean?" Sebastian Shaw asked.
"Those lines on the walls are not really lines but paths of energy and by design, even when it is destroyed, they point in that direction and I can say that the remains of the supposed god are in that place" Nathaniel said as he pointed to a path to his left.
Advancing in that direction the two came to an almost destroyed room.
And to the surprise of both of them, in the middle of that room there is a kind of cocoon made of energy threads.
They can see the silhouette of a person inside that cocoon.
"Fascinating, this place is not a tomb but a kind of sleep chamber" Nathaniel said while looking around.
"Wait, you mean that supposed god is not dead but in a long sleep, that means he can wake up at any moment" Sebastian Shaw said vigilantly.
"You don't have to worry Sebastian" Nathaniel said as he approached the energy cocoon.
"What are you trying to do?" Sebastian asked.
"What else? I'm going to wake him up and find out what he knows about mutants"
Seeing the excited Nathaniel, Sebastian was helpless and could only watch as Nathaniel released a large amount of psychic energy and launched him against the cocoon.
The being inside the cocoon trembles for a moment and slowly opens its eyes.
Apocalypse had woken up.
