My Bestfriend is Human

"What do you mean? Why did you hide this information from us?" Bryan was looking frustrated because of Reese's choice to keep it from them.

"All I had were suspicions about him until yesterday; I had confirmed everything because of his drunken friends."

"I knew the two were fighting so I asked our people to locate Yhuan, and they gave me his location and apparently they were in a bar. I sat near them, oh boy, they sure can drink a lot. After Yhuan was brought home by one of his friends, those who stayed there started spilling the beans."

Reese was laughing thinking about what she had to go through just to get information.

"I must admit you are quite bold for doing that, you deserve an award" Bryan laughed too; he realized that Aila is indeed a lucky person to have Reese by her side.

"Now thinking about it, back in high school, he was always there behind us at the school grandstand; I suspect that's when he started stalking Aila."

"Are you planning to keep it from Aila?"

Reese looked directly at Bryan; her piercing gaze made him a bit uncomfortable.

"What would you do Bryan?" She knew it wasn't an easy question to answer, but she needs an unbiased insight.

"Would Aila love him less if she finds out?"

"Why would you care if she would love him less? Don't tell me you have a thing for Aila too." Reese's tone was confrontational.

"Silly girl, Aila is like a little sister to me, I wouldn't dare look at her in any other way. I was just wondering if it would make her love him less; then I would like Yhuan to confess about it directly and just hear it from us."

Reese sighed as she confirmed that Bryan is not into Aila; she actually finds him someone who has potential… her potential boyfriend.

"beep..beep"

It is already 12 noon when Aila's alarm went off. Reese shook Aila to wake her up and turn off the alarm. She stretched her back and arms; she stared at Aila for a while and smiled, she was caught by Aila.

"What was that for? Are you laughing at my heartache?" Aila threw a pillow at Reese.

"Crazy! I could not help but smile at the realization that my best friend is indeed human." Aila's eyebrows drew together, trying to grasp what Reese just said.

"…" Aila.

"I never knew you could look like a mess too. Hahaha" Reese stood up and handed Aila a mirror.

She found herself so hideous she almost screamed. Her hair was all over the place; she had traces of her eyeliner dripping on her face.

"I can't look like this; I am meeting Yhuan later at 4 PM!" She screamed and quickly went to the shower.

Reese went back to bed to continue her sleep; almost an hour later Aila finally came out of the shower. She was quiet not wanting to wake up Reese, who looked so tired. Aila started to look for the perfect make-peace outfit. She chose a simple white haltered top and a blue flip skirt; she looked rather elegant with her wardrobe choice today.

Aila was nervous, there are so many questions running through her mind right now it might explode. Reese pretended to be asleep as she did not want to have another heart to heart talk with Aila; she might get a hard time preventing herself from revealing what she just confirmed about Yhuan.

As soon as Aila went out of her room; Reese also prepared to go out, she decided to go with Bryan to be there for Aila just in case things go south.

Aila arrives in the vacant classroom, the one Yhuan told her about. She found him sitting on one of the chairs; the room was so quiet her footsteps made an echo. Aila wasted no time and went directly to ask Yhuan. 

"Love, are you still mad at me?" Aila was trying to figure out Yhuan's current mood because that simple phrase was Yhuan's weakness before.

"I already know everything Aila" It was as if cold water had been poured on Aila's head, she was just planning on telling him about her identity, could it be the reason why he is mad at her? Aila walked closer and wondered how to explain it to Yhuan; why she did not tell him about it.

"Why can't you answer? How did you manage to fool me for so long Aila? I loved you so much; I've sacrificed so much for you"

Yhuan was looking intently at Aila when his eyes were flooded with tears; it is obvious that he is hurting.

"I'm sorry Love, I hope you understand that I cannot just tell anyone about this."

Aila touched Yhuan's face to wipe away his tears away, but he moved away from Aila. With Yhuan's action, Aila started to blame herself for not trusting him right away; he is hurting because she did not trust that he could handle such truth.

"You've always said that I should trust you, but what did you do? You just made a fool out of me!"

Yhuan continued to sob, Aila tried to hug him, but again he moved away.

"Love I did not intentionally fool you, I just hid the truth from you, but I did not lie to you"

Yhuan shook his head as he was not convinced of Aila's explanation.

"How is that any different? Hiding the truth and lying? It's the same Aila; please don't act pure and demure on my face because you disgust me."

Yhuan's words are becoming harsher, Aila is not sure if she can handle more of his tirades.

"I said I'm sorry and I stand by my words; I did not lie to you Yhuan; why do you keep insisting that I did" She wants answers from Yhuan but all she's getting is his wrath.

"What do you mean you did not lie? You clearly told me your parents are not home that's why you cannot introduce me to them yet; or is it just because I am poor and as I've just recently discovered; you are actually filthy rich."

"Where is the lie in that? That's true, they are not here, how can I introduce them to you?" Aila placed her hand at the back of her neck as she was pacing, she's getting frustrated with Yhuan's behavior.

"You still dare lie to my face?" Yhuan slammed his hand on the table.

Aila was shaken; there was a sense of intimidation on Yhuan's part, she was rendered speechless.
