I woke up and texted Emily.
Josh: Good morning. How did you sleep?
Emily: Good morning, I slept okay. What about you?
Josh: I slept okay.
Emily: That's good.
Josh: Yeah.
I then turned off my phone and got ready for the day to go to school, which I didn't even want to go to. Like 30 minutes later, I texted her again.
Josh: Hey
Emily: Hi
Josh: What are you doing?
Emily: Making my breakfast. What about you?
Josh: Just texting you.
Emily: Hmm, okay sure.
Josh: What, I'm not lying.
Emily: Okay, sure.
Josh: Bruh, I'm being serious.
Emily: Whatever, bye. Love you.
Josh: What?
I looked at my screen in shock. Did she mean that or was she joking? I felt my face heat up. Anyway, I grabbed my backpack and began to walk down to my bus stop. Then my bus came. I walked on and sat down in my seat, then pulled out my phone again and decided to text her.
Josh: Hey, how was your breakfast?
I waited for a reply, hoping she would answer quickly. She didn't, so I sighed and left the app. I pulled out my earbuds and opened Spotify. I checked the song I left off on, which was "Mommy's Little Monster" by Social Distortion.
I turned off my phone and put it back in my pocket. I just sat there listening to music and was slowly falling asleep. Then I felt my phone go off, waking me up. I grabbed my phone and looked at the text.
Emily: Hi, it was pretty good. Did you eat?
Josh: No
Emily: Did you want something to eat?
Josh: No, it's fine. I'll just eat lunch at school.
Emily: Are you sure?
Josh: Yeah
Emily: I'll give you something anyway.
Josh: You don't have to.
Emily: Hmm, okay.
The conversation seemed to stop from there. So, I slid my phone back into my pocket and fell asleep again. I was awoken when the bus stopped at the school.
