Afitera: Age of Darkness

He was treated like a pig by everyone else, he earned life with no joy at all. In all of his years of living in the world, he never received sympathy or the feeling of a human who was held deep in affection by anyone.

He Who Matters To Me

Above a hill, a castle can be seen. A girl is running in its massive hallway, and a wide smile can be seen on her face as she continues to run.

A boy steps out of a room, and his eyes divert to the other direction. "Lumina, stop running! You might harm yourself!"

She halts right in front of his eyes, and she turns toward the boy with a wide smile, she speaks, "Don't stress yourself, Ferian. I will continue to be in an excellent state so don't worry about me too much."

Ferian moves his eyes aside and pouts. "I'm not worried about you! It's just I hate to hear you cry while being treated with medicine."

Lumina turns aside and begins to run once again whilst Ferian's eyes grow wide while he moves them toward Lumina.

Ferian raises his hand and points his index finger at her. "Lumina! You! You are a disobedient girl! Idiot!"

Lumina releases audible laughs and it echoes throughout the whole hallway.

"Dear me." Ferian opened his mouth and inhaled deeply and exhaled after a short matter of seconds.

The years pass by, and Lumina grows into a young woman; she has long dark hair with white streaks, her eyes are silver, her skin is pale, and her body is splendid to the naked eye.

She is presently walking inside a village.

Her eyes land on a chapel, and her eyes widen as they twinkle at the sight of a young man wiping a piece of clothing on the glass window.

Fragments of her memory flow inside her mind, and she remembers the voice of a young woman telling her. "Once you see the right man, everything will move slowly as if time stops for both of you."

The young man moves the clothing away from the glass window, hence, he turns around and sees the sight of the young woman gazing at him as her red-coated lip is open a bit.

A man steps in between the eyes of Lumina and the young man, and after the man walks across them: Lumina was no longer to be seen and so the young man moves his eyes everywhere.

"Where did she go? Does she want something from me?" he turned around and continued to clean the glass window.

The day passes by, the sun begins to descend from the skies and the moon rises to the horizon.

Lumina is standing in front of a wagon. She moves her hands toward her bosom; she embraces her hands as she inhales deeply.

"I think I found the right man that I yearn for, but I'm not contented with what I did," she said.

"Lumina, you're deemed to attend the ceremony of Ferian," a middle-aged woman halts near her, "Ferian is going to be sad."

Lumina's lip curves upward as her eyebrows arise a bit. "I gave him a present, don't worry about it."

Meanwhile, Ferian is holding a box, and his eyes widen.

"My goodness," he picks a paper inside the box, "what is she doing?!"

A picture of him with a drawn mustache and big eyebags can be seen on the paper.

Ferian put the paper back in the box, moves his eyes upward, and smiles softly.

Inside a forest, inside a carriage, Lumina is sitting on a chair facing a desk while writing words on paper using a quill dipped in ink.

"Dear, diary, I've finally found the one that I want to end my life with," her lip curves upward as she chuckles, "I want to know more about him and how a human like him dwells in this world."

Thereupon, Lumina is ambling inside the village as her eyes are fixated forward.

Her eyes narrow as her feet slowly stops moving, and in front of her, a young man is being confronted by Ferian.

Lumina clenches her hands as she runs toward the two men. The young man's eyes widen at Lumina.

Ergo, Lumina, and the young man are walking in a certain direction. People around them are taking a quick look at them and then Lumina moves her eyes toward a certain civilian.

The civilian turns his eyes aside as he fastens his movement as his hands are trembling.

Lumina moves her eyes toward the young man and she raises her hand and moves it toward his back yet she ceases the movement of her hand.

Lumina moves her hand from him, and she looks away from him; she fixates her eyes on the sky.

"May I know your name?" Lumina asked.

The young man moves his eyes aside as his breathing accelerates, and voices begin to echo in his mind.

"You'll always be a nuisance to the people of this community! And to their eyes!"

"What are you thinking?! Do you think that people will acknowledge you as their kind?!"

"You don't deserve to have a friend! Those who like to be your friend will just die–"

His eyes widen and he moves his eyes beside him and sees a hand settled on his shoulder.

Lumina is staring into his eyes. "Something is bothering you, am I right?"

"My name," his lip is trembling and he looks away, "you must not know my name… you'll die once I tell you about it."

Lumina stops walking and Afitera does the same. The young man moves his eyes toward her and witnesses Lumina staring at him.

"When I look at you, I can see multiple sufferings," her lip curves upward as she utters short soft laughs, "no need to be worried about my death, it is my honor to know your name."

"W-Well." the young man stopped uttering and his lip trembled once again.

He looks down and speaks, "My name's Afitera."

After the sun sinks and the moon rises, Lumina is sitting on a chair facing the desk, and the moonlight shines through the window in front of her.

"My heart is joyful for I finally know his name, he has something that I want," she writes her thoughts on the pages of her diary using her quill, "there's something deep about him, something that my bare eyes cannot perceive."

Henceforth, after many days, inside a room, Lumina is standing in front of a man sitting on a throne.

"I heard you fought against Bene! What a shame to hear that from my right-hand servant," the middle-aged man narrows his eyes at Lumina whose silver eyes are staring at him, "is there something that you want to reveal here in my domain–!"

Lumina narrows her eyes, her eyebrows begin to meet as veins are appearing on her face, and her hands are closing.

Smokes begin to emerge from her exposed skin, and she begins to step forward; flames begin to emerge where her feet landed.

She halts one step from the throne and remains glaring at him. "Don't question me about fighting that 'precious' right-hand servant of yours.

"If I want to kill him then I will do it immediately. That Bene did something to the one that I value and it infuriates me.

"He should be thankful for I didn't slaughter him, and I only murder those men that touched my precious."

Lumina turns around whilst the middle-aged man is only staring at him with a calm expression painted on his face.

"You've changed," he grins, "you finally used half of your power and yes, I witnessed what you did."

"Half?" Lumina speaks while walking, "that was only 1% of my power."

The middle-aged man remains grinning. "You truly are my daughter, you're just like me."

Lumina stops walking and slowly turns around with colorless eyes. "I am not like you who ate innocent children and watched those who screamed as your men were feasting on their flesh.

"I will never be like you, a heartless monster!"

"Heartless?" the middle-aged man chuckles and points his index finger at her, "this monster helped our clan to strive against the hardships that came upon us!

"You think highly of yourself! You are a part of this clan and as long as you're a part of this clan! You are also a monster like us!"

Lumina turns around and ambles away from the sight of her father.

After that moment, and after several days, inside a wide room, Lumina's hands are handcuffed while sitting on a rusty throne with multiple chains tied to her whole body.

The room has no lights, the aroma of decomposing flesh is filling the entire room, and multiple rats are roaming everywhere.

A creaking sound from the movement of the door echoes throughout the whole room, and a middle-aged woman steps inward the room.

"Pulfa," Lumina uttered in a weak tone.

"Lumina," Pulfa remains standing in front of the open door, "if you should have just listened to me then all of this shouldn't have happened!"

Lumina moves her eyes toward her. "Loving him and protecting him will be my main reason for living in this filthy world!"

"Does he feel the same way?" Pulfa walks toward Lumina, "I implanted my orbs in Ija's skin and I was able to witness something."

Lumina's eyes widen. "What–!"

Pulfa extends her hand toward Lumina's forehead. Lumina's eyes turn violet as she sees a scene.

Lumina is standing in front of Ija and Afitera who are sitting on a bed and they're facing each other.

"What am I doing here?" Lumina touches herself, "is this Pulfa's ability?"

Her eyes broaden upon witnessing Afitera, therefore, she runs toward him and touches him but her hands enter his skin.

"You love Celia?" Ija's eyes are widening, "I can't believe this?! But what about our majesty?"

After a move, his eyes toward the open window beside him and witness flock of a birds flying in the sky.

"I care for Lumina… I care for her as a friend only," Afitera looks down, "I will save her but my feelings for her will remain like a brother's love for his sister."

Lumina steps back bit by bit and her eyes are widening as her breathing accelerates, and then tears begin to fall from her eyes.

"I-I don't accept this! After what I did for you, Afitera!" Lumina yelled.

Meanwhile, Lumina's violet eyes shift to the color of red, and Pulfa steps back from her.

The chains tied on Lumina's whole body begin to radiate red light until it explodes. She arises the throne and it begins to melt, and then her dark hair turns red as her silver eyes do the same.

"From this day onwards," Lumina closes her flaming hands, "he who matters to me will lose everything he values!"

Pulfa looks around her and the decomposing bodies are burning along with the rats, and she moves her eyes toward the wall only to see it scorching along with the ceiling.

Lumina's whole body begins to radiate red light until she releases waves of flames and the whole room explodes.

Tremendous smoke and flames can be seen from the wrecked room, Lumina who has pair of large flaming wings flies out from the large smoke.
