Chapter 13 updated

* Knock knock * "saph, you up?" Jack asks,

" saph, I'm opening the door."

Jack opens the door and sees no one in the room

"saph! Were are you?

…

…

"what, and get out my room." Sapphire reply's from down the hall, with a plate and some kind of meat in her mouth ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) .

"I was just checking on you, how long you been up?"

"A bit, had to do some things." Sapphire reply's with slight annoyance

"what, you think i'd run away, well, I can't, you and dad has my stuff."

Jack has what does that mean look plastered on his face.

"it's true, now I'm going to continue my food, so stop f****ng calling me." Sapphire then walks off.

Jack and Skannon can be seen going down stairs around 30 minutes later.

"you what mate, you want to take this outside."

" Why not right here, right now instead."

Can be heard just before they reach the ends of the stairs

,

"already you two, I have already warned you once." The bartender reply's, next to the 3 way argument a white haired fox beast kin with her ears down, can be seen only caring for the food in front of her, jack and Skannon them go and sit next to sapphire and order their food.

"Saph, when we go home, you want to train in the way of the sword with me?" Jack asked.

"why."

"why not."

"I'm fine with what I got."

"Sapphire, it would be a good idea to have your claws and dagger as secret weapons, so you should have a weapon as your primary." Skannon adds.

…

"I'm good."

"Well, we are doing it anyway saph." Jack says with a grin.

( T_T), sapphire does not respond.

"Anyway saph, do you want to leave today, or do you have 'stuff' to do."

"Can leave today."

…

"ok? Well um that's good, if you feel ready, we just need to buy supplies for the journey back then we can head back, I guess?" Jack responds

Skannon" well, I can do that so why don't you two hang out and we can meet up at the stables to get are carriage in a couple of hours."

"That's a good idea dad, me and saph can catch up." Sapphire just continue to eat.

"Come on saph, let go" jack says cheerfully, as sapphire is dragged by the arm out the door by jack.

" saph, do you know any good spots?"

"No, only went were I needed to."

"Well then, look like it will be an adventure then." a warm smile comes from jack.

Jack takes the lead as he hold onto sapphire hand taking her to places around the city, "excuses me, miss, how much would 4 of these be?"

"Oh, theses kababs cost 5 copper a piece."

Jack them Hands over 20 copper.

"I hope you two love bird like it."

"Why do people keep on saying that." Jack says annoyed

" we don't like like siblings, also you don't need to do this." Sapphire retorts

"I guess, and I know I don't need to saph, but I want to."

"What ever" sapphire retorts, but still eats the two kababs.

After a bit of walking the two siblings go into a weapon shop, sapphire still being dragged around by jack.

"What weapon should we get you?"

"I told you I'm good."

"If you don't pick I will pick for you."

"Then do that then."

"Saph, mmmm, ok." Jack then walk towards the swords and picks out a basic sword.

"saph, can you hold this quickly?"

"Why."

"Just do it, pleeeeeease." Sapphire then begrudgingly take the sword.

"saph, can you hold it like this." Jack then does the thunder-cats sword pose, sapphire does not look amused.

"No."

"Why not saph, it's the thunder cats pose, the best pose."

Sapphire glares at jack " when were you going to tell me?"

"Tell you what saph?"

"That you are like me, or something similar to me, reincarnated or whatever."

Jack instead of replying take out his scroll and take a photo of sapphire holding the sword, looking annoyed.

Walking out the store after buying a basic longsword jack feel like a hole is getting burned through him from the staring he is receiving from sapphire.

"Please stop saph, it's uncomfortable."

…

the staring does not let up

" oh saph, what are you planning on doing when we get home, you can always join me at school?"

"No thanks, don't want to go through school again."

"Why not, it would be fun, you'd get to meat people, make friends, learn stuff, it's useful."

"I'm good on all that, will just try being an adventurer instead of a mercenary."

"Oh, then why did you become a mercenary and not an adventurer?"

" had no money."

"Oh,…." Jack doing his best to not laugh

"Shut up, it's true, what were you going to talk about before the question."

A couple seconds later after jack stops silently laughing at sapphire

"Oh ye, well to be honest ,that is my goal aswell, not the mercenary bit, but the adventurer bit, you know the school I'm at help there as well, like i'm pretty sure I will be a b rank or higher when I get out."

"Good for you, I'm not going to school."

"Oh ok… then why not is a have a spar when we get home, along with a bet, if I win, you go to school with me and get an actual education here so you know what your doing, but if I lose, you do what you want."

"Whatever jack, if you want to."

"Yes, can't wait to show you how much I've improved."

The two siblings go around town doing random things and talking to one another, well, jack talks, sapphire sort of responds, most of the time.

Jack takes sapphire to a bunch of food stalls, potion shops, and talk about how he has his own style that he uses, and not the styles most people are taught and how he is trying to make a new finishing move for his sword style.

After 2 hours Jack decided to head towards the stable to meet up with their dad still holding onto sapphire hand.

If we go into jacks mind and see what he is thinking right now, you could see the reason he is doing this is because, he doesn't want to lose his first friend in this world, and now sister once more and to try and see her smile at least once. He also knows that doing this even if she doesn't want to and does not realise it, can help her recover a bit from what she has been through.

He is trying to be that one friend, that will always be there and do thing with her no matter what. Trying to make it so he can get sapphire to trust him and let her guard down just a bit, so she can have fun again, like they use too, he want to see his sister smile like she use to, when they were kids and be happy, once more.

Skannon" so how are my two children doing." A warm smile on his face

"Great dad, it was fun exploring the city, oh and here you go, somehow they have Cotten candy here."

Handing Skannon Cotten candy, and he can see sapphire munching on some behind jack.

"Thank jack, also if you two eat much more you will become fat you know."

"What the, dad!" Jack responds

Sapphire looks up, looks back down, then continues eating.

"Anyway you two, are you ready, I have everything we need."

Jack responds happily while sapphire just nods

1 month later

"Finally we're back home, I can now sleep in a Soft bed once more!" Jack says excitedly

"Were is this."

" oh this is the city of Osiris, it got its name from the Demon King Osiris the The Sovereign of Winter, because this is were he was apparently defeated, not to sure on it though, as I would of guessed he was defeated in the frozen wasteland.

I also would of thought they would name it after the people who defeated Osiris but I guess not."

"Oh, ok. A bit eccentric on the naming thought I have to say." Sapphire reply's

"Oh, you interested in his title, you are an innate ice mage after all." Skannon say slightly teasing

"What ever." She reply's, not looking up

30 minutes pass and the carriage stops

"We dropping of the carriage here?"

Well ye, this is where we live saph."

"What! When did we get money do buy this."

"Oh, someones getting exited."Skannon reply's

"No! Just, why were we in the frozen forest and not here?" Sapphire reply's not looking at Skannon.

"One reason, we needed to for a mission, another reason, your mum liked it more then here, she says 'it was to fancy for her likes."

"Oh."

Anyway why not have jack show you around the mansion, while I tell the maids about your arrival and how you are going to be staying here." Skannon says as he starts handing the rails to one of the stable keepers that they have.

"After that saph, you didn't forget about the bet here did you?"

"What bet."

"Saph! Really, the sparing one, were if you lose you go to school before becoming an adventurer."

"Don't have a clue what your talking about." Sapphire say slightly higher pitched

"How are you that bad at lying, your voice when higher saph."

"Whatever, fine we will do the bet."

Jack smiles at that.

" soooo, this is the thirrddd bathroom, it has a lovely rubber ducky for you in it when ever you need, and has the pinkest wallpaper as I know you love that colour." A mischievous smile is planted on jacks face.

"I'm going to hit you so hard in our sparing session.

"

"Good luck with that, anyway, down this way is your bedroom, at the moment it's pretty blank, but it has a lovely bed, chairs and desk, if you need I can help with decoration… I know pink, pink all over, with sparkles and rainbows."

"Jack! shut up about the colour pink!"

"Ohh, Ok, but your fine with sparkles and rainbows then."

Sapphire starts to quietly growl at jack. Jack can hear this.

"Ok ok, I'll stop now, I still need to show you the dining room, the kitchen, oh and I need to introduce you to the maids and butlers here, they are all amazing.

Oh and I need to show you the training area and other places."

This take quite a bit of time to do

"Well then saph, now you know the house a bit better, why not head to the training area, so we can go and have are spar."

"Finally, I can hit you now."

"Again, good luck with that saph."

"Are you going to use a sword saph, or your other stuff."

"My other stuff, let me get it from dad."

10 minutes later

"Saph, I thought you ran away with how long you took."

"It take a while to put all my knifes in the holsters ok." She does not look at jack when saying this.

"Well now you look like a bad assassin again, you ready."

"… ye."

Skannon" I will be the ref and remeber the bet you to made. Now on 3 you two fight, there is a maid and butler who know healing magic so go nuts you two."

Hello readers, I slightly changed how I do the sentences look if you like it how it is or you want me to do what I did before please say. I wanted to say this took me a bit longer then it should of and you lot will see jacks stats in the next chapter if you want to, hopefully I can do this fight well let's hope so.

Thank you for being patient with me and not leaving this novel, I hope I can continue making this and that people enjoy it, sorry it not as long as the last chapter but I am just not use to doing this again and was unable to make it longer unless I added the fight, hopefully I can have each chapter at minimum 1500 words or more hopefully if I get better at it 2000 or more consistently but we will see, if anyone has advice on how to do better or tips on what I can improve on from this and previous chapters that would be highly appreciated as I know I need to improve a lot.

ps I realised I had this on male lead not female lead, I was just dumb and didn't see female lead for some reason so I have changed it to the proper lead, and at the moment there will be no romance for the mc sapphire for now, I might try later down the line with her going out with another female. I have no clue how or when I will or if I do this as I don't know how to do romance at all so for now do not expect this to happen for a while or at all.
