True Love? (EDITED)

Matthew POV

I wake up to someone pounding on my door, my brother I assume, telling me to go get ready for class, I groan and roll out of bed.

'Another day, I really shouldn't have stayed up so late playing games, I should've studied, or at least not played games so late...' I think, while slowly eating my breakfast, before quickly running upstairs to get dressed in my uniform.

The uniform was right where I left it, the ocean blue shirt hanging on the door, the khaki pants on the floor, looking like they haven't been ironed, since they haven't, and the final piece of my garment, a formal sweatshirt made of wool, a few shades lighter than my shirt, I quickly slide into my clothes and run downstairs. (If you can't imagine what he's wearing, think Business Casual)

When we walk out, we see a young girl, roughly our age waiting nearby on the sidewalk, I immedietly avert my gaze.

Taking a peek at her I see a girl, roughly of 16 years of age, like me with auburn hair, Constant Sea (Mediterranean) skin [Its a Sea from his world], Dark Blue eyes, and a little less than 6 feet (about 1.8 meters) tall, and radiates this aura of happiness and confidence, making me feel like I can conquer the world. However, she does look familiar, from somewhere...

My brother walks up to her and says, "Hey Matthew! This is Jess, shes told me so much about you and how you've met before! At the store right?" My brother, Alexander asks.

I begin mentally kicking myself for not remembering, I must've really been drawn to that 'Machine'

"Well, anyways, nice to meet you Matthew, maybe we can talk later during lunch?" Jess asks, I shrug, this is excellent!

The rest of the day is quite boring and I'm too busy thinking about Jess, I'm afraid I'm becoming a creep, what will my brother think of me if I tell him that I think of her that way!?!?!

No, I shall not tell him, no matter what, I shall take my secret to the grave!

<20:45:52 - Timeskip, 7 Hours>

At the end of the school day we walk out of the school, and is yet again greeted by the 'Avalanches'.

As we all get ready to part our ways and go home, Jess comes skipping in my direction.

When she finally reached me, she fixes her Auburn hair before asking, "Hey Matt, got any hobbies?"

I shift a little left and right before replying, "y-Yes... i-I enjoy to read."

Good job man! All chicks DIG guys who like reading! ... Right?

While I was internally fist-pumping and celebrating, her smile changes from an expression of joy to a seemingly faking one (kinda like a a grimace), and then she says, "Any others?"

"i... I also got the 'Machine' and some games, and I plan to continue one tonight!"

"hmmm... I never played on one of those, mind if I tag along and try it out with you?" She asks, her expression not really leaving me any room to say, 'No.'

My fist pumping suddenly became internal screams of horrer, I don't really like strangers in my house, especially the girl strangers, but I don't really want to say 'No' to her, she trapped me!

My lip trembles, and says, "Y-y-n-Not today, s-sorry"

I then turn around and go to my brother, I know that what I did was not to do in front of a girl, but I couldn't say yes, but hey! Cut me some slack! I tried!

Narrator POV

Matthew excuses himself and runs home, quickly doing his homework and gets into his favorite clothes, some pajamas.

Matthew then sits down in front of his 'Machine' and opens a game called, "Record of the 2nd Major Northern Wars"

About 30 minutes later he finishes reading the basic lore of the game and completing the tutorials, all pumped and ready to go, he clicks, 'New Game!'

As soon as he opens it starts on a high balcony, suddenly getting hit by fright, he flinches, and accedentally presses the 'Jump' button.

Falling to his death, he groans and presses the 'Restart?' The screen displays, nearly mocking, but Matthew still presses.

After 4 hours, he has explored a minor realm and nearly completed everything availible in the area, when he checks the time, he sighs.

"Darn, its getting late, I really should sleep, maybe I'll have Jess over and try to woo her with something," Matthew mutters.

He saves the game, gets up, and turns off the 'Machine' & the lights before getting into his bed and falling asleep.

Matthew POV

I groan as I wake up and smash the alarm, I've been thinking about the game & Jess all night and now I just wanna sleep... maybe I can take the day off... But then I won't see Jess! I jump out of bed, opening my brother already getting ready to pound the door.

After getting ready, I walk out of the door and go to the collection point of the transport, and again, met by Jess looking at the road [definitely not waiting for an apology :D] .

This time, I yet again muster the courage to speak, "Hey Jess, sorry for yesterday, that was quite rash of me, I apologize."

Jess turns around, "Its fine, but to show your sincerity, you must let me come over today and show me how to play on this 'Machine,' Okay?" She says.

Well that saves me the awkwardness of asking her myself, "Sure..." I mutter

<23:39:22 - Timeskip 6 Months>

Narrator POV

Over the last few months Matthew has developed quite a taste for High Fantasy & Battle Strategy games. Alongside his girlfriend Jess, who seems to lean more to the High Fantasy side.

Over this time they've also gone on dates, and even have 'it' some times, it is common knowledge that the brother of the schools underground owner is in love with her. The only one who doesn't know, is Him, Matthew.

Matthew POV

After another round, which she was recovering from, I took her to the bathroom and told her to clean herself up, after all, she can't go anywhere looking like this.

This time was wierd however, she's been talking about Alexander so much lately, and not too much about me, why? I want to find out.

While she was taking a shower, I looked in her school bag, finding a picture of me in her purse, I sigh, but still not convinced, I keep searching, I then run into this small 'Machine' a new model that was made roughly 2 months ago.

The background picture was an endangered species unique to our town, cute.

Still not convinced, "I'm not being really possessive or obssesive am I? I can't!" I say before trying to unlock her phone, but it doesn't work.

I then open my 'Machine' and try to find a way into her phone, after searching for roughly 2 minutes, I find this 'questionable' site with instructions on how to, it was rather simple, surprisingly, just a basic rhythm of pressing the on and off button.

I then find some messages of her and my brother everywhere, so I wasn't paranoid and possessive! She really does not love me! She loves my brother instead of me! [Being quite brash aren't we?]

I hear the shower turn off, I quickly write a letter telling her to go home, its late and I forgot to study something.

Jess POV

I walk out of the bedroom and run into this letter reading that he was busy and that I should go home without him. Shame, I wanted to say good night.

Oh well, I should be going, I walk myself out and the door locks behind me, odd...
