Chapter 20: Cedric and Who?!

The man with glasses in a fancy white robe with a crest tying it all together walked into the Adventurer's Guild. He was very tall, about 2 meters high and has a slim stature. He was holding a piece of paper on his hand as he walked forward. Everyone knew who he was but few actually saw what he looks like.

"Um... Who's that freakishly tall slender man rip off character?" Well only Goberin is clueless so Troy filled him in on the details, "That my friend is the King's adviser of Evergreen, Cedric The Combat Strategist, he has been working with the King for 20 years"

"*Gulp* T-Twenty years?"

"Yes. Nobody knew how he got into the palace, rumours spread that he just showed up one day and protected the King's daughter when she was being escorted by a handful of knights to the wood where she played but got ambushed by bandits, all of her loyal knights had died, she thought that it was over but one man stepped in and single handedly took out all of the bandits just by touching them with his hands"

"R-Really?"

"Well well... If isn't it Troy the lady's man, quite rare for you to come back to your old adventuring life style again"

"Heh I'm sticking to one lady now, this beauty right here!" Troy said as he pushed Kokoharu forward. They crossed eyes with each other.

"Oh? Miss Kokoharu, a teacher of the University of Magic? My, how unrefined your taste has been"

"Stop with the act Cedric... You're here to deliver emergency quests right? Is something happening?"

"Your guesses are right! Everyone! There has been news of a proclaiming Demon Lord running loose! For all who will be participating in this event to take down this Demon Lord will get to have 3 million gold coins each!" It was rare for a Demon Lord to show up for over a couple of centuries. Because no demon would call themselves that after the last one died fighting for something irrelevant but demons have proved themselves intelligent enough to have some small tribes but never a full Kingdom.

The adventurers in the Guild as well as the staffs all went silence while Cedric hung up the emergency request on the job request board. As he sat down on a seat in the mini bar of the Adventurer's Guild with Troy, Kokoharu and Goberin sitting next to him and asked the waitress to bring him a glass of red wine.

"A Demon Lord, huh?" Troy said as he looked at Kokoharu, "Say, how about we go on one last adventure?"

"Hm?" Kokoharu looked up with confusion before smiling, "Sure! Let's contact the others!" The mission was sent out to all other S-rank adventurers throughout the land and neighbouring islands. The King also informed other Kingdoms as well. Since demons lived far away from the main land of Titan Fall near the Ancient Kraken Kingdom. They rarely sailed out to the open water through the Siren's territory. But they and the Merpeople we're friends for a long time and always have been because they brought them foods, clothings and everything from the main land. There are ruling lords commonly known as Demon Lords but the title is just that. The one who had gone all the way from its treacherous water and battled against many Leviathans and Sirens to get to the main land. The crazy demon was greeted with hospitality but he sent people flying with his magics and announced that he and his people deserved better and asked why the other nations haven't done anything in response to help them. His battles against other nations were well fought but soon got put down by the human mage Merlin. After that incident, every nations tried to help the demon folks but to no avail, the Merpeople said that it was alright since they were the only one who could swim through the Siren's territory so that the other nations wouldn't have to worry about the demon folk's conditions of life.

This however was a different situation. One could only assume that this Demon Lord discovered how to use Teleportation magic, a long forgotten type of magic that scarcely used because of its ability to make one person lose all of their strength and collapse just after a single use of it but its effect can teleport even a city along with them. News and requests were sent out traveling to every Guilds.

Meanwhile in the castel, we follow a girl cladding in white and shiny armour with her helmet held to the side of her waist as she grabbed a torch and began to descend into the depths. Sounds of someone rummaging through stuffs can be heard as the girl walked down the dark and spiral staircase. It was the King who was busy in his castle's basement, digging through some dusty and worn out scrolls one by one. The place was only the size of a peasant's living space but it was packed with boxes containing scrolls and empty vials of different shapes and sizes.

"Father?" The woman stood before him with her torch in hand. She got beautiful long golden hair that reaches down to her waist and enchanting golden eyes, thin red lips and a curvy waist.

"What is it that you called me for?" She said in a hexing voice as she moved closer.

"We got an emergency on our hands, Reene!" There was a couple of torched lit in the room but as Reene approached the King it seemed like the room was lit up even more than before.

"What kind of emergency that you asked me to train our knights?"

"A Demon Lord has just appeared not too long ago..."

"A-A Demon Lord? But aren't those myths and bedtime stories you used to tell me father?"

"No of course not! Everything I told you was real so now leave me be and go train those knights!"

"Alright father! Understood! But will you be joining me and mom in bed for tonight?"

"Oh hoho, no sweetie... This is no time for that! Maybe some other time"

"Understood, father!" The girl named Reene turned on her heels and walked up the dark spiral staircase.

"Now... Where was that ancient scroll on how to guide the Kingdom when there is war on the horizon..."

Meanwhile at the Adventurer's Guild, a lot of different adventurers are arguing with worried faces. Kokoharu, Goberin and Cedric just headed out of leaving Troy alone as he watched and listened to the commotion.

"Heh... Arguing won't help with the situation..." Troy said under his breath as he drank some beer when suddenly...

*Bam*

"Wow~ I can't believe you were able to do that and saved us as well"

"Yeah! We um... we would like to make up to you for saving us~ B-But don't think that I'm doing this because I liked you or anything okay?!"

"Alright alright!" Three person entered. Two were female, one was from the Elven race and the other was from the Beast race more specifically the Feline linage. And one human male with short black hair, black eyes wearing a black robe with white outline and a face of kindness.
