Chapter 2: A Sick Mother

*cough* *cough*

Sounds of someone coughing can be heard as the two approached the door to the cabin.

"K-Krey? Is that you? I've been worried sick! Honestly *cough* , when the other villagers said that you'd gone missing, I was worried you would go to somewhere to find a doctor!"

"Mommmmm!!!!!" Said the boy bursting the door open and running inside, hugging his mother in bed. "I'm *hic* I'm so sorry for making you worried mom! B-But, I've brought-"

*bonk*

"O-Ouch!"

His mother slugs him on the head with little force she has, "Do you even have money? To take the train AND pay for the treatment?"

"W-Well, I promise to pay back someday!"

"*Sigh* What will you do without me..."

"*Ahem* Miss?"

A deep yet calming voice called out to the boy's mother. He took off his hood, revealing a handsome face beneath it. His short blonde hair all curled up, a charming smile with a full row of white shinning teeth. And a giant sword behind him, a testament to his strength as a swordsman.

The woman quickly blushed and looked away a bit.

"My my, Krey~ W-Where did you go and get this handsome man at anyways? Y-You know that I'm always loyal to your father, right? I-I wouldn't even if you got him as a present for me~ *blush*"

"Huh? Oh, he's here to help us!"

"Hmm?"

"My name's Troy, miss! And might I have the pleasure to have yours?"

"*fluster* Oh u-um... *Ahem* I-It's just Ivy!"

"Say, kid... Would you mind letting me and your mother some alone time? I need to inspect her,"

"Huh? Oh, sure!" The boy then turned to his mother, "Don't worry, mom! He'll make you feel better in no time!"

"W-What!?" She said while looking at Troy, "U-Uh, umm... W-What kind of treatments?"

"Special treatments, miss Ivy,"

"Troy! Please, make my mother better!"

"Don't you worry a thing kid... I may not look like it but... I know some thing or two about medicines"

After hearing those words of reassuring, the boy nodded then ran out of the cabin, leaving the two of them behind.

"O-Oh my~ W-What kind of medicines are you gonna use on me?"

"Listen lady... I'm not a doctor but have you eaten anything weird lately?"

"H-Huh?" Seeing his serious face, Ivy couldn't do anything but holding a hand over mouth and blush. "W-Well no... I remembered being bitten by something a few weeks ago..."

"And?"

"After a couple of days, I felt nauseous and hot all over... Now, I'm in a fever and having a few coughs here and there,"

"Looks like nothing too serious, glad that your kid found me or it could've been a lot worse... Now, can you show me where that bit wound is?"

"H-Huh? Oh, sure b-but... *blush* it's near my chest area~" She said as she took off her white shirt, unveiling her beautifully white skin and black bra, near it is the bite mark, the colour is now bluish purple.

"*Blush* S-So, how is it?"

"I knew it, but don't worry... Nothing too serious"

"*Gulp* R-Really?"

"Yeah, I can heal it off with an A-rank healing magic. Do you mind me well um, you know?"

"R-Right *blush*... Healing magic can only work when you touch the wounded area..."

"Yes, ready?"

"I am!"

Troy places his left hand on Ivy's right breast.

"Ahh~"

"With the hand of The Goddess of Life, I bestow you the will to rise again to fight for yours truly! Let there be no pain or sorrow, let there be joy and happiness! Heaven Divine Healing!" He muttered a chant, a greenish light started to appear beneath his hand as the wound started to disappear. Ivy could only stare in amazement as she whispered under her breath "So this is healing magic..."

"Alright, feel any better?"

"Oh, huh? U-Uh, yes I do actually! I thought that only doctors, priests and healers could only use healing magic..."

"Tis tis tis, learning the basics of healing magic is a way to survive as an adventure! True that only the one that you listed are all skilled with high proficiencies BUT we can still learn them, no matter what right?"

"O-Oh... I guess you're right..."

"Honestly, there should be a doctor working in this village if there were to be another case of someone being hurt or sick"

"W-We don't have the funds to hire one to work here..."

"That's a problem... Alright, let's see if I can do something! Is there an Adventure's Guild around here? I hadn't been here before so I wouldn't know,"

"Oh um, it's just in the center of the village... B-But, would you stay here with me *blushes* f-for a bit?"

"Of course not! I'm here to comfort those in needs, especially when they're sick!"

"T-Thanks~"

So the two of them continue to chat away, with Ivy asking him about his adventures to faraway lands and encounters with big monsters. So of course Troy told the tale of his epic adventure saga!

"Hihi, so you slayed a Mountain Giant by only using your bare hands?"

"Well I mean *chuckle* look at these puppies, are they study or what!" Troy said as he's flexing his biceps. Seeing this, Ivy could only blush at his bravery.

"Oh my~ What strong muscles you got there! Must be results from your training, right?"

"Hehe, you gotta train your body in order to get strong! If you get stronger than you can protect yourself AND others around you!"

"Teehehe, yeah you're right~"
