The Life of Royalty (New POV)

"Katrinaaaa! Katrina!" my mother barged into my room. sighed

"Yes, mother?" I replied sweetly. "Please don't say-" my thought was cut short.

"The prince of Rominash is here to see you!"

"Another prince?! Mother you know I don't like any of these boys!" I snapped.

"Watch your tone young woman! Put your new dress on and move it downstairs!" she said angrily and slammed my door.

"I didn't do anything wrong.." I scoffed and shuffled over to my closet, picking the dress out. "I hate this... I hate this... I hate this.." I kept reminding myself. I got dressed and did my hair as lazily as I could. "Come on Katrina," I looked into the mirror. "Just do what you always do. Smile and pretend everything he says is funny then dump him back into his kingdom. Simple enough."I let out another sigh and smiled. Anyone who actually cared about my feelings would be able to tell it was fake.

My mom walked in. "Oh my your smile is beautiful! and that's not the only thing! Come on!" She said eagerly and grabbed my wrist and lead me to the throne room where the doofus was waiting.

"My oh my you're beautiful!" the boy, named Joshua, said. He was gawking at me. It was uncomfortable.

I smiled politely. "Why, thank you, Prince Joshua. I hope you enjoy our lovely kingdom!"'

"Eh, it's fine. May I ask, why do you have a peasant side? It's filthy!" He said rudely. It made my blood boil. I don't know why.

My mom laughed. "Yes I know, but they give us money for 'tax'. they're so gullible. There was a boy named the Lost Spirit. He would steal from us. Although sometimes he sounded like a girl. But we captured him."

She caught my interest with this 'Lost Spirit'. But the conversation was short. Disappointing. Wait. If we captured him, he must be in the cells! I could find out more! Yippie!

After the whole meeting, my mom came to me.

"Did you like him? I surely did! I think he's perfect for you!"

"No, I don't think so... I'll.. think about it." I said hesitantly.

"Alright, good enough. Now leave," she said harshly. Ouch.

"Okay. Bye, I love you."

"Uh-huh.." she said, not paying attention to me anymore, She hurried off.

I looked down and left. I made my way up the many stairs and ran into my brother's room, Joseph. "Joeeeeeeeey!" I whined. He was reading a book.

"Yes?" He answered politely. "I heard someone entered the castle. Was it another?-"

"Yeah..." I said, now upset. "Why does mom always do this?" I looked at him, even though I knew he didn't know.

"I don't know.." He said, expectedly. "But, hey, cheer up. You can just reject them all."

"Not for long..." tears stung my eyes as I sat on his bed. "Remember how dad used to tell all those stories? He acted out all the funny parts, a-and he would stay with us if we had nightmares. He was a good king, and the Peasants and Nobles lived together? We were so happy. Mom was so happy, she cared." I smiled at the sweet memories. They faded, and out came the waterworks. Oh how I miss dad.

Joseph hugged me as he was lost in thought. "I remember. He also gave me something for you. He told me to give it to you when you needed it. I think you need it now." He opened up the drawer to his right and took out a beautiful necklace.

"I love it!" I put it on and smiled at him. I hugged him. "Thank you."

"You are so very welcome, madam Katrina." He said in his silly french accent. It was bad.

I giggled. "You're so silly."

"Now I need to study, out." He said, still in his silly voice.

"Goodbye, Mister Joseph!" I replied in a french accent on my own. I left his room and went to my room, giggling on the way. I felt better. I slept until the middle of the night.

Let's see who this 'Lost Spirit' is.
