Ingenious

Many weeks later, Sora was training like always, his body turned red from the heat and his muscles were twitching and ready to give out at any moment.

Thud!

Falling to the ground heavily, Sora laid on the floor. He turned his body and looked up at the ceiling, relaxing his body and calming his mind. This time, Sora didn't get into a lotus position and directly began to meditate laying down on the floor. His right foot was over his left foot and both his hands were behind his head as he relaxed and meditated.

A small smile formed on Sora's lips.

"Hey! Stop making so much noise! I'm trying to nap!"

Suddenly, the inmate from the cell next to his, began yelling and complaining.

"Every damn day! It's the same loud thud and it happens so many times every day!"

Yet no matter how long the man yelled, Sora was deep in his meditation. Relaxing every fiber and cell in his body.

"Is your mom a bitch or something? Is that why you're making so much noise, huh?!"

"If we weren't in cells, I would have gone over there and knocked some sense into you!"

"Annoying bastard!"

An hour later, the man had long stopped yelling and Sora opened his eyes as he ended his meditation. He stood up and scratched his chin, messing up the small bit of hair he was growing on his face.

His ear twitched and Sora smiled.

Thud…

He walked over to his cell's door and heard the patrolling guard about to pass by.

"Guard!"

Sora called out and the guard was about to ignore the call and continue walking when he realized who it was that called him. He turned and looked at Sora curiously. His boss had told every guard to keep an eye on Sora and hear him out should he ever try to tell them anything.

Now that the moment had arrived, the guard cautiously approached Sora.

"What is it, Prisoner?"

Smiling, Sora told the guard something that made him raise his eyebrows. He took a step back and looked at Sora dubiously before nodding and leaving.

In a room with large screens and many other guards keeping an eye on the screens, there is a horse heteromorph sitting behind a desk. Documents and papers that the horse man had to deal with were laid out on the table.

This is the Captain of the guards, Yamaoka Shig.

Whilst the captain looked at some papers, the door to the room was opened. A guard stepped and walked directly over to the captain.

"Captain…"

The guard walked over and behind the captain before whispering something to him.

Hearing what the guard said, the captain frowned. He furrowed his eyebrows as he let out a sigh out through his horse mouth. He tapped the table, thinking.

"Return to your position, I'll deal with this."

The captain finally said something after a short while of thinking. He waved the guard away, who returned to his job, before grabbing his phone and making a call.

He tapped on the screen and turned around on his chair.

"An interesting request has come in."

Shig, the captain, remained quiet as he listened to the other person on the other side of the phone call.

"Yes, that new prisoner."

Silence ensued once more.

"Great. I'd like to see if what he said is true at all."

Shig smiled and nodded as he listened to the other person. Chucking, Shig placed a hand over the handgun on the holster on his waist, patting it.

"Hm? If he makes any funny moves, we will just have to put him down."

Bang-bang-bang!

"Sora, your request will be granted. You will have to work under the supervision of others."

Opening the door to his cell, Shig entered and looked at Sora with a smirk.

Sora simply smiled. What else could he say?

Good thing the captain isn't an idiot!

Standing up, Sora performed a little stretch, the chains clanking as he did so. He moved and followed behind the guard standing outside the cell whilst Shig followed behind him.

"If what you say works, you will have contributed greatly to the country." Shig suddenly spoke as they walked outside of the cell blocks. He smirked and narrowed his eyes. "But that will not free you from here. You will stay here forever. No one leaves nor escapes Tartarus."

Smiling mockingly, Sora remained quiet.

"Let's get this over with," Shig said with smirk, as he looked at Sora's back.

Sora was led to a large spacious room that appears to have been the guards' break room. Inside the break room, there stood a couple of old men and women at the edge of the room. At the center is a couple of desks pushed together and on top of them is a large array of different electronical components. There is also a large pile of plastic and metal.

"Hmm… This is more than enough," Sora said as he approached the table.

Ignoring what Sora said, Shig approached the men and women standing at the edge of the room. He stood in front of them and looked at Sora as he introduced them.

"These individuals standing behind me, are masters of their arts. From engineering to Quirk biochemistry. They will be overseeing your work and making sure you're not planning anything…"

Shig narrowed his eyes and huffed through his horse nose.

Guards stood at the corners and edges of the room, ready to make a move at any moment to restrain Sora. Walking over to the center position of the guards' formation, Shig stood there, ready.

And under everyone's watchful gazes, Sora simply smiled and sat down on the prepared chair. Grabbing electronic components and a couple of plastic, Sora got to work. With the tools that he was given, Sora began shape the plastic as he cut at it and melted it to give it a form.

The eyes of the engineers and the others lit up with curiosity. They wanted to get closer and see what Sora was planning to do, what his next move will be. But they know Sora is a dangerous individual, they need to keep their distance.

It awed them.

"This is a 16 year old?"

"No… I heard from the guard that he turned 17 not too long ago."

"His strength is monstrous, but his intelligence may be even more."

Shig stood a couple of feet away from the professionals of their respective fields. He furrowed his eyebrows and wondered why he was asked to keep an eye on Sora. Just what did Sora tell his superiors to give him such liberty at Tartarus.

Time passed and the eyes of the experts began to light up from their curiosity. Everything Sora was doing seemed both familiar and new to them.

One hour passed and in Sora's hand, he held a small plastic box.

"It's done."

Sora said as he turned to look at Shig with a smile.

"Turn it on then," Shig said with narrowed eyes.

"It's already on."

Shig frowned.

He didn't feel anything. His body felt the same and their was nothing different about the air or sound. Shig even went so far as to touch his own body and inspect it. Yet there was nothing, he was even suspecting that Sora was just messing with them all, at least until a guard started panicking.

"My Quirk! It's gone!"

"Huh? That's impossible…"

"Mine is also gone! What's going on?"

At the point, more guards started to panic and worry. The experts grew confused at the reactions of the guards and decided to try and use theirs, yet they could hand do anything. Their Quirk didn't respond to their call, it was like there was something interfering with their quirk.

"See, it's already on," Sora mentioned as he placed the device down on the table.

"What did you do?" Shig asked as he stepped forward cautiously.

Sora smiled.

Spreading his arms, Sora looked at Shig with a smirk on his face.

"Isn't this what I told you I was going to do?"

Shig stopped in his tracks as he recalled what had happened earlier.

He was sitting at his desk like usual, completing paperwork when his subordinate came to his side. Respectfully, the guard stood next to Shig and muttered something in his ear.

"Special inmate Sora requested to allow him to build a device to aid with Tartarus' security."

Once he heard those words, Shig simply had one thought.

'Ridiculous!'

Tartarus had been standing for many years and has been dubbed as impenetrable and inescapable. How could he create something to improve that even further?

Now, Shig was witnessing it firsthand. Sora's device had clearly taken everyone's quirks away, except for those with a physical mutation. Their quirks are part of their body, so it did nothing to them, except for those whose quirks had changed their bodies in order to accommodate their quirks.

For example, a vision enhancement quirk could end up mutating and turn one's eyes into a telescope or weirdly shaped eyes. With this device Sora built, it would only block the quirk, but not the mutation itself.

Which is why Shig did feel anything despite the device activating. At most, he would only feel slightly weaker than usual.

"This…"

The experts went slack jawed at Sora's explanation of his device. They were stunned and were excited to figure out got the machine works. Yet they were disappointed when they saw Sora shake his head, rejecting them. However, a couple of them thought about dismantling the device and try to comprehend it that way.

It's a shame that even if they know how to do it, they working understand it. The knowledge and science behind it was way ahead of them — and it would take decades for them to finally comprehend it.

Even Nezu, the U.A. Principal and holder of a intelligence Quirk, would find it difficult to understand.

"Alright… turn it off," Shig ordered as he looked at the panicked guards.

Flicking the switch on the machine, Sora looked at Shig.

"What do you think? Needed, or not?"

Shig clicked his tongue.

At U.A., Nejire was walking out of the training grounds with Tamaki. They had trained hard all day long, hoping to become the best of heroes. Their determination had been spurned on by Sora after his selfless sacrifice for his one friend.

They had wallowed in sadness for too long and it wasn't until a week into the new school year that they finally stepped out. They had a bit of seriousness about them, but they were still the same cheerful people.

"Is Mirio not coming?" Nejire asked, looking over at Tamaki.

Tamaki nodded but then quickly shook his head. His hands were clenched and it was obvious he was still afraid of him, even by a tiny smidge.

"He's going to train all day again…"

"Again… what's gotten into him? Ever since 'that' day, Mirio has been acting weird," Nejire mentioned as her eyebrows pressed against each other the more curious she grew.

Tamaki nodded, agreeing with her.

"Should we ask his mentor, Sir Nighteye?"

Raising a question, Tamaki looked at Nejire for an answer.

To which Nejire shook her head at. Sir Nighteye has been mentoring Mirio since the previous school year. Something like this probably wouldn't slip his eyes.

"I'm sure he's just very determined to become a strong hero," Nejire said after a moment of silence.

Tamaki nodded, thinking the same thing.

They decided to return to their other classes and see what they will learn today. They passed by a couple of classrooms already beginning and both Tamaki and Nejire noticed a particular girl. She has blonde hair styled into two messy buns on either side of her head and yellow eyes. She had a small smile on her face as she talked with one other girl.

At that point, Tamaki and Nejire recognized the girl in an instant and watched as she entered her class. Subconsciously, they turned their gazes to which class they were at.

1-B

Tamaki and Nejire looked at each other, both knowing who the girl is.

Himiko Toga, and she's in the Hero Course.
