Cut Off Your Nose to Spite Your Face.

("Some plants might appear different, but it seems that certain effects remain consistent, even across worlds")

As I busied myself, Mia wandered around, examining some of the flowers that grew in the field.

"Wow, this flower is so pretty!" Mia exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with delight as she gazed at the vibrant blooms.

"Stop, don't touch it," I cautioned.

"Huh, why not?" Mia asked, her curiosity piqued.

"It's poisonous," I cautioned.

"P-poison?" Mia stammered in surprise.

"Firstly, notice the absence of any life forms surrounding it," I began, pointing to the area around the flower. "Secondly, don't trust vibrant colored flowers or berries. Be cautious of leaves that are green and shiny and may have varying red parts, small clusters of green buds, or flowers with hairy, spiny, or waxy surfaces."

("Looks like an Oleander, but instead of pink, it's bright blue... that God just changed the color")

"For this one, its flowers, leaves, stems, and sap are poisonous"

Mia recoiled in shock and horrid upon hearing this.

"Got it, no touching."

As time passed, I managed to gather enough mint leaves, and together with Mia, we made our way back to the village. On our way back, we unexpectedly encountered an annoying third party.

"Mia! Why are you still with that human?" Surprise, surprise guess who it is?

"Han..." Mia glanced at me apologetically. "I'm really sorry, Mr. Gideon."

"No need to apologize, Mia," I replied calmly, though my eyes remained fixed on Han, a flicker of grin crossing my face.

("You're tainting your image even further...This guy barely has a brain the size of a walnut.")

"Let's go," he said while glaring at me, grabbing Mia's wrist and pulling her away.

"Han, let go! You're hurting me. Why are you acting like this?" Mia pleaded, her voice strained with pain.

"You should learn to treat a woman more delicately, Han." I stated firmly tilting my head, glaring back at him.

"You... stay away from my fiance, what do you know about us! you outsiders lowly human!"

"Your fiance doesn't seem to appreciate your behavior, Han," I retorted, keeping my tone calm but firm. "And I know enough to see that she doesn't appreciate it ."

He glanced at Mia, her teary eyes meeting his gaze, silently emanating hatred.

"Let her go, Han. You're only making things worse for yourself," I advised, my voice carrying a warning tone.

He eventually let her arm and yell at me, "I won't forget this, you will see!"

"You'll regret this," Han spat at me before storming off, his anger palpable in the air.

"Are you okay, Mia?" I asked, concern evident in my voice.

"I'm okay... don't worry about me," she replied, her voice trembling slightly with a glance of tears in her eyes.

"Hey, hey it's okay, why are you crying it's not your fault," I reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her. "Your eyes would swell if you cry too much you know..." I remarked lightly, trying to ease the tension with a touch of humor as i wipe tears from her eyes. A blush tinted her cheeks, revealing her embarrassment.

("Han oh Han you're making this easier and easier."

"Mia, can I see your wrist?"

She nodded, revealing her wrist. There were scratches and abrasions from Han's aggressive pulling.

I poured water over her wrist and crushed some peppermint leaves that I had picked earlier. Gently, I applied the mixture to the scratches before wrapping her wrist with a piece of cloth.

"There you go. The mint might feel a bit cold, but it should help ease the pain."

"T-thank you."

("I wonder when you'll learn, Han. You're only digging your own grave,") I thought to myself, a smirk playing at the corners of my lips.
