Chapter seventeen: Martha's promise

Charles and Micheal walked and chatted together for a while . Micheal was beginning to like him. Just then Micheal saw Martha's car up ahead , with Martha and another guy staring at them. " Excuse me, l have somewhere to go, now. I will see you around" he excused himself. " Hey wait, will l see you again" Charles said as he held his hand. " Yeah , l will come here tomorrow" he said as he left in a hurry. In the process, he accidently dropped a small dairy . All his dreams are written the dairy. Charles picked up the book and called his name but he had already took a turn. Micheal walked as fast as he could because he doesn't want to face anyone from Abacus enterprises not even Martha. But then a tall man blocked his front, Micheal didn't need anyone to tell him that he is one of Chen's lackeys. " Boss sent us here to talk to you" the lackey said sternly. Micheal sighed and followed him to the car. "What is it?" He asked Martha as he approached her. " Nothing much, my boss sent us to repeat his threats to you in more scarier way". She said honestly. Micheal just smirked and nodded his head. The two men that came along with her looked very displeased at her, they thought they would scare and frustrate the hell out of him today. But it seems Martha is not planning on making that happen. " But l believe you get the message without me doing that" she said and Micheal nodded his head. " The promise is still valid" she said as she patted his shoulder. Micheal just nodded his again. "Let's go" she said to the other two. "That's it, that's all we are gonna do here?", they shouted. " Are you deaf?, Let's go" she shouted back.They glared at her for a long while. Disappointed, they entered the car. She wave at Micheal before driving away. Micheal stood there for a while before heading back home.

Charles got curious about what was in Micheal's diary, so he read it on his way home. He was surprised by the similarity between Micheal's dream and his novel. He closed the book and quickly headed back home to read it further. On the other hand, in Abacus enterprises , the two lackeys got out of the car grumbling. "What the heck is wrong with you guys ?" Martha shouted at them, they glared at her before entering the company. The first thing they did was to went straight into their boss office. " Evening sir " they saluted him. "How was it?" He asked them. They both looked at Martha , "not well" they said. Martha looked at angrily, " how was it not well". "Boss you sent us there to threaten him , but Martha did the complete opposite" ,they said, this two lackeys have been looking for ways to deprave her for a long time now. They didn't like the fact that she is their superior. " Martha , explain yourself?" Said Chen suspiciously. "I did warned him as you asked , maybe not in the tone you want it to be" she said simply. "And why not?" He said calmly. " Because he already got the message as soon as we got there" Chen just nodded his head. " Nevermind, he will do it, you were right, l don't need to do anything to threaten him" he said calmly. "Can l get back to my office now?" Martha asked, "sure you can" he said simply. " Boss , are you sure we shouldn't just kill her now" said the lackeys after Martha left the room. "No not now, l will give her another chance ,if she is still soft then she will die" he said coldly. Oh l forgot to mention, Martha had no idea that Micheal's calls and texts are being monitored by him. So, her boss knows about the promise she made to Micheal. And that wasn't the first time she had gone soft on their victims. This time if she goes soft again he is not going to spare her. And Martha on the other hand, is thinking of a way to help Micheal excape from his grasp.

Micheal is dreaming again. But this time, it is a past event about him and his daughter. He was chasing her around the living room while singing the poem he composed for her : my little Angela , my life, my world

My little Angela, my heaven, my joy

My little Angela , no one can tell how much l love you.

And with that he woke up.
