Everly walked into the house and made her way upstairs. She entered the room and there, Valerio sat, typing on his laptop. He'd noticed her and he'd turned his head with a smile. "How did it go?"

She sighed and walked over to sit down on the bed with folded arms. "He's a troublemaker."

"Your father?" Valerio dropped his laptop aside and walked over to her. He squatted down and lifted his gaze to meet her eyes. "Why do you say so?"

"Well, I wouldn't say that, but he's persistent. I have no intention of forgiving them, but he wouldn't hear that. He keeps pressing on and on and wouldn't just let it go." She sighed and buried her face in her palms.

Valerio tucked her hair behind her ear and grabbed one of her hands. "And why is that?" he asked. "Don't you want to fix things with your parents? I know they weren't there when they should have been, but…you know they could still fix things? They could still get to know you and be a proper parent to you, no?"
