Valerio stared at her and cynically lowered his head.
A deep breath fled his nose, and he turned around, walking back into the mansion without uttering a word.
Everly immediately stood up from the swing and rushed after him.
She hurried out of the mansion, and before Valerio, who had left the compound, could open the door of the car, she grabbed a hold of his hand, stopping him.
"Valerio, please wait. It's a misunderstanding, okay. It's not what you think." She pleaded, but Valerio simply turned his head to look at her with a half-smile on his face.
"You have your work to finish, Everly." You should go back inside.
He said to her and removed her hand that was holding onto his arms.
He pulled open the door of the car and entered.
"Valerio! Please let me explain—"
