"Golden Chains."
Golden lights appeared as it slowly manifested into golden chains and started wrapping themselves around the rock golem and pulled the summon down to the ground.
"Roar."
The golem tried to break free but to no avail, the chains were very durable that even a master rank would have a difficult time trying to escape.
The ninja, seeing that its ally got captured, turned his body and tried to help.
However, he felt a cold wind on the back of his neck, and the ninja raised his katana to defend himself.
Their collision caused the ninja to be pushed back immediately and crash-landed on the ground.
A hole that perfectly outlined the ninja's body was formed on the soil.
Dirt scattered all over as the ninja jumped out of the hole and got back up almost immediately.
The ninja looked up and glared at his attacker.
The town lord and Salvador gently landed on the ground and roused up their magic power with the former bathed in golden light while the latter was covered in a silvery aura.
The town lord and Salvador were still master-ranked champions and although they could not fly, they could still float a few meters above the ground.
Nevertheless, they were both a bit unfamiliar with fighting in the air so they landed on the ground, to continue their battle.
Light-attributed mana condensed on the sword of the guild master as the latter made a downward slash, instantly creating an arc of light aiming towards the necromancer at breakneck speed.
"So you are thinking of using light-attributed attacks to counter my dark-attributed attacks?"
It was common knowledge that certain elemental attributes have particular weaknesses and strengths.
For example, wind magic is weak against earth magic and fire magic is weak against water magic.
Compatibility plays a vital role in combat, it was not just about ranks and stats.
Like a game of rock, paper, and scissors, people have certain opponents that they are strong and weak against despite being on the same level of strength.
Before the battle even began, it was already decided that the guild master, who knows light magic will be the one to confront the necromancer.
Because dark magic and light magic are vulnerable to each other.
This simple strategy brings plenty of risk for the guild master, but the latter did not hesitate to risk his life and volunteered to fight the boss of the enemy head-on.
'Besides, it's not like I need to win, I just need to stall for time until help from the other towns and cities arrives.'
The guild master thought, his goal was not to win but to prevent the enemy from approaching the barrier.
The guild master took a subtle glance at his magic weapon that he held in his right hand, the sword was called Radiante, according to the text engraved on the sword's hilt.
The spirit weapon in his hands was a sword that had been with him ever since he became the guild master.
Guild Masters of any guild branch all over the world were given a spirit weapon by the guild's main headquarters.
Such extravagance is one of the main reasons why most would covet the position of a guild master.
Even the Kiply Barony of the Doni Kingdom only possessed a single spirit weapon, and it was now in the hands of Meona.
Truthfully, he only ever used this spirit weapon a handful of times before as he mostly used the magic weapon that he used back in his days as an adventurer.
He look to his left and saw that he wielded another sword, an orange gem on the hilt of the sword signified that it was a master-ranked magic weapon.
A magic weapon on the left and a spirit weapon on the right.
The guild master was confident in being able to hold his own against the enemy in front of him, even though the latter was a former vampire lord and a super first-class master rank.
"Dark Slash."
In response to the approaching arc of light heading towards him, Riaz condensed a large amount of dark magic energy into his right palm and made a slashing motion.
An arc of darkness met an arc of light, resulting in a violent collision as the attacks nullified each other.
The guild master hardened his gaze as the magic weapon in his left hand lit up and was covered in intense winds.
"Rising Tornado."
Hendrick raised his sword and chanted.
A massive tornado appeared and enveloped the necromancer, causing him to be swept away.
In the face of the intense winds, the necromancer crossed his skinny arms and pulled out his magic weapon, an orb with an eye on it.
"Burst."
The ragged cloak full of holes fluttered as an intense amount of magic power burst out of the necromancer's body.
The giant tornado started destabilizing and ultimately disappeared.
"Spirit Armament."
The guild master's voice echoed in the surroundings.
Mana with high density gathered and accumulated above him and created a giant sword, seemingly made out of yellow light.
The sword was so massive that it even pierced the skies and no matter which part of the town you were in, you would still be able to see it.
Everyone subconsciously turned their heads to look in its direction and marveled at the sheer size of the sword.
"Honey..."
Vorne muttered when he saw a speck of light in the distance, he turned his head to look at the woman beside him who was similarly wearing a serious look on her face.
"I know...spirit armament, too bad Revlo couldn't use it yet."
In a room under the guild's headquarters, Revlo raised his head to look in a certain direction before shifting his concentration back to the totem in front of him.
Riaz shifted his gaze to look at the guild master across him.
A giant sword of light manifested behind the guild master while raising one of his swords.
The scene made it look like the guild master was a sword deity who was about to vanquish evil.
"Spirit armament, the special abilities of spirit weapons."
Riaz muttered as his playful gaze turned serious, as a vampire lord, he was very familiar with the power that spirit weapons can bring.
Spirit weapons generally have two modes.
<<Spirit Armament>> and <<Full Release>>
Spirit armament unlocks a portion of the spirit weapon's power, while full release unleashes the full might of the spirit weapon.
Activating these two modes consumes a large amount of spirit power, especially for <<Full Release>>, which forcefully dries up the wielder's spirit power to the very last drop.
But in exchange, the power that these spirit weapons could bring was very devastating that even magic weapons could not even compare.
"You are lucky that I am too weak right now to use my spirit weapons."
Riaz said through gritted teeth, the level of the spirit weapons in his possession was too high for the current version of him to wield.
"Looks like I need to get a little serious."
The orb in the necromancer's hands lit up, and an overwhelming amount of magic power was leaking out of his body.
"Shadow Ball Barrage"
*Fwoosh
*Fwoosh
*Fwoosh
Hundreds of balls of dark energy started appearing around him, their sizes alone could not be compared to the dark balls that Riaz summoned in the past.
However, just the sheer quantity was already overwhelming that it would almost make anyone scared shitless, especially sensing the destructive force that one could feel from each one of the dark spheres.
"Assimilate."
Riaz brought his hands closer as the spheres of dark energy started converging to a single point and merged.
A sole shadow ball started growing bigger and bigger as more shadow balls started merging with it.
The shadow ball kept expanding until it reached a size comparable to a very large boulder.
"Go!"
The guild master shouted as he swung his sword downwards, the massive sword of light behind him moved as well.
"Die!"
Riaz shouted as well and launched the giant sphere of dark energy forward.
The giant sword and giant sphere collided and sent shockwaves throughout the surroundings that annihilated a large number of monsters below.
"Ahhhhhh!"
The guild master yelled at the top of his lungs, his eyes were hazy and his breathing was ragged.
The guild master started feeling dizzy, a large portion of his spirit power was used up to execute that attack, but he willed himself to stay clearheaded and continued to push forward with all he got.
"Impossible!"
Riaz yelled in disbelief seeing that the giant sword of light was not only pushing back his magic attack but was also suppressing it.
"Haaaa!"
Riaz tried to push forward and put more force into his attack, but unfortunately, the sword of light had already started to slice through the large shadow ball and was able to split it in half.
"As expected of a spirit weapon."
Riaz muttered while letting out a heavy breath, he gazed upward only to see a massive sword of light looming over his head, threatening to cut him into two pieces.
He rummaged through his storage bag and pulled out a scroll and injected his mana into it.
An opaque green barrier instantly covered his body.
*Rip
However, the barrier was sliced like it was butter and was unable to protect anything.
"Shit!"
Riaz cursed and had no choice but to rely on his physical strength and tried to punch the massive sword of light away.
Riaz's fist and the giant sword of light clashed.
The resulting collision caused the sword of light to visibly crack and shatter and Riaz got launched backward like a cannonball and crashed into the ground like a meteor.
"No way! He shattered it?"
The guild master gasped in shock.
He knew very well the power behind the spirit armament mode of his spirit weapon, that massive sword of light was already enough to make even an International Master sweat if they were on the receiving end.
"This guy has monstrous physical abilities."
That was why he was keeping his distance away from the enemy, if the latter was strong enough to create cracks in their town's protective barrier just by punching, then shattering his spirit weapon and his magic weapon would not be that difficult.
The guild master felt light-headed and was sweating bullets.
He landed on the ground and gazed at the crater where the necromancer's body landed.
"This is still not over."
He knew very well that the fight was far from over.
Indeed, as an oppressive aura descended on the surroundings as a cold voice filled with malice rang inside his ears.
"Don't get too cocky bastard."
Thousands of pillars of dark energy came out of the ground as undead monsters simultaneously appeared and surrounded the guild master.
