Still Sane

There were a lot of things Ahin didn't understand. For example, he didn't understand how a forest spirit could exist. The spirit, too though, didn't understand how the boy didn't say anything and remained seated on the floor, staring at her with wide eyes.

"W-what are you?"

He could tell by the look on her face that he had asked the wrong question - but Choi Ahin was too curious to let it go. She looked at him with a mixture of amusement and confusion.

She smiled and her eyes glowed with a deep, inner light. "Like I said, I am the spirit of this forest. You better leave this place or else face the consequences."

Ahin was taken aback and couldn't believe his eyes. He swore he saw the spirit's hair light up in a bright yellowish-green hue for a split second, and then just as quickly, her hair was back to its previous color. At that moment, Ahin was overcome with fear, as if he had seen his life flash before his eyes.

Ahin was so scared that he could hardly move. His expression of terror was evident, and the spirit seemed to understand. She spoke again, her voice soothing and calming. "Please, just go home."

Home. Home. Home. Home. Home. Ho-

Ahin shook his head, his voice barely a whisper. "I can't do that. I-I can't go back there. There's no home left for me."

He wished there was a way out of this.

But to say the least, Choi Ahin wished for a lot of things, none of them to ever come true.
