Waiting And Watching

After spending the night With Ellen I went back to the pack house while she went to work. The four warrior who stayed and watched her house came back with me. They rested while the next rotation watched the bakery.

After Edith closed the bakery I had them come to the pack house. We all had dinner and I told them everything that had happened yesterday.

"Okay so late last night Arya and her pack left. We believe she went back to her old territory, but we are not sure. We do know they threatened you Edith so I want you to be careful for the next few days. I will keep body guards outside the bakery as long as you want them there. I will be staying with Ellen. If you need anything let me know okay."

"What do you mean, she threatened me? What did she say?"

"Do you really want to know?"

"Yes, I need to know what she said."

"She said after she took care of the Alpha who took over her territory she was coming back to take care of you."

"Okay, it's because I didn't give her what she wants. You can leave the guards I would feel better having them there. Why are you guarding Ellen? What did she say about her?"

"I'm not sure how to take it but she said that since Ellen chose you she needs to be taken care of."

"Okay well we will wait and see. I think watching over Ellen is a good idea. When Arya was younger she would do anything in her power to get even with us if we "wronged" her in any way. I know Ellen didn't do anything to her but Arya doesn't care because she was in the room when I yelled at her. You and you mom need to be careful as well."

"Don't worry mom is taken care of, dad won't let anyone near her. I will be with Ellen. And if you feel more comfortable you can have a couple of the guys in your house with you."

"Okay well we need to head home now. we have some big orders to fill for tomorrow and Ellen needs to get the cakes at least started for the party."

"Okay let's head out then. Steven will drive your car back I will take Ellen home. Mom make sure your doors are locked. Good night mom, see you tomorrow."

After we leave the house we head to the cars. I have to admit I am nervous, for some reason I feel like I'm being watched. I get in the car as fast as I can, we head down the hill and back to my house. Once we are inside and he has checked every room door and window I start feeling better.

"Okay sweetheart it's late do you want to just go to bed?"

"Will you hold me like you did last night?"

"If that's what you want I will be happy to."

I nod my head yes and he points to the bedroom. I get ready for bed as he checks the doors and windows again. I watch as he goes into the bathroom to change. When he comes out I scoot over and cuddle into him. Within minutes I am asleep.

The next morning I get up at five a.m. After I shower and change he takes me to the bakery. As we get to the door Steven opens it for us. Ellen goes to the kitchen while I get an update.

"We heard some noises last night but saw nothing. We didn't smell any rogues, but I was thinking if they managed to get their pack lands back they won't be rogue anymore right."

"Yea your right she is their Luna and as long as they stay pledged to her they are a pack. We just have to keep watch. Make sure the border patrols are extra vigilant. I am heading back to the pack house your replacement will be here shortly. Aunt Edith trusts you so you will remain as the night guard as long as it takes to sort this out okay."

"It would be my honor. I like Edith she is easy to talk to and she is an amazing cook."

"You know she lost her mate seven years ago, I know your mate has been gone for five years. Is it possible you are falling for my aunt?"

"I'm not sure Alpha I am just here as her guard for now. We will see what happens later."

"Good man, I'm glad your head is in the right place. Get home and get some rest as soon as you can. I will see you later."

I go to the kitchen to check on the girls one more time. Once I see they are okay I give them both a kiss and head out.
