Fortune or Misfortune??? - III

When Donald turned his A.I. it did not respond as it usually does. He almost had a heart attack at that moment. The only scenario in which his A.I stops working when the Hive Mind is online. As soon as this thought crossed his mind he was startled at for a millisecond before he ran toward his Hive Lab.

John heard someone running toward the lab. Before the door for the lab opened he had to find a place to hide. But he was not in a lab where he could hide behind the desk, it was one of the most high tech labs on Varren. There was no place to hide. His eyes swept around the lab only to find only 1 desk at the corner and that was the Hologram computer's CPU. The footsteps were coming close to the second.

Right before the lab door opened he got into the teleportation chamber. This was the only place which was dark now since Donald turned on the lights. But he never would have thought his action of entering the teleportation chamber was his most fortunate or unfortunate action….

As Donald was looking inside the lab he found no one. He called,"Kara, Check for the intruders."

Kara was the name of his back up A.I. As soon as Donald commanded a mechanical female voice sounded in the lab, " Scanning for the intruders."

In the meantime Donald got near his work table, also his Hologram computer desk, but the Hive Chip was nowhere to be found. He was furious and he kicked the desk in anger. The desk flew across the lab and hit the wall on the opposite side. Don't forget there is serum available for people to enhance their strength and get longevity.

At the same time Kara's voice again sounded inside the room,"No intruder found. A virus found in the locking mechanism of the lab door. Probability of break in 90%."

As Donald was working to find the intruder, John was inside the teleportation chamber. His mind was working on finding a solution to get out of this hellhole. But before he could do anything light in the chamber lit up.

"As I thought, here you are, you little Rat!!" Shouted Donald as he saw John inside the chamber though a small Glasstinite part of the chamber. He was raging, cursing but John could only see him moving from one place to another, since he could not hear his voice.

'I am Dead' John thought.

Donald saw this and ordered Kara turn on the speaker inside the chamber. "You son of a Bitch!! I am gonna cut you into pieces for breaking into my facility and stealing my Hive Chip."

"Hey Man! This was not my idea it was your son's, I am fine with giving the A.I. chip to you if you let me go ....." before he could even try to convince Donald to let him go, there was a hard sword like weapon which was straight through the back of Donald's head and came out of his forehead. He saw Donald fall on his knees with his against the Glasstinite window and it slided to the left leaving a long trail of blood on the window.

Then the assassin looked at John and moved toward the holographic screen. He clicked a few symbols and on holographic screen and the quantum generator started. Then inside the chamber a portal opened in front of John before he could even do something to save himself his body started to break down into particles.

"No! No! NO NOOOOOO!!" Just in seconds his body broke down into particles and sucked inside the portal inside the quantum space.

The assassin was not even looking while John took his last breath. He moved towards the broken desk and took a black round sphere from one of its parts. Before he could even move to get out of the lab.

"KABOOM !!!!"

The whole facility exploded and every part of the lab was obliterated. Nothing could be seen where the facility was only smoke which rose to the top and the debris were sent flying in a large area of the district where his lab was situated. Some parts even got shot out in outer space.

Donald had made a fail safe for this kind of situation. If ever his brain function stopped, then the facility will explode with all the work that he has done. This was not the first attempt on his life, there had been several but this was the last and final. With his last breath he took all his work with him so that whoever was trying to target him doesn't get anything.

John was inside the Quantum Space and his body was being reconstructed inside the quantum space. But as soon the particles were appearing through the portal they were getting sucked inside a wormhole.

John could not even think clearly and in his mind his last 30 years were flashing.

The night when he first stole and later local police caught him , he remembered how bad he was to his family. All his past deeds came haunting him. He was regretting his past deeds while his body was sucked into a wormhole.

A boy lying on a large bed opened his eyes and a plane roof came into his view. He was staring at the roof for a long time before he woke up to sit on the bed with a confused look on his face.
