Chapter 7: The Quart Mining & Affiliated Occupations Company

Chapter 7: The Quart Mining & Affiliated Occupations Company

King! Klang! King! Klang!!

The sounds of pick axes being hit onto something hard reverberated throughout the mines underground, mining for precious resources. The mechs there are putting a lot of work to meet the demands of their managers, as a rough loud voice reverberated in.

"Faster! Come on, you slow pokes! You should know that if we don't meet our quotas, that would be on all of your salaries. Those Quart Crystals won't be mined on itself."

"Yes, Boss!!!" The workers loudly said and presumed their work with a bit faster pace.

The owner of that rough, stern voice is Fadoji, a Hydafa sub manager of the company. He is the one managing the workers in the mines who are all in the Kaidel class. He is of a blocky, green build, his armor are in the square, rigid design. His head also share the blockiness of his body, but his face is quite defined, similar to a human. His looks are can be described as someone who do heavy work, but the irony is that he manages on the documents and fileworks of the company.

After he visited the mines, Fadoji proceeded to go back to his office in company building above. What he find there is his projector blinking, signifying new documents and files have been transferred: a new load of fileworks.

"Sigh. This part of the job is so trifling. This wears off my arms and shoulders!" He sighed in exhaustion of the work. He really doesn't like desk work.

He has no choice on the matter though. He started to browse through the files sent to him and work on them. He then hear something on the door.

Knock. Knock.

"You can enter."

The door slides open as his secretary goes through his office, a feminine Magistoid with a quite thin build and feminine curves in her body with her armor wasn't much in rigid design and not quite large as Male mechs.

"Sir, sorry for the interruption but we have a situation in the front desk." The secretary bit awkwardly said.

"What? Is there a problem?" Kadoji asked.

The secretary nervously replied.

"We have a special visitor."

"Wait? Special Visitor? You mean-"

The secretary nods.

By that response, Kadoji burst out from his office to go to the front desk, hoping

the worse is not happening. Kadoji came through the front desk and met an intimidating figure: Altor at the counter, standing in wait.

((Here's come the fun! Enter the GoGoGo Jojo SFX!!))

"Guh-"! Kadoji almost gulped if he had a human-like throat.

"W-Welcome to our humble company, Noble Sir. On what way can we help you with something?" Kadoji nervously asked to Altor, hoping he was in a good mood.

His job here is on the line.

"Hello there. I was looking through some information on the Madonet and I found out about your company, so I was wondering-"

Kadoji was starting to have a nervous breakdown because he was fearing that he might have a "bad news" for him.

"-if I can apply for a job here?" Altor asked.

"Wh-" Kadoji was dumbfounded in silence.

"You're looking for a job!?" Kadoji repeated for clarification.

"Yes. I saw the job offer and was hoping to get a job here." Makino explained.

Kadoji, in this matter, was utterly dumbfounded by this. It was a totally bewildering event is happening right now. What is really going on!? Normally he was just say to the applicant that he need to fill up some form and pass some interview to get a job, but he is an Armanben. He sure he couldn't make him do such menial tasks. A ticked off Armanben could totally make the company's name be smeared in bad image and he will lose his job. And it would not be totally strange for them to do something quite outrageous (in an Hydafa's point of view), as they can and will do want they want. Kadoji has to make a decision.

"Yes Sir! We can give you a job here. We would be totally honoured to. We will get you a new office immediately-"

"Yeah, about that. Is there any chance that there's a vacant spot at the mining job?"

"What?" Kadoji was dumbfounded again.

---------------------

The shift is now over and it's break for the miners and he is almost totally done with it. He wanted to just scream but he needed the job. He doesn't wanted to get fired, no thank you please. He was going to the lounge room near the mines when he saw his boss and his secretary.

"What- What are the boss doing here? He just came here to gawk at us just some moments ago." He quietly wondered.

He then see a huge figure walking behind them. Here, he was intimidated.

"Wait, is that an Armanben!? Is that the reason the boss is here?"

He was starting to panic, but he has to compose himself to not offend the Armanben. He can't run back at the mines as they are nearing now. He tried to tidy up himself, shaking the dust of him to make himself looked presentable, hoping that he dusted it all off. He started to stand up straight and bowed as they come over near him.

"Welcome Noble Sir to our humble workplace. We're hoping that we are in your good tidings."

"Wait! Y-You."

He turned his head up and sees the Noble's face and he instantly recognised it.

"You-"

"Arlandy, You idiot! Is that how you pay your respects!?" Kadoji flared up due to Arlandy's reaction.

"I'm so sorry, Noble Sir if my worker here has in anyway offended you."

"It's alright. He didn't offended me. I just recognize him and I just met him just last night." Makino explained.

Arlandy shuddered on that response. This is the same Noble that saved him last night from the thugs from the local gang in the place. He did owe them quite a lot and then he unluckily got into their territory in the middle of the night due to other job.

"Heck, he might not have intentionally saved him and that the thugs might have annoyed him in his way. But they don't know that I have a debt to those mongrels. It might lose my job if they know that I tangle with them sometimes for extra cash." Arlandy feared for the worse.

".... I just encountered him and gave me a... warm greeting. That's all." Makino said.

"!?" Arlandy was in shock. He- covered for him.

'No, it must be because he didn't cared enough to say it he did it. Maybe he didn't wanted them to know that he got tangled with me. But that was a save.' Arlandy was relieved, but quite wary. This is sure to be a bad omen for them or the company at whole.

"Arlandy, you're going to the lounge room, right? Good timing. I have an announcement for all the workers. Go on now."

"Yes, boss." Arlandy replied, cutting him off in his thoughts and started walking ahead of them.

------------------

They all go to the lounge room with all of the workers on break in attendance. Arlandy awkwardly take a sit, his workmates wondering what is happening.

"Hey Arlandy. What is going on here?" His workmate asked.

"A tempest is coming~" He shuddered.

"Huh?"

((Yup. It was. You're gonna get floored. Brace yourselves!!))

Kadoji entered the room with Altor in his side and immediately the workers shuddered by a magnitude. It was a rare occurrence for an Armanben to come here in their company (their true manager don't even come occasionally) and the implications of their visit is sending fear in their minds. Moreover, his appearance is really intimidating to look at. He has a visor and face plate that covers most of his face so they can't even read his expression at the moment and his jet black body and armor along with glowing streaks of magic. It was really a sight to behold and fear the most. But everyone can't let those thoughts surface on them. They had to restrain themselves on it.

They stand up straight and started to now at Altor.

"We humbly greet you, Noble Sir! We hope we are in your grace!!" Everyone at the room loudly said.

Makino was totally getting tired if it.

"Everyone. I gathered everyone for an announcement. Sir Altor here will gonna enter in our company for a job here. He specifically insisted to work in the mines, so everyone make him feel comfortable and help him on anything that he need and also to get him to the ropes on the job." Kadoji announced.

Everyone was stunned and in shock.

An Armanben wanting to work in the mines!? That sounded preposterous and ridiculous. Why?

'What in the moons of Galuxo!? Why on Regulus that he wanted to work in the mines? Is this some Armanben's sick joke? Or is it.... to see us toil ourselves in his pleasure? There are many ways to do that like watching us through the magic feed in an office set up in the building. Sure he can't just watch us there while sitting on a chair to observe us. One thing about the mines is the dust and dirt being everywhere while mining, Armanbens sure wouldn't want that in their entire life. What is he planning?' Those thoughts swirled inside Arlandy's head as he can't fathom what is really going on right now.

But there is sure no way they can protest loudly or else it's their jobs on the line. The Armanbens do whatever they wanted by the blessings given to them through the class system law and they sure can't refused his requests. So everyone nodded and replied in approvement. The day in the mines would never be the same again.

((You get that right. It's time for awkwardness. Hehehe~))
