Different Powers

In a forest, there's an open area with no trees around. A van parked nearby a tree, three different groups spread out not far from each other.

A piece of wood slowly had ice covered over, as a sneeze soon followed.

"So you can make ice if you freeze.. that's interesting." River said as he looked at Reginald wearing only his dark blue shirt and his Pe shorts.

"Do you feel less cold?" Otta asked, taking notes.

"I can't tell! I'm fucking freezing!" Reginald's body kept shivering.

"Try channelling the cold you feel to your palm." River instructed, "It shouldn't be that different from manipulation outside." He mumbled.

"I'm going to die!" On the other side, Kinsei is buried under the ice created by Reginald, "Frostbites! I'm going to lose my life!"

Otta walked over with her phone and recorded, "Do you feel like your reaching any peek?"

"Hell no!" Kinsei yelled, "I just feel like I'm going to die!"

"Miss Kate is here, you won't die." Dealla commented as she was using her forcefield to block Sezia punches, the forcefield kept breaking and she felt her energy draining rapidly. She could no longer keep up and used her arms to block instead.

"Why aint you training?" Kinsei asked Otta, as she was taking down notes.

"I am." She simply said, "Stop talking or you will generate heat."

Kinsei wanted to yell but stopped when he felt Frad's glare.

Silence spread out around the area, as Frad was watching to make sure no one died and Dav was trying to use his strings in different ways.

"Shoot it out! Not cover your hand with it!" River's voice broke the silence.

"I just did what you told me!" Reginald argued, as his body no longer shaking, "Hey I'm not cold anymore."

"Well at least you can technically survive any elements now." River muttered, as he tried to control the ice on Reginald's hand.

Reginald could feel that he was slowly losing control over the ice, as it moved away from his hand.

'Hm.' Reginald tried to remember that feeling, as he controlled the ice that was leaving him.

River also felt his control over the ice slipping, but he let it slip away.

Reginald took full control over the ice and formed it into a ball.

"Woah." He simply said, then he looked at River, "Do we have the same powers?"

"What are we? Twins?" River shook his head, "I can't do what you did. Besides, you can't control what wasn't produced by you."

"Hm.." Reginald threw the ice ball towards Kinsei, and almost hit his face.

"Oi!" Kinsei yelled.

Otta grabbed the ice ball and placed on top of Kinsei who was fuming with anger.

River walked over to the van and took out a water bottle, he threw it towards Reginald who barely caught it.

"Try to see if you can feel connection to the water." River instructed, as Reginald did as told.

After a while, Reginald shook his head.

"That's the difference between our powers." With the bottle still on Reginald's hand, he controlled the water in it to form into a ball, "If its this little amount, I can form a connection with it. But you can't form new connection with elements." He cut the connection, and the water fell back and took the shape of the bottle.

Reginald threw the bottle back at River who caught it with ease, and placed it back in the van.

"Can you control bigger elements?" Reginald asked, as River chuckled.

"I think it would be better to learn to control more rather than the size. Or at least be proficient in one." He explained, "I'm better at controlling liquid, that's why I could form a control it from that distance."

"Than why am I learning to freeze things and burn things?" Reginald asked, feeling like he had lots to learn from.

"What we're doing now is to see what you are better at controlling. Or at least which you are more interested in controlling." River pointed at the ice on the tree, "Can you control that?"

Reginald tried forming a connection like what he did, and felt a faint connection to the ice. He grasped it and the ice slowly moved away from the tree.

"Ice is like water," River snapped, and the ice become liquid which fell on the ground.

Reginald tried forming a connection to it again, but the connection became thinner than before.

"If you keep training, you can discover new things about your powers." River 'picked' up the water and made it hover above his hand, "No one can say they truly understand their powers even till their last breath, because humans can always find new ways to use their powers."

He took a step to the side, as Reginald's gaze that's been on the water shifted up to see Dav's string seemed to have split apart.

Reginald's eyes widened a little seeing that. He looked down at his hand. Feeling the cold seeping in from around, he took a deep breath as he closed his eyes.

= "Dad! Can you make a fire sword?" A little Reginald asked, as Ignatius laughed.

"I can't, but maybe one day you could?" =

River's gaze that's been on Dav shifted to Reginald, and saw ice slowly forming around his hand. A sword handle slowly formed, and followed by a blade.

Reginald opened his eyes, and a grin crept on his face.

"I can be a ice Knight now." He smirked at River, who chuckled.

"You don't have your full armour knight." River crossed his arms and added, "What about your shield and horse?"

"That still need more work.." Reginald mumbled, but he clutched the handle tightly, "I will show you a knight one day. Full armour charging through the enemies!" He lifted his sword up high, "Whatcha say?"

"I will be awaiting that day." River gave a thumbs up, "Elemental knight? An ice sword, earth shield, wind armour with two fire horns at the helmet."

Reginald's eyes twitched, "Eh I doubt I can achieve that."

"If you do that, I shall call you king of elements." He added, and Reginald pointed the sword at him.

"Bet! Get ready to call me King of elements!"
