Fellow Wolves

Nova was about to nod yes before she realized that meant she would be naked in front of them, so instead she shook her head. He growled a bit, causing Nova's head to lower a bit. A few minutes of silence passed before Nova heard a suppressed growl come from his chest as he sighed and said, "Logan, shift and give her some clothes."

The grey wolf nodded and moved back into the trees and Nova looked up curiously at the boy. She couldn't help but nervously ask her wolf, 'why did he growl? If he was upset at me he wouldn't have suppressed it, right?'

'I have no clue, but that growl was kinda hot,' came Dawn's response which made Nova quickly look away from the dark-haired boy.

'Dawn!!!' Nova reprimanded as popping sounds came from where the grey wolf went. Not long after, a boy with blonde hair and brown eyes emerged from the trees. "Here," was the only warning this guy, Logan, gave before tossing a bundle toward Nova. She quickly grabbed it, surprising herself that she actually managed to before turning to hide behind the trees.

After shifting back, she quickly got dressed in the large t-shit and basketball shorts before emerging from the trees. The second they emerged the two boys instantly exclaimed, "It's you!" The shock was written all over their faces. Even the wolf's mouth dropped open as he stared at Nova.

Nova rolled her eyes and said, "Really guys, way to make a girl feel good about herself. I am really not all that bad you know."

The dark-haired boy starred at her before quietly saying, "How can she be a werewolf? Her brother sure isn't."

He probably didn't mean for her to hear, but she decided to respond anyway, "Don't know, I wasn't born a werewolf. I disappeared for the summer before last and when I came back I shifted for the first time."

Both of the boys just stared at her for a bit before she looked at them. When her eyes landed back on the brown wolf, excitement flooded through her. She could stop the squeal before she bounced and exclaimed, "Oh my, this is great! I am just so... EEEiii! I thought I was alone, I mean it makes sense that I am not, but this is awesome." They were staring at her like she was crazy but she gave it no mind as her eyes widened and she whispered, "Wait, that means you guys can answer all the questions Dawn and I have."

Before they could even say anything though, the questions exploded out, "So you guys are wolves, does that mean you live in packs? How many packs are there in the world? Oh! Are all the new kids werewolves as well? Is that why you guys are always together? EEEiii! I am so excited!" Nova was literally bouncing up and down as stared wide-eyed at the guys. They just stared at her while she breathed heavily from her tirade.

Another question jumped into her mind and she opened her mouth to ask, but Logan put his hands up and said, "Wow, wow, wow. We know you're excited, but let us answer your questions first."

Nova's eyes widened as she realized she was embarrassing herself, again. Her face flushed red and she looked down to try to hide her embarrassment as she whispered, "Sorry."

A chuckle brought her eyes back up to meet those of the dark-haired boy. He had an amused smile on his face as he said, "Yes we do live in packs and there are tons of packs around the world. Some have only 20 or so members and others have 2 or 3 hundred members. Our pack is the Silvermoon pack. And yes, all the new kids that we hang out with at school are also werewolves and in our pack. So have never met another werewolf?"

"No, you are the first three I have met," Nova responded, before excitement once more filled her and she started to bounce again while squealing, "OOOOH! This is so exciting. There are so many werewolves!" She took a deep breath and pulled back her over-enthusiasm before continuing, "I have no clue how I managed to go a year and a half without meeting another. I even go on nightly runs so it isn't like I have been hiding."

The boys were once more staring at her amused, which made her inspect her feet. When she looked back up she saw the brown-haired guy with a frown and eyes furrowed, "You said you disappeared. Do you remember anything?"

They all looked curiously at her as she shook her head, "All I remember is a lot of white, cold but also heat. There was a bit of pain blurred in as well. One moment as was attacked in my backyard and the next I was in the middle of a random forest."

A growl rumbled from all of them as the brown-haired boy's eyes turned really dark and almost black. Nova stepped back as fear raced through her. The boy looked at her and pressed, "You were attacked? Do you know by who?"

Nova shook her head after swallowing, "If I saw him I might recognize him. It was dark and I only saw him for a second before they drugged me, but his dark eyes are probably ingrained in my brain." Another growl rumbled from the boy causing Nova to step back again. He closed his eyes and breathed slowly before opening them once more to reveal his electric blue eyes.

When his eyes met her sea-green eyes, a feeling of calm washed over her. "Sorry about growling, I just didn't like the idea of someone attacking you." The other two looked at him like he had grown an extra head while Nova just tipped her head to an angle and furrowed her eyes slightly.

'Why would that bother him? He doesn't even know me.' Nova wondered. Dawn stayed quiet as the question stumped her as well. The brown-haired boy confused her. Nova's eyes widened as she realized that she didn't know his name and she instantly blurted out, "Wait, what are your guys' names?"

The brown-haired boy's eyes widened at the question before pointing to the others in turn and saying, "Sorry. My name is Jay. That is Logan, as you have probably figured out. The wolf is Matt."

Nova nodded in greeting to all of them and smiled while saying, "I am sure you already know this from your reaction to me, but my name is Nova." They all nodded back and they might've said something, but something caught Nova's attention.

There was a whistling sound that seemed to quickly be approaching. It sounded like something was flying through the air and it gave her a bad feeling. Before she could even think, she shifted and tore the clothes she was wearing and lunged. Her mouth closed down and caught whatever had been flying. She snapped it and dropped it on the ground, it looked like a small arrow.

Another sound in the woods to her left caught her attention and she turned and chased. Someone was running ahead of her and that someone was probably the one who had shot at them. Her paws pounded against the ground as she sped after them.

She could hear the boys following behind her, but she was set on her prey. A thump sounded just ahead of her causing her to speed up. She broke through the trees and stopped as she found herself staring at a pair of retreating tail lights. A growl filled her chest as she stared at the vehicle. That bolt was aimed for Jay, they would pay.
