Monsters??

{yay it's another chapter, well I don't really know what to put here so bye "^"}

<Nico POV>

-early in the morning-

I woke up extra early today, so I can fight lots more monsters!!

Now I just need to figure out if I can fight or not.

And so I made a big block of dirt, to practice fighting on!

I slip into my 'samurai' armour and grab my 'katana' that is 1-2 cm taller than me, and start slashing with both hands on the grip-handle thing, it makes a few scratches, but takes too long too do, so I switch to one-handed, the scratches are less deep, but I can do a lot more of them, I'll keep doing this until the old man mole shows up in the dirt dragons mouth.

....

-one and a half hours of swinging later-

I got a skill for it!!

That took a while though…wait a minute the old man moles already there.

I WASTED SO MUCH TIME, I could have probably killed a monster by now…noooooooooo.

I hurriedly waddle to the old man mole, and tap him on the back, well as far up his back as I can, so not very high.

<old man Morris POV>

Huh what's that itch on my back, ohh it's just the kid, wait what's with the ridiculously long yet also tiny sword, don't tell me he's gonna use it to fight?

"Monsters?" He asks in the usual innocent yet adorable expression.

"Not yet." I respond, pretending I'm not affected by the cuteness.

"Why not?" He asks with the same expression as before.

"Cause I need to know you have a chance in a fight." I say full of righteous vigour.

"How do I show that?" He asks, even cuter than before.

[im not normally affected by cute things buuuut, this is too cute, like cuter than any other baby mole I've seen before!]

"Simple just make my hand bleed." I say while trying to mask my thoughts.

I hold my hand out for him to attack.

He grabs the hilt of his blade with both hands, takes a basic stance, and uses his full strength to slash down on my hand.

'Clankkkkkk'

A resounding clank sounds out, his blade cracks, and a drop of blood falls off of my hand….a drop of blood, I'll be damned I thought he wouldn't manage!!!

"Let's go!!" He shouts excitedly, jumping up and down.

"Ah fine" I sigh trying to seem disinterested.

<Nico POV>

Yeah time to kill some monsters.

I struggle my way onto gramps's back, gradually I make it too his head and sit there.

Gramps starts walking into a tunnel about 3-4 times as big as his hole-home.

While we're on the way I decide to ask good ol grumpy system some questions.

[hey system?]

[how do I get a pet?]

(A pet can be gained by forcing a monster without the intelligence to speak, into submission, can also be gained through willing submission, is there anything else host would like to know?)

The system sounded sorta happy just now, I guess that was a good question to ask?

Gramps started running at what I hope is top-speed a while ago, somehow I didn't fall of his head though, we keep going like that for a few minutes, when suddenly he stops, I almost fell off damn it!!

"Kid look there." He says in full seriousness.

I look where he says, this is what I saw,

A worm like creature, about 8 cm long, 5 cm thick, 5 cm wide, dark pink scales all over its body, it has a mouth laced with sharp teeth, no eyes, and is laced with black spikes down both its sides, on its rear is a sharp black spine, about half a cm long, the mouth takes up half of what I assume is its head.

In all honesty it looked terrifying, like some horrible monster from a horror movie, just uglier!

"Are its scales tougher than you?" I ask gramps unable to hide my nervousness.

"No not at all, in fact given enough good swings I reckon you could cut it in half, after all it's pretty much just a slightly dangerous worm". He says trying to assure me.

I build my courage and slide off of his head onto the ground.

Struggle to my feet and grab my blades hilt, in one hand, so I do not need to take so long to attack, I rush towards it, while it still hasn't noticed me yet.

I take a quick slash at its side, as I do so it finally notices me, it's too late however as a long, yet shallow gash is already made on its side just above the spikes, it's brown blood spills from the gash, I pay it no mind.

I rush in front of it, place both of my hands on my blades hilt and slash down at its face, the monsters head splits In two, as it's blood spills out even more.

(47 Exp gained from killing, spinel worm, skill 'elementary swordsmanship' has levelled up twice)

I sit down to revel in my victory, I have no chance to rest as another two monsters, of the same kind, show up, I battle them in the same way as I did the first.

(Host has gained 100 Exp for killing spinel worms, skill 'elementary swordsmanship' has levelled up twice)

I need a break!

( host has levelled up)

"Gramps I'm tired take me home" I say to gramps hopeing he'll listen.

" ohh alright , wait gramps, what the hell I ain't no gramps I've only just turned 138 years old last month, you brat!!!!"

In the end I got home lied on the floor and checked my status

Looking slightly better than before, this time I'll save the skill point though never know when I might need it.

And so an end to a semi-action packed day.
