Escape and Encounter

Rio keeps running and running, his mind's in chaos, and can't think clearly, he doesn't know where his exact location is, he doesn't care. He doesn't care even tree branches start to leave scratch after scratch on his skin, his tears already stop flowing. He can't cry anymore for his parent, to mourn their death.

'I can't even bury them properly, what kind of son Am I. So pathetic, I'm so pathetic...' He scream inside his head.

After running for so long, he lost the feeling of his leg, his fatigue accumulated and hit him.

Falling to his knee, he finally lay on his back, covering his face with his right hand.

He has to make sure to go back to his mansion or search for his relatives.

The sun already set, and night come. Only darkness around him, with a flashing light of battlefield in the distance.

(Rio POV)

'What should I do now? The closest one of my relatives is uncle Hara, maybe I should go there. I hope they're fine. I should rest first, and go to the Atreya Plantation in the morning. Let's find a rather safe place to rest tonight.'

After finding a good place on a pretty high tree, I climb with the rest of my stamina, my legs feel sore, but at least I can avoid the monster that roams in the night.

The sun radiated a bright light as the sign of a new day, a start for the people to begin their activity, if only this is their old world.

In the current situation, no matter what time is it the people are surrounded by fear, fear of death. The sound of gunshot and bomb still could be heard here and there, the army fight with all they have in life and death battle against the monsters.

Rio opens his eyes, looks a little bit shaken from his experience yesterday, it feels like a dream for him, but he knows that everything is real.

His stamina almost recovered, but he can feel a sting all over his skin, he looks at his hand and realizes that he got lots of scratches.

'Let's search for a river first, I haven't drink or eaten anything since yesterday.'

Going down from the tree, he looks at his surroundings. Yesterday, he can't think straight after that incident, but now he knows he's in the jungle near the town because he knows his hometown pretty well, he begins to walk in the direction of the river.

After walking for around 15 minutes, he arrived on the riverbed, this river was not too big, but the water are pretty clean. So he begins to drink the water and clean himself. After that, he continue to walk in the direction of the Atreya Plantation.

One and half hours later, after avoiding a road and 2 wolf monsters he arrived in front of Atreya Plantation gate. Climbing the gate and proceed to the building on the center of the plantation.

'This place is safe from the monsters, if only we can make it in time...' Rio's thought as he clench his fist.

In front of the big white building, parked a black SUV car.

'Isn't that Uncle Hara's car?' He thought.

*Knock... knock...*

"Hello, anybody inside?" Rio said as he knock on the door.

The door opened and a man in his late 30 looking at Rio up and down.

"Uncle Hara. Thank god you're okay."

"Oh Rio, why are you alone? Where is your parent?" He said nonchalantly.

"They're... gone." He said solemnly lowering his head.

Hara's face turn to a surprised one, but then a smirk come to his face.

"Come inside Rio, it's not good to talk here. My wife and kid arrived here yesterday, but you can rest first before you tell me what happened to you." Hara invite Rio inside

(Hara POV)

"They're... gone."

I'm a little bit surprised about this news, but wait, isn't that mean everything Atreya's family wealth is going to this kid?

Well, well, looks like this is my time to take everything.

*Smirk*

Shit, I can't hold myself. Finally, everything will be mine!

"Come inside Rio, it's not good to talk here. My wife and kid arrived here yesterday, but you can rest first before you tell me what happened to you."
