A Kiss From Darkness

Warning… Matured content. “Look at me,” he commanded, his eyes boring into her like black pits of venom. Lilith’s chest tightened as she stared at the floor and the room seemed to shrink around her. “Dinner with the devil is one thing. Staring at the embodiment of evil itself…quite another.” Dracula’s smirk widened, his fingers squeezing Lilith’s chin. “Oh, and do I frighten you, little one?” His eyes burned into her, piercing her soul like daggers “You see now the truth of my power. You thought you could challenge me, toying with my affections as though I were some lovesick puppy.” Lilith sighed, because despite the darkness that swirled around her, she found herself unafraid of Dracula. “Now, look at me, and speak what you have beneath your heart,” he commanded. Lilith’s chin lifted with a surge of defiance. "Dracula Beelzebub. You are nothing but a monstrous abomination." she hissed, her voice dripping with disdain. "A fiend of the lowest caliber, unworthy of even a moment of my time." Dracula raised an eyebrow as he smirked, impressed by her insults. "And yet, you cannot deny that I am the most powerful being in this room." Lilith sneered. "Yo… You deserves to be banished back to the bowels of Hell." Dracula smiled, his teeth white in the flickering candlelight. "Ah, but where’s the fun in that? I much prefer making life interesting for the mortals." Lilith's hands curled into fists at her sides, and she took a step forward. “Interesting?" she spat. "You call torment and misery ‘interesting’? You are a demon, feeding off the misery and pain of others." Dracula chuckled, spreading his arms wide in a gesture of mock surrender. "And what of it? What do you intend to do about it, little mortal?" ~~~~~ Meet Lilith Raziel, a young, beautiful orphan who was born blind. Past life.

"If you want to speak with me, you must first prove your worth," he demanded, his voice dripping with contemptuous amusement as he studied Lilith, his gaze a voracious predator appraising its prey. "Only then will I deign to converse with you."

Lilith rolled her eyes at his absurd assertion. "Stop behaving like a spoiled brat who loves looking down on others." She spat, her gaze agitated, and then she gripped the young man's hand. "Follow me." She added.

After her statement, Lilith turned around and shove his hands before walking, unsure whether the young man would follow her.

The young mysterious man stayed still, watching Lilith walk away from him. She had referred to him as a spoilt brat, a term he had never been called before.

"Why is this woman immune to my intimidation?" he wondered his inner voice, a harsh whisper that echoed within the confines of his psyche.

He was used to receiving terrified stares from humans, but Lilith was different. Instead of fearing him, she had transformed into someone brave enough to order him.

'What a fascinating humans.' He uttered to himself.

He was still staring at Lilith as she walked away, but she quickly turned back, her crystal blue eyes piercing intently into his. "Won't you start walking already!" She snapped coldly, scanning him from head to toe.

Following her statement, she once more turned around and began walking her way, expecting that the young man would follow her.

He scoffed and shook his head sideways, then walked away from Lilith since he didn't want anything to do with a little human girl.

He hadn't taken many steps when he felt someone grab the hems of his black suit, causing him to halt.

"Are you always this stubborn?" Lilith inquired, her eyelashes fluttering at him.

"Do I need to answer your silly question?" He muttered as he turned his sight to the hems of his suit. His gaze on his suit darkened as a cold aura enveloped him, and Lilith was aware of the unspoken words that followed his deadly glare.

Lilith let grasp the hem of his suit and forced herself to smile. "Are you heading back to your house?" She began to question him.

He smirked, lowering his back to Lilith's face, and as they were a few inches apart, his lips curled into a seductive smile. "Do you want to come to my house?"

Lilith moved her head sideways, startled by their closeness, and fluttered her long lashes. "I… I don't want to." She whispered, but her voice was clear enough for the young man to hear.

With a tiny nod, he stood still, his hands deep in his trouser pockets. "What do you want to talk about?"

Lilith's eyes lit up with amusement, almost as if she were a child who had found a lost toy after days of seeking it.

Upon realizing the question that the young man had asked, Lilith stood still beside him as she wrapped her hands around her back. "Do you like art?" She interrogated.

The young man began to walk, his hands remained in his pocket and his gaze fixed on his front. "Was that the question that you intended to ask me?" He questioned, his gaze fixed on where he was heading.

Lilith nervously shakes her head sideways. "I wanted to ask if…" her voice trailed off as she sighted the oil painting of the lady carrying a human skull.

As Lilith proceeded towards the painting, the young man trailed behind her, drawn to it for unexplained reasons.

Lilith sighed in frustration as they both stood in silence, intensely judging the oil painting's artwork with their gazes.

"For an unknown reason, I feel connected to the lady in the oil painting and now that I'm standing beside you, I feel your energy coming from the skull that the lady held in her hand," Lilith said, her gaze never leaving the painting.

His smirk transformed into a malicious grin as his hands, previously concealed within the depths of his pockets, emerged like serpents coiling out of their shadowy hideaway.

"And what if this painting," he mused, his words a slow, deliberate drawl that evoked a chill of foreboding in Lilith's veins, "What if this painting is something more than just a mere depiction of art, but rather a vessel that transcends the ordinary? What if this painting explains your past lives?"

His gaze shifted to Lilith and after a scoff escaped his lips, they shifted back to the mysterious oil painting, a glint of intrigue flickering in his eyes, as if a new revelation had just dawned upon him.

"H-huh? My… My past life?" Lilith stuttered.
