11] A change

(Hikari POV, Shin's house)

I anxiously walk into the house with Atlas and Aiya, not knowing what to do.

Atlas- "This is the first time I've been to his house, pretty big huh?" He playfully nudges at Aiya, but she seems to be too distracted with her inner thoughts to have heard him.

"So, which one is his room?" He looks me dead in the eyes, causing me to point to the hallway where our rooms are.

Hikari- "Down there to the right, it's the last door... Be sure to at least knock."

We walk up to his room, and Atlas roughly hits the door.

Atlas- "Hey, you still alive in there?" Silence... Atlas slowly turns the knob, and surprisingly it opens. The inside of his room makes me start gagging.

Aiya- "What the hell happened here!?" Aiya looks frightened, and Atlas seems even more worried. The walls are covered with blood, everything is coated in a layer of blood, some new some old.

The oldest blood looks a couple days old, while the newest looks like it was spilt a couple hours ago. A small amount of blood is splattered on the walls, it's white color showing how the room used to look. His walls are now a dark red.

I immediately start scanning for his unique Aura, finding a small amount of it infused with all of the blood.

Hikari- "T-this is all... his blood." The others seem even more shocked and worried.

Atlas- "What do you think happened? Where is he?" Suddenly the bathroom door opened, and Shin came out of it. He was only wearing a towel, so we could see his full body. He was full of wounds, most of them closed and almost done healing.

Shin- "Uh..." He froze when he saw all of us standing there outside of his room. Aiya ran up to him immediately.

Aiya- "What happened!? What did you do to yourself!" That last one was said as a statement, no hint of a questioning tone in her voice.

Shin- "I... Was..." A small, barely noticeable smirk appeared on his face. A smirk in which he immediately used his hands to cover.

"Sorry, I awakened a Flair that allows me to control my blood." He says this with a slight panic unnoticed by the others. Aiya huffs.

Aiya- "I'm going to heal you now, and you aren't allowed to hurt yourself anymore!" She immediately begins using her Flair, and his wounds start to visibly close. But I noticed something else, Broth- Shin's Aura is absorbing Aiya's. 

"Alright, all done." She wipes her forehead, seemingly a bit tired.

Shin- "Wow! I didn't know you could do that, that's really impressive!" Liar.

Aiya- "Yeah, I recently obtained this ability. Glad to be able to help." She pauses for a moment.

"Do you want me to heal your sister?" He looks stunned for a moment before looking to me, his eyes seem... To not say anything... He must be doing this for outside appearances, so I follow and meekly nod. He 'sighs' before looking to Aiya.

Shin- "She told you? Well, now that you know. I guess it's fine, seeing as you could heal her." Aiya nods, and he brings us to the kitchen.

"I should get some food first, I haven't eaten for a week. What do you guys want to eat?" He stands there with the fridge open, looking inside. It seems that he forgot that he was only in his towel, and Aiya noticed this. I shake my head as I see her avert her gaze.

Hikari- "Brother... It's not just us in the house, go put on some clothes." He freezes, turning to look at me with a whole pile of food in his arms. Sighing, he puts the food on the table and leaves.

Aiya- "..."

Atlas- "Oh, I forgot that he wasn't even wearing pants." Hearing that statement causes Aiya to imagine things, turning her face even more red.

Shin eventually comes back, completely dressed in black. I send him a knowing smirk, and he just scoffs in return. His eyes read: 'So what? They're comfortable, and my other clothes are ruined...'

Shin- "So, Aiya. Are you able to heal an almost fatal wound?" We all flinch at his words, running the word fatal through our minds.

Aiya- "I can definitely stabilize them, but if it's concentrated in a single area I should be fine." He nods, and I feel a cold shiver run down my back.

Shin- "Alright, now I just need to get the medication to knock you out." He looks to me as he says this, causing me to visibly shiver.

"I'll be right back." He goes into the bathroom and comes back out with a canister of something and a small mask.

"I'm going to need you to put this on." He hands me the mask, and I put it on without much delay. All of a sudden, I start getting sleepy.

I eventually wake up in my room, Shin is reading a book in the corner of the room.

Shin- "How do you feel?" He says while closing the book. I close my fist, my strength is still the same. I use my Flair, and I can see Aura much more clearly now. I can even sense it in my own body, being able to feel the way it flows.

Hikari- "Really good! My Flair has actually improved!" Shin smiles, a warm smile.

Shin- "Great! I'm glad you're doing fine... I was worried that you may not be able to use a Flair after this, good thing you're fine." He lets out a breath, sighing a sigh of relief.

Hikari- "You were worried about me?" I ask, not really expecting him to care too much.

Shin- "Of course, you're the only one that makes me feel different... These urges are... Quite hard to miss, so I'd know if I feel them towards you or not." I take a moment to process his words.

Urges? What kind of urges? Urges toward me? Wait... (Urges of violence)

My face heats up, and I don't hear anything that Shin is saying. I'm too busy in my inner thoughts. (currently trying to tell her about his violent thoughts)

I didn't think he felt that way, is that why he's so different around others? He's so cold to everyone else, but treats me like a sister. (acts like normal in front of Hikari, and puts up a front when dealing with others)

I didn't think he'd be attracted to someone like me, but I guess he is. (...)

Shin- "So, all that in mind... Do you... Still want to be with me?" He asks, weakly. (He's not sure if she would want to continue living with a savage monster like him)

Hikari- "Of course I'll be with you, it may seem weird to others. You know, because we're supposed to be brother and sister."

Shin- "..." He just looks at me confused.

"What?" His reaction causes me to panic.

Hikari- "Were you not asking me out?"

Shin- "..."

Hikari- "..."

Shin- "Wha-" 

Hikari- "I'M GOING TO SLEEP!" I say this loudly, cutting off whatever he was going to say, before pulling the covers over my head. He sits in silence for a few moments.

Shin- "Aren't you go-"

Hikari- "SLEEPING NOW!" I start obnoxiously fake snoring, hoping he would get the hint.

Shin- "Fine, but I'm taking this." I don't even see what he takes, but the door shuts.

Oh my freaking GoD... I can't believe I just said that... What if he ends up hating me for it? I should have just held my tongue, why would anybody love me? I haven't done anything deserving of love, how dare I think I am worthy of having his...

I fall asleep, definitely not crying a single tear.

When I wake up, I slowly creep out of my room. I don't really want to encounter Shin right now, but I should get this over with.

He's not in his room, so I check the living room. Nope. Kitchen? No, but there is a piece of paper with writing on it.

I'm going to be leaving for a small amount of time, I'll be back... sometime in the future, not too sure when.

I'm going to fi- Visit my brother.

I have no clue whether I'll be back later today, tomorrow, next week, or even next year. 

To make up for it however, I left presents for you. Check your pockets.

My pockets? 

I reach my hand into one of my pockets, and my hand touches a piece of paper. Once I take the paper out I begin reading it.

Acceptance letter? To... HORIZON ACADEMY!?

He listened, and let me go to school! I'm even in his class! I check my other pocket, and the only thing I touch is a small ring.

Taking the ring out and examining it, I notice that it's too big for any of my fingers. The black ring is pretty thin, but I could probably fit two fingers in it.

I put it on my left middle finger to see how big it really was, but it shrunk to be nice and snug.

Hikari- "What!? How did-" Suddenly, knowledge on how to control shadows flooded into my head. When I tried to change my clothes, they actually changed.

"Holy crap... Did he just give me a Flair?" This gift is way too precious, Wait. I pick up the letter again.

What's with the heart? Is he trying to give me a panic attack? I think he did this on purpose... But I'll forgive my dumb brother because of his precious gifts.
