So after getting exposed to more languages apart from English as we get more and more away from the West and moving towards the East, I realised that I understand every single one of them.
I understood what people said regardless of their language.
So when we landed in Tokyo, I understood everything! It was so amazing that I nearly cried! This is the greatest perk of this whole Campione thing!
"Erica! You never said I can understand ALL languages!" I said to my blonde girlfriend's ear.
"...I forgot? I have been using language spells since I can remember." She said with a casual shrug.
I could only roll my eyes. If I knew about this, I would have started reading raw manga weeks ago!!!
"Well doesn't matter now. We need to make it so that my parents won't notice that we understand everything. " I said sofly to her.
"...We could push that I know the language, and you have been learning it since you have a thing for your mangas and Anime."
I nodded to her proposal. I can trust my beautiful girlfriend to come up with a solution which involves using her unique background!
"Sure thing. And since you know the language, you helped in learning how to talk it."
Now, she nodded at me.
"Indeed, this way, we don't need to hold back."
As we continued to walk through the corridors toward the border control, we were exposed to signs with lots of Japanese mixed with English letters as a secondary language.
This quite helps with navigation when you don't know the language. This is what my father has been using. Funny enough, he is taking this whole thing very seriously as he got a vocabulary of Japanese on hand.
I am trying to get the hang, at least on the basic stuff.
Eventually, we entered Japan, and there were a lot of people. Like ridiculously crowded! I thought London could get crowded, but this was on a different level altogether!
Not only that, but the whole exposure to this nation from the get-go brings in that fresh feeling of 'new'. New place, the new smell of food, Different cultural stuff from posters of unknown companies to advertisements from said companies which you could only find in Asia most likely ... .probably, honestly, I have no idea about that one.
After a short sighting seeing, we ended up outside, where we saw a Japanese man in a suit holding a paper with 'Valeron' written on it.
"...He is from Historic Compilation Committee. The Magic organisation runs Japan's Magic side. You could say you are their new leader." Erica softly said to me as she leaned at my side while holding my hand.
"I see. I sense some magic from him."
Now that he noticed us approaching, he walked over to us.
"It's my pleasure to meet you. My name is Amakasu Touma, and I will be your driver today." The man said in perfect English, which my father understood.
As the man was introduced, my father walked over and greeted him.
After the introductions were over, we were informed that our luggage would be taken directly to our new home, which is in Chiba.
Instead, we will be travelling with minimum stuff inside a spacious limousine.
It is quite strange how my parents didn't question why a goddam limo and not some less luxurious car. Such treatment, at least, should have brough some confusion.
Well, whatever.
The spacious car is a better choice after spending so many hours on a plane. While it was boring, I did enjoy those hours being something akin to a teddy bear to my blonde girlfriend, who slept using me like a pillow.
"While there are so many people here, just look how clean this place is!" My mother exclaimed as she was observing the city and street from the other side of the window.
"Well, they are much more disciplined, and people respect their cities," I said with a shrug. I already noticed that.
"I am more interested in all those Asian cars which don't make it to Europe." My father said as he looked at the cars on the streets.
My mother just rolled her eyes at my geeking father.
While these two care about those little things. I am more interested in the school I will be transferring to, and of course, What kind of Heretic Gods descend in such an oriental country?
I don't doubt there will be Shinto gods, but then I decided to ask something which has been on my mind for some time.
"Do Heroes Descend as Heretic Gods?" I whispered to the blond girl of mine.
For a second, she looked at me and then nodded.
"We do have reports about Heroes descending, such as Siegfried, Perseus, King Arthur and members of his Round Table."
My eyes widened upon hearing that; Heroes as Heretic Gods?
"That's one hell of a promotion," I whispered to her.
"They are called Gods of Steel, I suppose; I should explain to you the types of Heretic Gods there are." She said that as she leaned towards me and softly started talking about 'types'.
Honestly, the more I heard about this, the weirder it sounded—especially the whole Mother Earth Goddess nonsense.
God of Steel slays them. She turns into two beings; one is a maiden, something like an ultimate witch, and the other one is a Monster; the Monster gets slain, and the maiden is kept as a lover, sister, or some other shit in some magic binding way gets enslaved.
Not only that, but Hime-Mikos are usually distant descended from these maiden witch girls.
With all this whispering conversation going on, we didn't even realise as we arrived at our new house.
And yes, Erica will be living with me. My parents eventually agreed as, according to them, the girl helped me become a 'decent' human male. Less obsessed with computers, manga and anime.
So it's for the better that my lovely girlfriend lives with me in such an unknown country.
This already sounds like some sort of plot for anime.
Once we were out of the car, the driver helped with muscular luggage, which we had with us at the time, as the rest would come later.
It was time to have a short conversation with our dear driver.
"Amakusa Touma, yes?"
The man stiffed for a second when I spoke to him.
"Tell your association that I wish to speak with them. We have 'things' to discuss." As I said that, I patted his shoulder. There was a little bit of static electricity there for him from me.
Nothing much, but the message has been received by him.
"O-Of course! Your Majesty!" He quickly nodded and did a traditional Japanese bow before quickly leaving.
"What was that? Ray, you never told me you can speak Japanese!?"
My mother huffed at me for a bit. Realised that she is most likely the only one who is clueless about the languages; at least my father knows English.
"Well, watching all those animes was worth it."
I said with a shrug which made Erica's eye roll at me; she didn't comment on it.
~~~
"I thought Japan lacked land, but our front driveway is enough to store at least four cars!" My father said as we explored the front side of the two-floor house. It was quite a large place, especially for a house built in one of Tokyo's prefectures! The land price should be enormous.
The more I see this, the more this sounds like the work of the committee which worked through Toyota to make this happen.
There is no way a company would spend this much money to make this happen.
In other words, they can easily manipulate huge companies like this.
'Good to know; I may do something similar in future if they can easily hide things from the public as well.'
'Not that I care, but if everyone knows that I am a Godslayer… image shit ton of people want to worship me like some sort of saviour….'
Just thinking about this makes me shiver.
"Why did you pale like that?" Erica asked me as she noticed my reaction.
"Nothing. I just imagined the worst-case scenario…."
"What kind of scenario?"
"When everyone knows who I am…"
"...Where did that come from?" She asked with a weirded-out look.
"Well, from this—" I slightly pointed out at the house.
"The magic side easily infiltrated one of the world's biggest car-making companies and did all this…."
Erica now had an understanding look.
"This is because of world leaders, extremely rich people, like the executives in your Father's company…They know about the supernatural.
They knew about you. So the transition is very smooth. World leaders will hide the Supernatural as long as possible. Otherwise, the carefully crafted society mortals live in will collapse.
The repeat from the previous times will return when Campiones ruled the world with an iron fist."
She said that with crossed arms as well, we were exploring the house. It turns out there is quite a big backyard as well. Big enough to have a huge barbeque party!
"Oh? So what happened? Were all those previous Campione disappeared too?"
*Sigh*
"Not everyone is like you, Ray. Campione's average lifespan is very short. Only a few selected survive for more than a hundred or two years. They usually end up dying against powerful Heretic God or die fighting each other because their egos got not stroked."
The way she described them sounded similar to Heretic Gods themselves.
However, I can see it happening when you have this much power. It's easy to get confident, eventually arrogant and proud at the end.
"Because of such huge powers, regular mortals will do anything to make sure Campiones are on their side, like now. You got a nice house; your father is now an executive in one of the biggest car-making companies in the world.
And then you have me as well." She smirked when she said the last part.
"Oh?"
"Oh, indeed. No mere mortal man would have me like you have~" She winked at me while slightly leaning on me.
"I see… well, why don't we explore the house and check our room," I said while putting my hands around her waist.
"W-Wait! I didn't mean anything with my last words!" There was some panic in her tone as she realised that this might get out of hand!
"No? I thought you were suggesting something…" I questioned her with a slightly raised eyebrow.
"N-No…what I meant is that no regular mortal would get me so easily as you did…." There was some pink blush on her cheeks when she said that with a mosquito voice.
"Oh. I see. Well, I suppose we can discuss this after we check the house."
"Y-Yes, let's do that."
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
As Erica was brushing her hair and was ready to get into the bed that she shared with her boyfriend, as Raynor had said, they now slept in one big bed.
Her phone rang.
The girl slowly picked it up and checked the caller.
For a second, she grimaced; it was her uncle.
She had not spoken with him for the past few weeks before the blonde started to chase after Zeus towards Eastern Europe.
"Yes?"
"Erica! Is it true!? I just learned from Princess Alice herself that you are dating the newest Campione!? Are you mad!?" As she heard that, she slightly pulled her phone away from her ear.
For a second, she thought about what to say.
"Well… it sort of… kind of… happened? I was there when he killed Zeus, and he asked me to become his knight; as you know, I can't say no to one of them." As Erica said that, she saw Raynor looking at her with exaggerated eye rolls.
"I see… you are reckless as ever…"
This time. She snorted when she heard that.
"Well, I didn't engage a Heretic God or a Campione… like you did against Alec?"
"Don't remind me. Just stay safe. When are you planning to return to Italy? As far as I know, you are now in Japan?"
For this one, Erica looked at Raynor, who motioned with his lips the word 'holidays', which the blonde could understand what he said.
"Next school holidays. Ray wants to visit Italy, so I will come with him."
"..."
"... I see; I will need to think of something…"
That moment Erica realised that her boyfriend was a walking disaster and preparation was needed. She got swept by that leisure travelling, completely forgetting what could happen if Doni, the Italian King will, meet Raynor in Italy.
