Old Master Lenort took a deep breath.
"This ceremony will be on hold for now. I want all of you to return to your quarter, until further notice."
"But why?" Valentine asked. "Can't we just—"
"Valentine!" Lumian glared at him. "Let's go!" He stormed towards him and before Valentine could utter another word, he snatched him by his arm and dragged him out of the hall. Lestat followed suit with his wife.
Draven left with Avelina and so did Ryan, until it was just Lilith and Old Master Lenort stuck in the hall.
"I don't like this!" Lilith scowled at him. "How can you—"
"I have to kill him!" Old master lenort declared. "He cannot be chosen, he will not rule. Not only watch. I will kill him for the sake of this country and have another heir chosen. I have to do it."
Lilith raised a brow at him. "And just how do you plan to do so?"
"One way or the other!" Old Master Lenort declared and began to storm out of the hall.
