"It's a HOBGOBLIN!"

Jack nearly freaked out when he saw the human-like creature standing right in front of them. The hobgoblin had scars all over his body, showing that he has fought countless times and survived, his skin had a deep red color to it, 'might be due to his superiority' Daniel thought to himself. The hobgoblin was wearing a locket that had a sharp claw at the end, as a weapon he was carrying a huge Warhammer with him.

*Snarl* The hobgoblin looked at them and snarled as if challenging them to fight him in a battle head-on. It became more clear by the second when none of the goblins surrounding them moved a muscle.

Seeing this, John rushed in with his sword lifted. *Clash* *Ting* Sound of metal clashing was heard all around the region.

John dodged back as a huge hammer landed on the ground *Boom*. This gave John enough time to attack him. He stepped on the side of the grounded hammer and ejected himself in the air, creating an arc with his sword mid-air he aimed for the hobgoblin's head.

*Grab* The Hobgoblin grabbed his sword mid-air and punched him with all his might. *Fwoosh* *Thud* John flew a few feet across the clearing and landed on his head, blood spat out of his mouth with a few teeth. His lower jaw was completely shattered, blood was coming out of his broken jaw uncontrollably. Jack ran towards him accompanied by Maria, who started using her healing spells. He was unconscious but was still alive… for now, at least.

The hobgoblin picked up his Warhammer and pointed it in the direction of Daniel. Daniel understood that the hobgoblin was challenging him now. He created a blade with his and jumped right at the goblin.

*Clang* *Clang* *Clang*

Metals clashing was heard all around the vicinity as Daniel tried to find an opening between the hobgoblin's attacks. Daniel jumped and tried slicing the hobgoblin's head but he was too slow. The hobgoblin pinched him straight in his stomach, making him fly off a few feet before falling on the ground with a huge noise.

"Aaahh..." Daniel groaned as he started to crawl in an attempt to stand up. He glanced behind and saw the hobgoblin who was approaching him, dragging his hammer along. Daniel attempted to get up just when he saw a huge hammer above him, ready to smashed to the ground.

"Awh... Fuck!" he cursed as he saw the hammer approaching. *Fwoosh* By some miracle, Daniel saw an arrow fly straight into the hobgoblin's hand. It was Ava.

*Roar* The hobgoblin led out a cry which sounded more like a roar. He dropped his hammer and grabbed his injured hand due to the immense pain caused by the arrow wound.

Daniel, upon realizing the advantage didn't waste a second. He transmuted his right hand into a blade and ran at him, slashing his pelvis in two. *Slash* The hobgoblin's upper torso and lower torso fell on the ground, separated.

A small bright light ejected itself from the dead hobgoblin's upper torso and entered Daniel.

*Snarl* *Snarl* The angry snarls amidst the goblins intensified as they saw their leader fell on the ground. They started closing in at them, their numbers increasing by the second. 'Aww... Fuck!' Daniel thought to himself as he saw the horde approaching.

He was out of energy at this point and wasn't sure what to do next. There were too many of them for a single person to handle. John was still unconscious and Jack would be just run over by them in mere seconds. There was no escape now, either fight or die.

'Hey, Kid. Use a spell' Asmodeus said followed by a strange voice, which very much felt as though he was yawning. 'How?!' Daniel asked him. 'What?! Haven't you been taught that in your so-called Academy?' Asmodeus said with a confused tone. 'NO, I wasn't! because I didn't have any magic, up until five days ago!'

'Uhhh... Alright listen, imagine your mana concentrating into one spot, and when a dark cluster of rotating mana is formed at the size of an apple, increase its gravitational pull' Asmodeus guided him.

Daniel did as he was guided to, he clapped his hand together, concentrating the flow of mana in his hands, and slowly started expanding it, creating a pitch-black, rotating magical orb the size of a giant watermelon.

Seeing the spell being cast, all the goblins ran at an immense speed right at him. Just then, he added a gravitational pull.

*Woooooosssssshhhhhhhhhhhh*

A large suction power was emanated by the pitch-black orb between Daniel's hands. Everything in the region was pulled straight inside the gravitational orb. Around a hundred goblins in the regions were pulled inside it in mere seconds and the rest were either holding onto something or were trying to escape. Within three seconds of it, trees, bushes, rocks and every other thing in that area started being hauled in as well.

'CLOSE IT!' Daniel heard a loud voice inside his head.

Daniel quickly started shutting his hand close and closed the gravitational orb.

Once the green and beautiful forest had become a barren land, everything in the vicinity of at least 50 meters was gone. Trees, small plants, bushes, rocks, and even boulders buried deep underground were pulled out.

'I told you the size of an apple, make sure to follow my instructions next time' Asmodeus said with a light chuckle 'You could have devastated the whole forest if it was active for a few more seconds, but still good job'.

'What was that spell?' Daniel asked with a nonchalant tone, looking at the damage caused by his magic.

'This spell is called The Gravity Well. It is a condensed orb of dark magic that has a huge gravitational pull in it. Nothing can escape its pull, not even light. And yes before you ask, it can even be used as a shield as it can pull any and all types of magic.'

'What happens to the beings that are pulled inside of it?'

'Nothing. There is no vacuum or air inside whatsoever. All living beings would just be merely devoured.'
