Chapter Thirty-Three: The Last Mission (Part I)

Third Person's View

A smirk formed in Olivia's lips as she clicked the "unmute" button. "Oh, hi, my dearest boyfriend and his lovingly cheater b*tch! I assure you that all of this would pretty much be over if you just hand over my boyfriend to me," she said. "Deal or Not?"

Ran sighed as she stand to where she is, unaware now that she is in danger as well. For now, she's pissed.

"Huh? What are you talking about, you woman?!" Ran glared where the sound comes from. "First of all, I'm not a b*tch! I'm a fine woman! Second, I am not his b*tch and he's not your boyfriend, he's mine, you damn wench! And third, I would never ever handle him to someone as too high level profile like you!"

In a room, Hayley's vein popped out on hee forehead as her eyebrows uncontrollably shaked in irritation.

"Ara~~ Ara~~ You're rea~~lly on high pride as usual, Mouri Ran-san."

"Don't talk casual to me, you wench!" Ran gritted her teeth. She doesn't like putting herself to snap but this woman really pisses her off.

"O-Oi, Ran! Where are you?!" Shinichi shouted. It echoed through out the room. He waited for an answer but Ran did not reply. He didn't hear her voice.

"Ran? Ran?" Shinichi called once more but no one aswered.

On the other hand, the two ladies are still fighting.

"Usual?" She smirked and crossed her legs as she stared with pride in her eyes to the only woman she loathe. "This is not a usual, deary. This is a complete different reason."

"First of all, how could this have a difference if you still trying to make me give up on Shinichi? Second, how is it not our usual talk when you keep blabbering the same kind of topic we we're in earlier?" Ran rolled her eyes and licked her lower lips as it run dry. "Love isn't what you think it is, Olivia. Your mind is consuming all the loathe, hate, anger, hatred, jealousy you are feeling right now."

"And so what?" Olivia clenched her teeth. "You don't know what I feel since you stole Jimmy from me! You don't know the pain I've been through when I saw Jimmy been taken away from me! How he turn his back so easily to me just because his memories brought back again to him and how he left me when he remembers his true love!"

Tears flows down to Olivia's eyes as she gripped the mic tightly. "You are not in my shoes! You. Are. Not. Me. And you'll never understand me!"

Her eyes widened as she puts a heavy weight down her hand to the table in front of her. "If you wanted to take away Jimmy from me, then I'll make sure he will never be yours!"

Olivia turned into a monster. She is completely consumed by the anger, hatred, jealousy—all the emotions she's feeling right now towards Mouri Ran.

She pressed a red button and Ran's place illuminated so bright that it blinded her sight. On the other side, Shinichi saw the light and was blinded by it for a second but then, he saw Ran tripped down on her own feet and it made her sat down the floor with a thump.

Shinichi's eyes widened and hurriedly ran towards her but them, he felt a solid, smooth object in front of him.

"A mirror? No, a glass...?" he thought. He didn't think of it any longer and focused on Ran that he saw right now having a different movement from last time.

"Ran! Ran!" he shouted as he punched the glass but it is no use. The glass wouldn't break and Ran is suffering on the other side.

Shinichi could see smokes in the side of Ran. She is holding her neck as she opened her mouth, catching her breath, forcing her eyes to keep open, and to stay conscious as possible.

But her lungs hurt. Her throat hurts. Her eyelids wants to be closed. She felt weak so suddenly. Her vision slowly became more blur and blur. She feels like all around her is spinning like a ferris wheel.

Until her arms couldn't take it anymore. It goes limp. Until she can't make her eyes opened wide anymore, she let it slowly closed. Until she can't seem to stop her sudden heavy breathing. Her body slowly dropped to the ground as her consciousness dies

"Miss, are you sure there's two people here?" the policed asked Sonoko.

"Yes! I'm not lying!" she shouted. "My friend was in this spot! This. Very. Spot.! She said to call the police because there's someone following her!"

Her eyes widened as he saw a man behind the police. In a distance, she recognized the man.

"Police officer, there! There!" Sonoko pointed to where the man is. "That's the man I'm talking about!"

The man flinched as his eyes widened in fear and shock. The police men turned around to confirm and ran towards the man as they saw him ran away.

When the man was caught, he was being held down and handcuffs are on his wrist.

Sonoko went near the man and crouched down, pulled his hair to face her and she looked at him with the most b*tch look.

"Oi, old man," she called to the man. "Where is Ran?"

The man looked flustered. Sonoko could feel him trembling in fear. She doesn't even do anything yet, yet the man is scared to death.

"Where is Ran?" she asked again. This time, she is irritated. "You are following Ran so you know where she is right now, right?"

"N-No..." the man mumbled.

"Huh~?" Sonoko irritatingly replied and pulled the man's hair even more tightly. The man groaned in pain. "What? You don't know where she is? I thought you are really following her? Are you really not a stalker or anything of some sort?"

"N-No..."

"Then, why are you following Ran?"

His eyes are really horrified. "I-I can't tell you..."

"Why not?"

"B-Because... I... I will be d-dead if I told anything about it."

"Suzuki-san, what should we do to him?" the police officer asked her.

Sonoko just gave him a waiting sign and looked to the man again. "Don't worry. The police will protect you from any harm. Tell us the truth now or you'll have more years in jail," Sonoko said.

The man shrieked in fear and looked down, breathing heavily while his eyes are still giving that kind of expression.

"H-He ordered me," he muttered.

"Ordered? Who?"

"T-Tomaki Serio... T-That's his name..." He looked straight on Sonoko's eyes and pulled her collar and pulled her towards him. "Please! I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die on his hands!" He pushed away Sonoko and put both of his hands on his head. "Please spare me! No! Kill me! Just kill me!"

Sonoko stood up and sighed as she looked to the police officers. "Hold him. I don't want him to go psycho here. Take him into consultation in a nearby mental hospital first. I will continue the investigation alone."

"A young woman shouldn't carry this burden to hersel—"

"Do you think I'm still a young woman?" Sonoko asked and rolled her eyes. "Geez. Police officers don't know Suzuki branches? I'm the granddaughter of—"

"Ah! I recognized you!" one officer said. "You're a friend of Mouri Ran, the famous international attorney!"

"Well, yeah, part of it yes," Sonoko said with an awkward laugh. She shook her head and pointed to the police officers. "Anyways, no time to waste. Take him. Now."

The police officers went and Sonoko sighed as she thinks of a way to continue the investigation.
