Chapter 9
You are such a lightweight.
Fuck you.He was pretty sure he didn’t say that out loud.
“Great, that’s ready.”
Aiden hadn’t seen Tanner coming back until the man was right in his peripheral vision, but his startled cry was just a dry whisper. Tanner’s eyes were bright, sapphire blue, even though he was completely in the shadow of his lamp. They shone like faceted lanterns in the dark.
“Sorry about that. I forgot it’s hard for you to see very much like this.”
Aiden bared his teeth at Tanner when the other man knelt and reached for his face, but Tanner ignored the empty threat. He carefully removed Aiden’s glasses. Aiden could see without them, but not wonderfully well. It was impossible to make out details now, especially with how dark it was. Tanner’s eyes looked blurry, just as blue though not quite as bright. Tanner smoothed the hair off Aiden’s forehead with his gentle hands, and Aiden would have given anything at that moment just to flinch.
