Chapter 51

Greg stood as well. “What is it? Are you feeling sick?”

Aiden shook his head. “No. I feel fine.” He looked at Greg. “Like when I was in Tanner’s room.”

Greg gaped at him. “Light preserve us.” He shoved his chair out of the way with his leg and grabbed Cassandra’s hand, striding to the door and tugging her with him. “Let’s go.”

“What’s going on? Wait, you think my adviser’s part of the Dark?” Cassandra’s voice practically screeched over her incredulity, but she didn’t pull her hand away from Greg’s.

“She is. She has to be,” Aiden said. “Did she know Tanner?”

“She didn’t come to the memorial…” Cassandra’s eyes went very wide. “But Tanner and I shared a class she taught last year. Oh, shit.” She looked at Aiden, horrified shock all over her face. “I totally forgot.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Aiden muttered.

Looked like he’d made the right choice after all. The vindication was like a hard lump of stone in his stomach. He got to the door first. It was locked. “Oh, hells.”
