The Marauder

"So basically it's just to get to the hotel and find the passage and then it's an easy path to the portal?" Green asked Amelia through the radio.

[Yes, Agent Green.]

"Seems simple enough."

[Yes, but given the fact the council might turn the city and the rest of you to dust just to neutralize the threat, I think you should get moving as fast as possible and I've already told the rest of the team about it. 

"Got it. Any sign of Evan still?"

Amelia sighed on the other side, [Unfortunately no. We've looked through all the security cameras across the city but still no sign of him. He could be in hiding or heading for the portal site his way.]

"He's a tough kid. He'll make it."

As Green walks across the desolate streets of Vegas while talking to Amelia through the radio, he suddenly halts and finds himself in a small bridge. Feeling somewhat uneasy, he looks to the side of the bridge and to his shock, the street beneath the bridge is filled with hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands of bodies of "Hammer Down" MTF soldiers, destroyed Humvees, armored vehicles and tanks around the area.

Judging by the area with no demon corpses around, this is no doubt a massacre. But for some reason, Green felt it's not caused by a horde of demons that overwhelm them, he felt it causes only one individual alone.

Squinted his eyes, Green suddenly saw something from the other side of the bridge, the heavy footsteps it created reverberated throughout the silence atmosphere as it was approaching him... menacingly.

"I'll call you later, Amelia." 

Ending the radio call, Green mentally called out Cerberus as he appeared beside him and stared at the individual approaching him. At the next moment, the individual stopped and Green was able to get a good look at who it was. 

It was a male humanoid with an earthy green mask and armor with a red glow located in the center, he has a deathly pale skin with visible facial features resembling a humanoid skull. He had a set of upwards-curving horns on the top of his head, and two downwards-curving horns on the sides, with a row of spikes going down the center of his forehead and glowing menacing deep red eyes that could cause dread to a human soul. He was holding an argent energy axe on the right hand and a double barrel shotgun holstered on his left side.

This was a Marauder.

"I'll take a guess that you're not here to negotiate." Green said as he stared at the newcomer cautiously, no doubt that he, alone, was the one who slaughtered the battalion.

"Negotiations are useless, but conflict against me and the hell dimension is inevitable, human." He said in a deep and ominous voice that could shake the soul in deep fear.

"I'll take that as a no then."

Utter silence only took the scene, the continuous gunshots, explosions and demonic roars echoed the dark day, the two opponents started circling each other while staring at one another menacingly. 

"You are nothing but a mere human. A cannon fodder sent by your leaders to meet an inevitable death at our hands." The Marauder activates his Argent axe as it glows in crimson light before continuing as he stares at Cerberus, "I'm not sure what that spiritual being beside you is but you're gonna lose your life here and now."

"Let's agree to disagree then shall we." Said Green.

"You seem confident. Like you have experience dealing with monsters like me." The Demonic Warrior said in curiosity.

"I've done it for years so this is nothing new to me." Replied Green as the green glow revolving around his body became increasingly dense as his gaze never left the demon.

"Then let me tell you something, human." He muttered, his voice becoming more serious, "I'm a little bit different than the other monsters that you have faced until now, and I'll show it to you right here." The Marauder glanced indifferently at him. As he sensed the green-coloured energy within Green's body, he quickly got into a stance.

Seeing his action, Green halted his steps as the two stopped circling each other and readied themselves for a fight. 

*Music Play — The Only Thing They Fear is You*

Within an instant, the two charge towards each other with the heavy metal music playing in the background. Cerberus sends his fist, this time with all his might. However, the Marauder quickly activated his argent shield, blocking the attack without sustaining any damage.

"Of course."

Before Green could react, the Marauder sparta kicked Green in the chest hard and sent him flying off the bridge and landed on the ground safely with the help of Cerberus.

The Marauder jumps off the bridge and lands on the ground, lightly shaking the earth in front of Green, he swings his axe in different angles, sending multiple energy slashes at Green, but with the help of his Stand's enhanced senses, he simply dodges the attacks.

Quite surprised that a normal human capable of dodging his fast attacks, the Marauder realizes this is no ordinary human like the rest of the few thousands of human soldiers he slaughtered earlier.

The distance between the two of them was only ten meters. For someone like the Marauder, thus distance was meaningless. It was something he could cover up less than a millisecond. His body flashed and reappeared, got up to Green's face and slashed upwards with his axe but before it could reach a feet away from Green, Cerberus came in front of him and was about to attack the Marauder before he could hit his user.

But then... something shocking happened...

Once the Marauder's axe made contact on Cerberus's chest, it made a slash mark on its chest, damaging him and that same damage directed on its user, Green, the pain he had felt caused him to cough out blood and took a few steps back. 

Widening his eyes, the Marauder tilted his head in interest, "Hmm... it seems like if I damage your spirit, you too will also feel the damage it feels as well."

'He's not even a Stand user and he was still able to damage my Stand?!' Green mentally yelled out in utter shock and disbelief.

Suddenly, his radio crackles to life and the familiar voice on the side is none other than Carson.

[Green, listen! His weapon is made out of Argent energy. It's a power source made out of maykr, hell dimension and sentinel energy and... the endless number of souls of humans. So I think the soul energy coming from the axe is making your Stand vulnerable to his attacks, since Stands are an extension of one's soul, it kinda makes sense.]

"Thanks for the update, Carson." Green said, wiping the blood from his mouth as he gazed at the Marauder who jumped towards him, but he instinctively brought his rifle in front of his face to shield himself but the Marauder simply cut it in half easily. 

Cerberus, seeing an opening, punched him in the face with the entirety of his strength, which sent the Marauder crashing into a building. 

Suddenly, a Hound made out of some sort of orange energy jumps out of the building which was summoned by the Marauder lands on the ground and lets out a howl and heads towards Green but Cerberus instantly cuts the hound in half with a fire curved sword, killing it before it disappears into nothingness.

"Look over here."

Hearing a sudden voice behind him, Green turned around to see the Marauder pointing his shotgun at his chest in point blank range.

Before Green could avoid it, the Marauder pulled the trigger and shot Green's chest, the force of the shot sent him flying a few meters away but his armor, which was completely shattered from the blow had protected from most of the shots while at the same time, he created an extremely thick ice vest on his chest to protect the more vital parts. 

If not for them, the shotgun blast could've burst and obliterated Green's entire chest area, including his internal organs.

But getting shot is not over yet, the Marauder grabs Green's head and rams him through the walls of multiple buildings before ramming him through one more wall and finding themselves in a wrecked street.

Lifting Green like he was nothing, the Marauder threw him towards a lamppost but Green quickly grabs it with his Stand Cerberus' arm and spins around it. Once he lets go of the lamp post, he launches himself back at the Marauder and drops kicks his face. 

Before the Marauder could recover in the next split second, Cerberus immediately grabs him by the throat and chokeslams him into the ground before tossing him towards a car door and crashes into it. 

'This human and his spiritual companion is more formidable than I thought they would be. Looks like I'll need to get more serious.' The Marauder thought, he raised his head and gazed at Green with his deep and red menacing eyes.

Watching them heading towards him, the Marauder gets up and activates his argent shield before Cerberus appears in front of him and with all his might, he unleashes a barrage of punches on the shield.

"WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! WAR!! Each punch Cerberus sent out was both fueled with electricity, hot flames, and cold ice. Creating a deadly but creative combo between three elements without using them all at once and getting rid of his ability's flaws.

But even with all that, the Marauder's shield didn't make a dent but he kept on moving backwards while keeping his shield active while his opponent, Cerberus kept the pressure on him. 

Sensing a corner behind him, the Marauder had enough of it, and so, he deactivated his shield and quickly swung down his axe, at the same time, Cerberus summoned a fiery broadsword and swung upwards and both of their weapons clashed with each other. 

"I'll admit human, you have some guts when it comes to fighting. The only one who has ever gone toe to toe with us Marauders was the Slayer." 

Pulling out his shotgun from his other hand, he shot Green's foot, causing Cerberus to feel the pain on his foot as well making him drop his guard a little. With this, the Marauder deflects his fire swords away and in a flash, he appears behind Cerberus and slashes horizontally on his back, making a horizontal slash mark on his back, including Green.

With a roar, Cerberus punches the ground and multiple ice spike emerges from the ground around him, one of them impales the Marauder on the right side of his abdomen. 

Finding an opportunity, Green spin kicks his face, Cerberus uppercuts him and punches right in the center of his face, stunning him and making him take a few steps back. 

Creating a massive ice warhammer from thin air, Cerberus forcibly swings it down hard on him but the Marauder again activates his shield and the hammer hits it, creating a small earthquake that shakes the area around them and a deep crater underneath the Marauder, who had his Shield, still without sustaining a single damage.

In the next instant, he summons his hound again, the hound jumps towards Green and bites his right shoulder, even though he has armor on his shoulder, he still feels incredible pain, yelling out, Green tries to get it off of him. 

Since Green was distracted and not giving commands to his Stand, the Marauder immediately slashed Cerberus'  abdomen, making a deep cut on it which the damage also directed on Green.

Cerberus is forced to take a few steps back,  with this perfect opening, the Marauder clenched his axe tightly and unleashed a barrage of slashes on Cerberus, covering him in slash marks and Green too received them, making the two bleeding quite badly. 

The hound then rips off the right shoulder pad of Green's armor and crunch the hard steel shoulder pad like food, without the shoulder pad armor, it exposed his shoulder and before the hound could bite his shoulder next, Cerberus grabs the hound and rips it's head off and it disappears but this gave the Marauder a clean shot with his shotgun and as he pulls the trigger, it shot Green's right shoulder.

Removing the ice spike from his abdomen, he throws it away before raising his shotgun and ready to get a clean shot right on Green's face.

But before he could pull the trigger, Cerberus fires an electricity bolt with both his hands, electrocuting the Marauder with millions of volts of electricity. 

Even that amount of volts is not enough to kill the Marauder but stun him for a second, but that single second is enough for Green to proceed to whack him in the head with.... 

A stop sign? 

"You whacked me in the head... WITH A FUCKING STOP SIGN?!"

"I regret nothing!" 

With the Marauder glares at Green with murderous intent and Green glaring at him back while holding the stop sign as his weapon, they again charge towards each other with deadly intent.
