The Garage Sale

𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆

Saturday morning 11:00 am.

Things don't seem the same when one carries out his plans. This goes for me when I start my garage sale. It has been a rummage around the place for each and every item. I have put up the posting signs for sale across a few streets. People have started flooding in and I'm busy right now.

"Hey, dude! How's it going?" Ben joins in.

"Are you nuts? I saw you digging your way through the crowd."

"Okay... May I lend you a helping hand."

"Why are you so dramatic about it. C'mon help me," I scrunch my nose.

Most of the time people are pleased to get items of their choice. I have reorganized the items for sale in an orderly fashion.

"Hello, there" a blond petite girl said to me.

Looking up I greet the girl with a "Hello".

"Do you sell used DVD players here", she asks.

"Yes, mam. We have one"

"Will that support all file formats?" the girl is doubtful.

"It's a latest model and top-notch, mam" I reply.

"What's the price" she asks.

"Around 20 bucks" I answer.

She coughs at the selling price.

"That doesn't sound a square deal to me" she says roughly.

"Well, mam. The player is quite up and running. In fact, I bought it only last month."

"Well, I'll come some other day," she backs off and disappears.

"I think she is penniless" Ben snickers.

"Shush! Be polite, Ben. She may overhear us." I warn him.

At the end of sale, we hit the jackpot and we were quite upbeat about it.
